There was a clear bored and lethargic expression in the boy's deep blue sapphire eyes, looking much like a stormy sea under a thick blanket of black storm clouds, much like the boy's personality really since Adam had lost everything he loved and cared for most in a signal house fire that had taken his home, his parents, and elder sibling.
Ever since that day when Adam had been five years old, his life had gone into a constant downward spiral, the boy having lived in various homes and orphanages around the state, never staying in one place long enough to call home, not that the boy ever would use the word "home" again in his language book, not since his own had been destroyed while he had been at school in the house fire.
And yet, Adam refused to speak of that cruel fateful day, when the boy's world had been turned around and upside down and twisted in all directions. But now, the boy resided behind door number 212 in Rockston Mental State Hospital, lying on the bed that had been stuffed in one corner of his room, a gentle breeze blowing through the practically opened window, ruffling the curtain that draped the window, the boy slowly turning his gaze to the outside world, not for the first time wonder why...
