Akirai: Diamond Saga [Inactive]

Mythina's eyes widened as everything came to life. She looked around, dumfounded. She was kinda disappointed when it stopped.

"Maybe it's 'cause my momma's a Elf that I'm not afraid!" she grinned, jumping up. She crawled onto Arranseer's lap and asked, "Why are you so patient? And calm? And quiet?"

"MYTHINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Suddenly, there was a a loud crash from above and Kiara was free falling through the air, a wooden sword over her head.

"AHAHHAHAHAHHHHHH!" Mythina screamed, leaping up and trying to run off. Kiara bodyslammed the girl onto the ground.

"Kiara why are you so meeeeean...." the girl whimpered from underneath the weight of her teacher.

"You shouldn't be here the forest is dangerous!" she snapped.

Arranseer sat there, watching the two sprawled on the ground.

He played a single not on his pipes and roots came out of the ground, picking Kiara and Mythina off the ground and set them down on leaf-chairs.

"Are the two of you hurt?" Arranseer asked quietly. He played another quick note and the roots sunk back into ground.

Mythina shook her head and snarled, "Thankfully, I'm not! What were you trying to do, fatso, KILL ME?!"

"Hey, watch your mouth!" Kiara growled, smoothly hiding her aching hand behind her back. She must have sprained it on impact. "Mythina, I've told you over and over again not to come here. Especially not alone, you have no idea what could be--"

Mythina interrupted her and said, "I wasn't alone! Arranseer was here, and there's nothing in the forest to be afraid of!"

Kiara narrowed her eyes, then glanced at Arranseer. Her expression softened a bit, and she muttered, "It...it doesn't matter."

She looked back at the pouting girl and sighed.

"You're safe." she muttered. "That's all that matters."

"The woods is not a dangerous place." Arranseer protested softly.

He did not like people thinking the forest was bad.

"She is safe and always will be. I watch these woods as well. Mythina would not be harmed."

Kiara looked back at him, and let her eyes lock on his. She tilted her head slightly, and then shook her head.

"See, I told you--"

"Shut up." Kiara huffed, glaring over at the girl. She looked back at Arranseer and nodded.

"Hey, Kiara, what's wrong with your hand?" Mythina asked, reaching over to Kiara, who pulled away.

"I-I must of hurt it while training." she shrugged.

~ Aion, the Drunken Tavern ~

With his gentle tangerine orbs closed in the feeling of ecstasy, Aion grinned stupidly as he welcomed in the coldness of the tavern floor, letting it seep through his sweat soaked clothing and cool his burning back. It had been awhile since he had felt so comfortable, so refreshed, so thankful to be out of the reaches from the burning sun.

Obviously aware of him being a blockage for people entering the tavern, the halfling didn't care as he opened his eyes and reached up at the ceiling, staring at his glove covered calloused hands. It made him think of all the training he had been doing, all the training that Anzu bashed on him on top of the travelling. But, he was happy. He was grateful that Anzu even allowed him to come along with her, even if it did take a lot just for the Tlavoon woman to even cast a glance at him, an orphan child who lived on the streets.

Another voice broke Aion out of his train of thought. It seemed that the person was talking to him, yes, him, the half Ancient and half Tlavoon boy that laid comfortably on the floor, a blissful look on his face. Although the man had spoken rather fast, Aion quickly caught on, after all, Anzu tended to speak quickly and quietly whenever they came across a dangerous situation, which happened a lot actually.

"My name's Aion," With a quick, and almost effortless movement, Aion jumped up to tower above the Kilaian man, a silly seemed to be plastered onto his face. The young Tlavoon/Ancient boy took note of something stirring within the white locks of the Kilaian man, but brought his gaze back down to the actual man himself. "What's your name?" Beaming in a childish kind of way, the corners of Aion's lips turned up into a bright smile that showed off his pearly whites.

Kids, don't do this. Remember about Stranger Danger.

~ Anzhelika Taisiya Yekaterina, the Drunken Tavern ~

Leaning on the counter of the bar, the beautiful Tlavoon woman sipped her vodka elegantly as she easily ignored the stares that she was getting from all around the room. Of course, the bounty hunter was quite famous, sometimes in a way that it would be considered infamous, for her strength and skill. Then again, there was also that overall part of humiliation from a few due to her older brother stealing her job, but not many people were foolish enough to talk about it in her presence of even let Anzhelika know that they were gossiping about her.

However, call it woman's intuition, but Anzhelika knew. She just never said anything, she only glowered silently.

Anzhelika knew that it would be foolish to bring Aion into a tavern, especially one called the Drunken Tavern. But, she hoped that the boy was smart enough to stay away from strangers and not accept anything from them. Unless it was free, then take it and she'll find some sort of way to use it and benefit from whatever it was.

But, the Tlavoon woman really did think Aion was smart enough. And it turned out he wasn't. Anzhelika knew there was raw potential and talent in Aion, which is why, after long sessions of begging and simply annoying the woman, she accepted to bring him along and teach him the way of the sword, and overall battle of course.

With her experience in war strategies, and even overall strategies, Anzhelika thought that Aion could be the perfect pupil to pass down her knowledge and continue on her legacy. There were even moments in the few months she had been with Aion that Anzhelika thought of the possibility of adopting the orphan boy, but decided against it, thinking it would be best to focus on his training for now.

Now, there she was. Towering dominantly over the tiny Kilaian man who was obviously a pedophile. The white hair and the way he spoke practically screamed I like little boys! And Anzhelika would not allow it. As much as she hated to admit it, Anzhelika cared about the boy, a sort of friendship grew between them through their time together. And men who took advantage of others just disgusted her.

So, she stood a few feet behind him, a vicious expression covering her face as a dangerous aura illuminated from her, even scaring away all of the people around her. Anzhelika waited for Aion to handle the situation, but was prepared to start a bar fight if she needed to. Besides, she had enough alcohol to convince the police that it was because no she drunk and couldn't control her actions. But, then again, it took a lot of alcohol to force a Tlavoon out of their soberness, especially this one.

Vaelr was about to reply when a huge Tlavoon woman stepped toward him.

"Oh. A friend." Vaelr said, staring right at the woman.

He held the gaze when suddenly his eyes literally spun around in his sockets.

Vaelr burst out into laughter and held his head, making the eyes stop spinning.

"Spin spin spin. Yes. Surprise! My name is Vaelr. Perhaps you heard of me. Perhaps not. I have a title though. It's nice. I can't wear it on my clothes though. It's a title after all. My name is Vaelr the Farseer. He Who Knows a Lot of Stuff!"

He bobbed his head with a goofy smile.

"You are new. Yes yes. This girl is too. I will show you around that I will! Perhaps you will get some weapons. Missions. Find a target." Vaelr said, giving Anzhelika a sly look.

"You can't hide from me. Nope nope! Come on now! Let's go."

The Tlavoon woman narrowed her eyes down at the Kilaian man, a scowl growing on her face. Crossing her arms over her rather large chest, Anzhelika took a few steps, completely passing the pedophile Kilaian, and signally for Aion to follow her as well with a gentle brush on his arm.

Anzhelika knew that she was quite famous for her bounty hunting, most of the money she got was from battling monstrous beasts or saving a damsel in distress, but there were those dark parts of her occupation. Assassination. A part that Anzhelika was careful not to mention with Aion, even though he knew about it, but as much as he acted like one, Aion wasn't a child.

No, he definitely wasn't a child.

One thought: "B-but...the cold...!"

"Too much talk. Not enough knowledge." Vaelr said and gestured the group to follow him (@Darth Pai @PandaaPopsiclee )

He turned and waddled out of the room, muttering random words.

Pixy flew around the group and bowed to them in apology. She pointed to Vaelr behind his back and knocked on her head, twirling her finger in a circle motion. She gestured for them to follow however and flew off after Vaelr.

[QUOTE="Rai-Chan]Kiara looked back at him, and let her eyes lock on his. She tilted her head slightly, and then shook her head.

Arranseer got up and gently pulled a leaf from a nearby tree, rubbing it until turned into a mushy substance.

"Here. Rub this over your hand." He said, giving her the substance on her uninjured hand.

He look around the woods, frowning for a moment.

"Perhaps it is time for you to return. Those who cannot understand the forest should not stay for too long." He said quietly.

Kiara blinked at the strange substance that she was now holding. She carefully applied it to her hand, and the pain soon faded from it.

"Thank you." she mumbled, blinking in disbelief as Mythina grinned. Kiara grabbed Mythina by the hand and ackowledged Arranseer with a nod as she started to head off.

Mythina hadn't even noticed she left behind her book.

"You like him." the girl grinned as she looked up at Kiara, who flushed red again.

"You're stupid."

"But you don't deny it?"

Kiara was silent.

"Okay...I'm Kula..the.." She stopped, not really knowing what to call herself yet, as she didn't know the ways of this village. She watched Vaelr spin his eyes. "The...the..traveler? Or..the.." She stopped again, still wondering what the right word was.

((**Filler Post; just giving some backround on Kiara's fear of the forest...I recommend Aki reads this x3))

Kiara continued walking, Mythina trailing along at her side. She kept the image of his face in her mind, no matter how many times she told herself to erase it. He was...so different. She had met many different kinds of men; the ones who were obnoxious, the ones who were shy, and the ones who were seemingly perfect. He was...strange. He had no fear.

How can he be so...at peace there?

Kiara involuntarily was flooded with memories of a particularly terrifying moment of her life.

~Flashback~

Young seven year old Kiara bounced happily through the forest, swinging her "sword" around her head and then slamming it harmlessly into the ground. Her long hair was tied back, and she was wearing nothing but a plain white dress that went just to her knees. She was barefooted...who needed shoes when the grass was this soft?

She laughed to herself, then noticed a very soft whimpering noise. The curious girl listened, and then began searching for the source of the noise. It didn't take her long to see a young Floppy-Eared Antelope, one of the most gentle of the animal kingdom, with a large gash in it's side...wait...two gashes. Not just gashes.

Fang marks.

Kiara looked around, her heart starting to race. She glanced around cautiously...it was still day, but the tall tree tops shadowed the forest. Kiara took a few steps back from the animal. Kiara didn't know much about animals, but something with teeth that large would be big trouble if the girl had the misfortune of running into it.

Kiara froze.

Something was watching her.

Everything was absolutely silent. Kiara held her breath as she let her eyes focus on a large opening in the brier patch.

The silence was shattered by the sharp scream of the seven year old as a huge snake burst from the opening...according to all laws of science, they snake should have had no trouble killing her instantly.

But it didn't. It merely tore a fang down her arm, and then to the sound of a loud crash, slithered away...it knew something that made a crash so loud was a much bigger meal.

By this time, the fear and pain was enough to send Kiara falling to the ground unconscious. She woke up about an hour later, just outside the forest and hearing the sound of her aunt calling her name. Her arm was sore...but bandaged.

~End of Flashback~

Kiara never found out what had made the loud crash that had saved her life, but she could only assume it was the person who had dressed her wound...and even though she survived, that day left Kiara with an amazing fear of the forest. She'd never set foot in one unless her reasoning was amazing, such as going to find Mythina.

Kiara sighed and rubbed at her arm.

"What's wrong, Kiara?" Mythina asked, raising her eyebrows.

Kiara looked down at the girl and smirked, "Nothin'...hey, do you like snakes?"

"No!"

"Good."

Kula followed him, pulling out her sword. "No, this is my weapon. I mean, I could use another one.." She said, observing her swords thick, green glow. "It's enchanted." She said, the actual name of it on the tip of her tounge. Exerion, that's it. "It's called the Exerion." She said, standing up tall when she said it. She knew it was the only one of it's kind.
