Thuy chuckled dryly. "I hope you've got an AED in there, because I doubt there would be anyone at the hospital either. Of course, if we were to all simultaneously get heart attacks that would be an issue."

"I suppose so. I'll call my parents when we get to the garage, then." Internally, Thuy doubted that anything was wrong. Of course it was a possibility, but she felt like it wouldn't be so...normal if so. But what will I do if there is? Should I try to stick together with these two? She decided to think more on it later. It seemed that they had already arrived at the garage.Iskolde said:Casey stayed silent during the others banter. This whole thing did not settle well with her, at all. "If he's not there we should go check other houses, other people's parents probably disappeared too."
(Most importantly Wade's house. We need to get the poor girl out of there.)
As they got by the garage, Zach stopped them. It was unusually quiet. Most of the time you would her metal clanking or some mechanical saw in the background. You guys stay here. Said the boy as he walked into the main office/shop. No one there. Strange. He went in the back where the reparations took place. No one. DAAAAAAAAAD? Yelled the boy. No one. Where are you? Said Zach, scared. Trembling, he went to his dad's work station. There lied a car engine semi-broken with some wrenches and other mechanic tools. His dad's tools. No... No... Said Zach's shaking voice, tears from his eyes. His dad, the only thing he had left, was gone. Zach sat there, on the floor, softly sobbing for a few minutes. He was very close to his dad. So many great memories they shared, so many hours spent together now lost. He needed some time.Chime said:"I suppose so. I'll call my parents when we get to the garage, then." Thanks.Whispered Zach to Casey. Julia came in as he wiped hos tears. I'm hungry. Said the girl. Let's get you something to eat. Said Zach with bloodshot eyes. He went over towards the lounge area. It was barely a lounge. It was a smallish room with a couch, a sofa, a desk with a computer and a coffee table with a cofee machine and yesterday's newspaper. There was also a mini-fridge. The temperature in the room was a cool 17 degrees celcius. Zach looked in the mini-fridge. Let's see: a few sodas, a half eaten hanburger, some fries, aha, a small strawberry milkshake from the convienience store. The mechanist's son got that out, thinking it would please the girl. Here, take this. Said Zach as he tended the dink to the girl who avidly took it from his hands. I think we should head to Alex's place, see how he's going. Said the boy, recovering from his small breakdown.Iskolde said:Casey walked in after Thuy and her face conformed to that of deep concern when she found her boyfriend sitting on the floor sobbing. She jumped forward past where Thuy knelt and grabbed Zach's face with her hands,"Hey, it's gonna be okay. It'll be okay." She pulled him into a hug, sighing.
@Infinatis @Chime
(Sorry for the lateness!)
Haha, alright. I'm going to find. Alex. Where do we meet? Asked Zach, grabbing Julia by the hand.Iskolde said:Casey grinned as she watched Thuy march off toward a house. Turning to Zach, she gave him a sympathetic smile,"You alright with watching the kid? I think I'm gonna go with Thuy, I don't think she likes me very much." Casey turned to look at the girl currently angrily stalking towards the house of her choice and ringing the door bell.
@Infinatis
Casey glanced around and then shrugged, "Back here, I guess, that would be the best spot I think." She crossed her arms over her chest and turned to trail after Thuy,"See ya, babe!"Infinatis said:Haha, alright. I'm going to find. Alex. Where do we meet? Asked Zach, grabbing Julia by the hand.
After walking a bit Lucy saw a few kids with toliet paper TPing a house near the police station. The kids looked from 12 to 13. Three of them. They were all boys with pants too big for them, sideways ball caps and hoodies despite the overwhelming humid heat.ApfelSeine said:Lucy had searched her house thoroughly from top to bottom, and yet she couldn't find a single member of her family. It wasn't like them to disappear so unexpectedly, and she couldn't get either her cellphone or landline to work. When she looked outside, her entire street seemed deserted. She ran back inside to check the television, but something was blocking the signal.
"Is it alien abductions or something? That's a bit ridiculous..." Lucy wondered aloud, shaking her head at her own theory. She continued to search the house, calling out to her parents and younger brothers. As expected, she got no response. Taking a deep breath to calm herself down, she decided that there wasn't anything left to do but report what was going on to the police. She grabbed her brown book bag and slung it over her shoulder. After unpacking the textbooks and homework, Lucy hurriedly stocked her bag with plenty of granola bars and water bottles, making certain to stash a first aid kit as well. She wasn't certain how long she would be out there, but the police station was quite a long walk from her house. It never hurt to be prepared.
Lucy walked for about a block in the direction of the police station, and she was soon surprised to see that she wasn't completely alone. It was a bit of a relief to see several other people around, even if none of them were adults. She walked along the sidewalk towards them, wondering which of them to approach first.
Casey huffed as she came up beside Thuy,"He's not precious, and I only came cause if we're stuck her with no parents I'd like us to not hat each other. So, yea, can we not hate each other?" She asked, trying to turn the door knob to the house they were currently trying to get in.Chime said:Thuy turned, hearing Casey. "So you're going to leave your precious boyfriend behind?" she asked. I'm not bitter. Totally not bitter. Totally, definitely not bitter.
What does it look like? We're getting back at M.Ferald. Yelled the taller boy of the group with a bit of a scrawny voice. He was very thin and short, but tall compared to his two comrades. And who are you, our mom?ApfelSeine said:"Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" Lucy called out to the three miscreant boys, her voice automatically shifting into her stern babysitter's tone. She marched right up to them and placed her hands on her hips, her normally sweet features twisted into an intimidating look of disapproval. She was used to dealing with misbehaving boys, and had no qualms reprimanding them.
He got us grounded! For a week! Yelled the other one while throwing another roll around the man's house.ApfelSeine said:"No, but I don't have to be your mom to tell you that what you're doing is wrong," Lucy said, shaking her head. "Heck, I'm sure you already know that it's not okay to do something like this."
Her voice softened somewhat as she crouched a little to look the boys straight in the eyes, but the firmness in her tone was still present.
"What did this guy do that makes you feel like you need to do this?" she asked.
It's none of your business! Now go away! Yelled the boy while getting out of Lucy's grip.ApfelSeine said:"I see. You're angry right now," Lucy said, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder. "And this is how you're choosing to express your anger at him. But you guys know that this isn't going to change what happened. It's not fair to direct all your anger at this one guy. Is it really only his fault that you were grounded? Be honest now."
Before Lucy could finish her sentence, the last boy who had yet to speak threw his roll at Lucy, softly chucking. The others, seeing this, decided to run over the fence to the other street of houses, the one who threw the roll quickly following.ApfelSeine said:Lucy put her hands back on her hips.
"If you think I'm just going to walk by and let you do something you'll regret, you've got another thing coming," she said. "When you do something wrong, you have to face the consequences. And if it wasn't wrong then you have to stand up for yourself. But if you think you can just do stuff and no one will pay any attention to you, then you're wrong."
