Keep your enemies close, and your friends DEAD!
Ethoria and Taiga have been at each other's throats for generations. In fact they don't know how long the rivalry has even been going on for or at this point even what really brought it on. Finally Ethoria decides it's time to put all the fighting behind them. They propose an arranged marriage of sorts to unite the countries and bring the fighting to an end. Taiga agrees, but instead of sending a princess, they send one of the princes as a giant 'f*ck you' to Ethoria. Yuu says he was sent because the princess was already promised to another but his family really wanted this treaty. Of course his behavior and attitude towards Lucas and his people said otherwise. So Ethoria and Lucas are trying to take this as seriously as possible, while Yuu and Taiga are just trying to p*ss them off enough for another war to break out. Will love find a way? Will war ensue? Are they doomed to just hate each other for reasons unknown to all of them for all of eternity?
The summons to the royal palace had surprised Yuu. It wasn't like his family to ask him to return home. They knew how important his training was to him and, quite frankly, were proud of his prowess on the battlefield. He was a true Taiga prince through and through. He could have rejected the summons from his father, but he had been curious. If his father was asking for his return, it must have been something important.
After a few moments of deliberation the male had decided to return to the palace. His early childhood home. Of course, with his childhood being spent in the military academy, he didn't have very many memories from living there. But whenever he visited it was always nice. The ride home had been quick, without the burden of a guard Yuu was able to make it home swiftly on horseback. Of course, when you were one of the most deadly people in an entire realm people didn't really target you anyways.
Once he had arrived home, he was taken to the study. It wasn't a room he was familiar with, whenever he had come home the boy had spent his time sparring with the soldiers on the palace grounds. There was a window, and bookshelves, along with a desk. It was rather tidy for a study, but his father had a thing about cleanliness and order. Cleanliness was next to holiness after all, right? His siblings sat in the room along with his mother. She sat near his sister and his younger brother, always protective over her two babies. His older brother was in a chair near their father's desk and their father sat at the head of his desk. A single piece of rolled up paper in front of him. From the look on his family's face they weren't sure why they were there either but, the king wasn't going to leave them speculating for long.
Upon his announcement of the Ethorian's treaty offer, the room took a slightly heavy atmosphere. It didn't last long, Yuu broke the silence quickly. It was laughable, to think that they would even think to agree to such a thing. "They're fools, all of them. How could they even believe we'd agree to something like that?"
"Do they think they're being noble by trying to bring the fighting to an end?" His older brother, Sa, spoke up as well, an incredulous look on his face.
"We should kill them all for even thinking that we'd agree to it." Yuu interjected again.
"Yeah kill them all!" The youngest son, Mes, parroted with a smile thrusting his fist into the air.
"Shut up. No one cares what you have to say."
"Yuu, don't speak to your brother that way." The queen scolded her second son.
"He's done nothing to earn my respect. I will speak to him however I'd like." With a sneer he turned away from his mother.
"Yuu, respect your mother's wishes." His father said as he unrolled the treaty offer once more looking it over.
"We're getting off track here. I'm not marrying one of them. I'd rather kill myself." Yuna, the only daughter of the king and queen crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.
"That's a bit dramatic. You should be happy at least someone in the world wants to marry you." Sa smirked teasing the ill-tempered girl.
"Excuse me? I can marry any man I want."
"Yet, no man wants you."
"You're all missing the point. We need to decide if this is a serious offer, and if it is we need to decide if we're going to accept." The king spoke again, pulling attention back to the issue at hand.
"Of course it's not! And even if it was, why would we accept. That would mean we'd be giving in to them. And I will not let that happen while I'm still breathing." Yuu replied adamantly.
"Well... how should we find out if it's real then....?" Sa asked. It took a bit more back and forth, but hours later the family had settled on a way of testing if it was actually a genuine offer. As well as giving them the chance to harass their biggest enemies.
That was why Yuu was now in a carriage, with all of the curtains drawn, patiently waiting for them to arrive at the Ethorian Capital city. He had no idea that they'd been so far away though, and this ride seemed to be going on forever. But if they were genuine he'd be able to tell right away. And if not, he had plenty of training, he wouldn't make it out alive most likely, but he'd definitely be able to take handful of them to hell with him. He had decided to take a nap instructing the driver to awaken him when they had reached the palace.
