FabulousTrash FabulousTrash So just wondering in the Azai clan would someone who did not inherit the Samurai class be able to become one? Asking mostly since it said that they break many traditions so I was wondering if that was one of them.

Hiromasa carries three weapons total. The first is a ō-naginata of 230cm with 170cm shaft size and a 60cm blade making it an extremely tall weapon. He is rather skilled in using it despite it huge size being able to swing it with ease, he usually only uses it when outnumbered or against someone using a weapon with more reach than a katana.

His next two weapons are both the same two Katana's simply crafted both with a blade length of 60 cm. When in a situation that his ō-naginata becomes useless he often switches to one of these Katanas. He uses a unique style of Iaijutsu consisting of drawing two blades within a small time frame rather than a single one.

Other Information
Personality:
Hiromasa can be described as an individual who has achieved everything in his life through self-motivation and the ability to rely on his own choices, skills, intelligence and power. He doesn't believe in fate, nor does he believe in luck. He never had access to the miracles of the world, and constantly has a belief that anything fortunate that has happened to him is because of the efforts of himself, or the efforts of someone else for him.

Therefore, Hiromasa can be seen as an independent man. He doesn't enjoy others doing things on his behalf, for he believes that it is an injustice to a person's self-value and ability to do things for themselves. As a result, he also encourages everybody else around him to become strong and be able to do things on their own two feet, without assistance from anybody with them. For once individuals are able to achieve their own self-worth, identity and the path that they are able to take for themselves, they will automatically gain the charisma they desire in order for others to follow their wishes. However, despite encouraging such individuality, Hiromasa doesn't allow people to be selfish and not think for those around them - particularly those who are less fortunate than themselves. This is due to having been in one of those positions in his lifetime, and requiring only a simple word of encouragement in order to fulfill the dreams that he has conquered till today.

Bio:
Hiromasa Akiyama was not born into a clan, in fact he was not born into a samurai's family instead his family was a family of farmers and Hiromasa spent the first seven years of his life working the farms. At the age of eight a group of bandits came and attacks the farm slaughtering the Akiyama family, Hiromasa was the only survivor thanks to the timely arrival of a group of Azai samurai who was hunting the bandits. Hiromasa managed to survive the attack by hiding under the body of his father who shielded Hiromasa from an attack. As the battle between the samurai and the bandits ended with the samurai winning Hiromasa came out of hiding and the Azai samurai took Hiromasa back to the Azai clan's land and took him in as an Azai clan member. Originally he was farming for the clan but at the age of ten, he began training to become a soldier thanks to the strength he had built up from years of farming he was stronger than most his age.

Hiromasa spent the next ten years focusing on training while keeping up his farming job he found he had a particular skill from quick drawing and over time developed a duel wielding version of Iaijutsu. The way he trained was to mimic what he saw others doing but eventually, he found his own style. Finally, at the age of twenty, he asked to switch to becoming a soldier in the Azai clan. Originally people thought the request was stupid after all a farmer with no formal training becoming a soldier was absurd. So they made a small trial for him and simple duel using wooden swords. Shockingly the duel was over in one second flat using the quick draw he had been working on his wooden blade landed inches away from his opponent's neck before he even had a chance to react. To Hiromasa he guessed this was a case of overconfidence, the soldier believed they were no way he could lose this but thanks to that he did. After that duel, Hiromasa was accepted as a soldier.

Due to the lack of formal training, the Azai clan began to train up Hiromasa granting him a katana and began to teach him how to use various other weaponry, the Azai clan ensured that Hiromasa was taught Iaijutsu due to his skill shown in the duel. Hiromasa spent the next year in formal training with the Azai clan. It wasn't until he was twenty-one that he was sent on his first patrol. Around three-quarters of the way through the patrol, the group got ambushed by a large group of bandits. Hiromasa picked up a large ō-naginata from one of his fallen comrades and told the rest of his group to run saying that they weren't a point in losing us all and that he'ss (being Hiromasa) would by the time they would need and that's what Hiromasa did. Using the range of the ō-naginata along with his endurance he forced the bandits to follow him taking them down one by one, he was lucky in the sense that none of them was using a Yumi meaning it was a case of dividing and conquering and it worked out well for the most bit. He managed to defeat seven of the group using this tactic, however, while a ō-naginata's main advantage over a katana is its range it can also be its downfold.

As the battle got more and more intense and Hiromasa got more and more tired his swings got slower and slower as did his running speed allowing three opponents to catch up with him. As he swung his ō-naginata he was late allowing one of the bandits to dodge and counter, the bandit's blade struck Hiromasa's forehead but thanks to quick reflexes Hiromasa managed to dodge a lethal hit but it still connected heavily causing blood to pour into his eyes, now heavily sight impaired things were looking bad. Hiromasa dropped the ō-naginata and drew one of his katana's slicing the bandit throat after making impact Hiromasa replaced the blade into its sheath. Placing both his hands on his blades tsuka (hilt/handle) he looked forward towards the two who both ran away luckily for Hiromasa, he may not have noticed it but he had been taking hits thought this whole battle and it had been affecting him more than he expected. Picking up the ō-naginata he used it as a walking stick attempting to get back to the Azai clan's town and somehow through pure will he managed it and as one might say the rest is history. At the age of thirty, he attempted to become a Samurai thanks to the Azai clan being like they are a task was set for him which he managed to past.
Would you want to talk about their relationship? Two of the best warriors and samurai among the clan at similar age would surely not have never seen each other.
