The ice blast from Korro froze the head of the Dismantler who was about to spew acid at Diorite. The Dismantler collapsed to the ground, its body twitching as meanwhile, the Ravager Queen blocked some of the ice launched its way. With a giant hand, it managed to block the ice that tried to freeze its antennas, but not its eyes as the ice from Korro collided with its face. A cold splash blasted from its head as ice spread over its eyes, temporarily blinding the beast. The Queen let out a furious roar as it now was forced to rely on its other senses, stomping like an angry Elephant as the Entomancer felt a jolt of fear shoot through him. It had been a long time since the fear of death gnawed at the Elf’s mind, since for the first time in centuries, it had seemed that his enemies might have a chance of besting him. He had made it his life’s mission to topple Lyrenia, and now here he was, being threatened by…lowly mercenaries.
The Queen repeatedly swiped at Korro, attempting to snatch him, missing each time as each attempt become more and more closer than the last. The Entomancer then spoke through the mouth of the Queen, bellowing his voice through the throne room, “What did the Humans promise you? Riches? Forgiveness? Legend-status? Or perhaps, something more…” Spoke the Entomancer through the Queen as it reached out to try to encase Korro in its cold grasp.
Meanwhile, while the levitation spell was active, Steel-Mage hovered higher to get visual on one of the power cell sacs. He detected the closest one in their forces’ vicinity that currently no mercenaries had yet begun traversing to. He pointed both of his wand-hands at the target. Combining the efforts of both of his wands, he started charged a large fireball while simultaneously dodging attacks from Dive-Dismantlers as the magic armor Denver had equipped him with was struck by a large burst of acid, staggering the Warforged a bit as the armor took the blow and vanished from reality. Steel-Mage steadied himself in mid-air as he then fired the man-sized ball of fire at the power cell in the distance, sacrificing half of his mana to do so. The fire melted through any bugs in its way punched into the boulder-sized egg sac, exploding the target to pieces as it was effectively neutralized. There were now 3 power cells that needed to be destroyed. Happy to contribute to fighting the forces of evil, Steel-Mage looked down to Kanon as he levitated, something reminiscent of a smile on his hinged metallic jaw,
“Ma’am, I have eliminated one of the power ce-“ Steel-Mage was tackled from the air by six Dive-Dismantlers that worked together to pile-drive him to the ground with such force, dust exploded from the area of impact. From the dust, the winged-bugs dragged Steel-Mage across the ground at high speeds from the momentum gained from the prior mid-air ambush, beginning to claw and tear at his parts as they dragged him deeper into enemy territory.
The Entomancer had briefly noticed Denver’s distress, and sensed weakness. His weakness stemmed from his love of all life, something the Entomancer with a grudge for humanity that he had loyally clinged to for centuries with desperation to avenge his son, could not even begin to comprehend. He made mental note to exploit his weakness later.
Nearby Kanon and Adelynn, Madrias battled intensely. He had been battered a bit, but Denver’s magic armor had saved his life. However, one miss-swing was all it took for a Dismantler to disarm him: Literally. Madrias screamed in agony as blood gushed from the spot where his arm used to be connected to his torso, the flesh around the wound sizzling before he begun to be picked a part by the Dismantlers surrounding him. “SOMEBODY…HELP!!!!” Pleaded the dying man.
