After Dark: The Panic at Pleasant Lake revolves around a group of friends who, around Christmas of 1994, decide to take a final big vacation together for winter break their senior year of high school. One friend's family owns a large estate up in the forests of Maine, secluded and separate from the rest of the busy modern world. Soon though, the power goes out and a low growl reverberates through the dark mansion halls. The shadows themselves skulk the grounds and death is all but assured.
Think monster movie meets Amnesia meets Until Dawn.
At the moment, we're torn between doing an RPN/Discord hybrid rp and a 100% Discord rp, but we'd love to hear your thoughts if you're interested
At the very least, the discord server will be required for OOC communication!
The
vibes:
After Dark is primarily focused around horror themes with death around every corner. Player characters must use wits, skills and cooperation to keep from falling prey to a mysterious killer hunting them down. Death is a part of the world; your characters will run risks and experience close encounters with gruesome ends. Only a few lucky individuals will have the chance of making it out alive; but without coordination and the help of your friends, death is assured.
Death doesn't mean the end though! While The Panic at Pleasant Lake is a one-off, short form RP designed to move quickly and not overstay its welcome, we're hoping to be able to do more mini-arcs under the After Dark banner with new characters and new settings once this story is over!
