The story begins with a Weyland-Yutani(W-Y) sponsored luxury resort being taken over by a group of radicals attempting to reveal a 'secret project' that W-Y is working on in a lab hidden in said resort. In response to this a USCM platoon is sent in on a hostage rescue operation. This operation is a joint operation with a small squad of W-Y Commandos/PMC/Security/whatever. Unbeknownst to the platoon sent in, W-Y has infiltrated the terrorists and actually implanted one of them with a chestburster. As the marines fight their way in to rescue the hostages, the chestburster is released (I'm just assuming Weyland-Yutani used some form of 'stasis' to control when the little fella would pop out and do its thing) By the time the squads get there the chestburster as escaped. And what started as a simple rescue operation quickly becomes a fight for survival as well as a discovery of a dark secret.
No I can hear what you're saying. "Duarte, this sounds awfully generic." To which I respond. "Yes, yes it does.". This is basically just the starting point for the story and the only part I have set in stone. The rest I leave open to develop on its own. The idea here is that this point allows anyone who wants to join in to do so with ease. And by the time we get to the main story kicking off, we can use the firefight to pick off any extra marines/W-Y people/civilians/etc that aren't being played by anyone.
Now I imagine this falling more on the Alien side of the setting than the Predator side, but I'm not against a Predator or two showing up. I just haven't worked out a good way for them to do so at this time... Oh, and the 'dark secret' is not Xenomorph based, or at least not directly. That's all I can say... Mostly due to the fact that its all I've worked out for it yet.
The species I'm allowing to be played in this story are Humans(clearly), Synth-Err.. I mean... Artificial Persons, though this would be limited to only a few. And maybe, maaaaaaaaybe the Predators, assuming a valid reason for them to be there comes up. AND that he/she is fairly balanced. While I'm not going to do any stats or dice rolls, I don't want one character to be unstoppable compared to all the others. Also, if any Predators are played, I'm highly limiting that one to three at the most. The only species I'm not allowing to be played at all are the Xenomorphs, they are purely antagonist and NPC. If there's any other species I didn't mention OR you have a neat idea you think might work, just run it by me and I'll see if it fits.
I had a longer more in depth thing typed up earlier but it got deleted instead of saved so I had to rush this one up before heading out. So, pardon the brevity.
