Age of Fire
Some say that we started the cleansing fire. That out of anger, out of pride, we let the entire world burn rather than be honorable martyrs. Others believe the Sol herself descended from the sky and singed the earth as punishment for our inaction, caused floods and storms, and drove us to war over what scraps were left. Until we were rendered beasts.
But these are the ravings of infidels. Those who lack the spine to believe in true power, and choose to retreat into fairy tales rather than accept the grace of the Forge-Mother, and in turn, the authority she bestows upon our great matriarch. We know the truth. That the Forge-Mother molded our world with the heat of life, and with it created us, her noble servants, to ensure that her message was preached over that of false idols. Before her gift, there was nothing. Simply nothing. And anyone who says otherwise deserves nothing more than a swift end brought to their miserable life.
What is certain is the world was once aflame. Molten and savage, rife with the Forge-Mother's past muses. Grand totems, statues made in our image, ruined machines for us to discover, study, appropriate for our use in the name of our progress. But in this state of the world, we could not thrive. The air and water were poison, and we, ignorant of our true purpose, spent our primitive age fighting over scraps of nothing.
(3006 - 3578) "True 0" - 572
A period of entropy, chaos, death. Until the radiation storms receded. The end was marked by the earliest, most significant sign of intelligent life since the 22nd century, the discovery of the Nurtured Tree. Theorized by those outside of the Matriarchy's sphere of influence to be the first tree to reach adulthood since the 22nd century, aided by primitive signs of abroriculture. It is unknown who is responsible, but the Matriarchy claims it as the victory of their very first 'Queen.'
Age of Renewal
Through the aid of our first queen, whose name has been lost to time, the world began to cool. The knowledge granted to us by the example of the Nurtured Tree began a movement of environmental appreciation. The Forge-Mother, pleased with the care we learned to take for our gift, granted us cleaner air, water, and food from agricultural efforts.
The Age of Renewal, however, also represented the beginnings of the Matriarchy. From tending to nature, we rediscovered our Forge-Mother's past creations. Creations we learned to use as shelter and places of study, as well as worship of the make-believe idols we invented for ourselves in our ignorance. Those of us who knew the value of these technologies abandoned nature in pursuit of these new gifts, dedicating ourselves entirely to their study. Machines, weaponry, power we had yet to understand was left to rust until it was finally salvaged by we, their true Inheritors. The Inheritors were lead by a woman we now call Queen Heln, and were the earliest form of the Matriarchy of the Forge.
We called an end to this age with the reconstruction of one of our Forge-Mother's most complex designs. The engine. A century of study brought godly power into the palms of our hands. However, non-believers rejected our discoveries, spouting false prophecies of another great blaze if we were not responsible with our discoveries. It was then that Queen Heln received her first of many prophetic visions, and formulated the basis of our modern religion, Ingotism. She declared that non-believers of the Forge-Mother were our enemies, and with good reason. Our order separated from the infidels soon after, and with our new knowledge, we prepared to build a world our Forge-Mother would smile upon.
(3578 - 3837) 572 - 831
The beginning of the end. We all came together in the name of what little science we understood, that plants were the key to our world's salvation. Filtration of our water supply, increases in oxygen, but the so-called Inheritors would eventually have none of it. The cleaner environment was magic, they claimed, a gift endowed upon them by a goddess their leader invented to make a claim at prophetic power. We, who feared the technology they found were suddenly labeled enemies. And regardless of what truth they fabricate, the Inheritors did not flee from us, the hateful savages. They hunted us before they ever became the Monarchy. And they still do.
Age of Queens
Our finest hour. Growth and technological advancement over the next millennium led to our supremacy. With every queen that rises to power, we Ingotists, we Children of the Forge, grow stronger and more resilient. However, so do our enemies. They eventually saw the error of their ways and turned to the grace of technology, but refused to see the light of our Forge-Mother's grace. Our holy war is never-ending, as we must ensure the reign of the Monarchy for generations to come. There is no room for coexistence.
The key to enforcing the word of our Forge-Mother? A militia formed in our great Queens' name. Her exalted Queensmen.
(3837 - 4998) 831 - 1992
Our cities are constantly razed. Our people are subjugated into unlawful servitude. If we do not find a way to rid ourselves of the Matriarchy soon, we may face our definitive end, and their influence will grow without resistance.
The Queensmen may very well be their killing stroke.
Queensmen
You are a Queensman. Staunch defender of your beliefs and survivor of the Queen's Trials.
Within the Bronze Empire, there exist all manner of divisive castes. Labor, educational divides, levels of involvement in government, and more. The Queensmen, however, represent an equalizing faction. They boast the same level of esteem as religious leaders, regardless of their origins. However, it is not an easily pursued path.
Before training weeds out the unwilling, prospective soldiers must pass the dreaded Queen's Trials. To test their constitutions, recruits are intentionally poisoned and required to survive on nothing but bedrest. Those that make it are assigned a numbered regiment and sent out into active duty.

World Lore
Under the Momarchy, the planet is referred to as Terra. As they have no knowledge of any other lands, the continent itself is referred to as the same name. The Bronze Empire spans across what was once known as Europe and Asia, with cracks of no-man's-land between its seven major territories. It is in these unincorporated lands that there exist settlements not affiliated with the Empire, but that lack the resources to do anything but comply with their demands.
This RP is set in the capital, Victoria. The largest of the consquered territories, as well as the one surrounded by the most unclaimed land. It is extremely rare that someone from one territory, even a Queensman, ever enter the walls of another.
The Empire is matriarchal in all respects, with leadership positions of all kinds being generally reserved for women. There have always been exceptions to this rule, but never has there been a male monarch independent of a queen. In the singular case a female heir was not produced, the highest-ranking female member of the Queensmen took her place and continued the lineage as if it were her own.
OOC
Hi! Read all that? You deserve a medal. Too bad we only give out service medals here.
In case the weird format for the lore confused you, we are indeed playing the bad guys. Of course, that doesn't mean things can't change.
Your characters will begin as true believers in the word of the Forge-Mother. Their work involves quelling resistance sects and ensuring the spread of what they call 'seditious works' not coming to pass. They are as much a police force as they are an army, and their regiments often begin looking like a family with enough time together. While their methods are cruel, they know in their hearts that making examples of infidels is in the Forge-Mother's best interest.
One can only imagine what could succeed in shaking their beliefs.
