Fantasy Aether: The Age of Light OOC [being rebooted]

Honestly playing as a villain can be a lot of fun, and a player controlled villain can add some interesting moments in the game. They can be someone other charries can fight against, and provide someone actively working against the church which just seems like a really interesting story line

I'm open to secondary characters who are villains, as long as they're clear with me what they're planning from the start and stay on the smaller scale. No trying to bring back the cult of Mykul or anything like that, haha

No fun when I constantly have to cock block.

That's actually what I'm attempting to do with the Trapdoor Drinker. Give the other charies short term jobs that'll split them up into groups of two, while Dain himself goes off and handles his little mage problem. If the guys finish thier jobs, they'll always be able to notify an NPC(basically, anybody in the Trapdoor Drinker, or any beggar), and get their next job from them.

Lulz, Dain just starts handing out jobs to other characters like he's already decided they're all a part of his crew.

Well, remember that there's a cut off in 2 days and then other things start that might prevent these from being finished. As long as they're small scale and checked with me first to make sure there's no issues - it's all good. Obv as long as the other players are happy with that too. hah

Your not being a cock block! xD We just get ideas and like to see what our limits are xP

Lulz, Dain just starts handing out jobs to other characters like he's already decided they're all a part of his crew.
Dain: "You're hired, here's your first job."
Belegor/Lynn/Crow: "Wait, what?"

Dain: "You're hired, here's your first job."
Belegor/Lynn/Crow: "Wait, what?"

Dain: "I know, I know, I'm generous to a fault, handing out easy jobs in this economy. Don't worry, though, I won't pay you much, you're no hassle. Feel free to thank me later."

Belegor: "Why do I feel like we're getting the raw end of whatever's happening right now?"

I haven't really put much thought into it, but I expect Alcamoth has a smaller crime rate than most. Free education from the church, high security, strong economy. No doubt there is a seedy underbelly as there is in all cities though.

That may be the case, but the largest city in the world likely would have the largest criminal underbelly

I haven't replied on this one in a while, sorry for that guys! Also, Pai Chan Pai Chan was wondering about the idea of making Aurora an anti-hero, based on some character from Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. He wasn't able to get since the site was done for a while. :)

Ugh, finally we're back. What I was GOING to say -

If anyone is interested in playing a villain and wants to help me buff out the DarkBloods - who will be the antagonists in chapter 1 onwards, lemmie know. <3

The Spiders always need more help

Oh, don't worry. It'll be stuff like "Case this guys house", "follow this lad undetected", or "Make sure this dickhead fucks off, anyway you want", and for Lynn probably something a little harder, like "case the crowd gathered around Dhaunae the Magician when he preforms". Simple stuff, ya know?
Dain: "I know, I know, I'm generous to a fault, handing out easy jobs in this economy. Don't worry, though, I won't pay you much, you're no hassle. Feel free to thank me later."
Dain's payin them 20-80 eilver a job.

There's always crime. You've just got to look in the right places.
Vakaris is the crappy crime hub. but yeah, for sheer population.
I've been working on this idea for a little while on the crime syndicates, but I'll fully reveal it now. The idea is that all the groups I've mentioned (The Spiders, Nadders, Gophers, Etc.) are all different sections of the same group, aka The Organization. Each group focuses on different things, but can branch into ther fields and tend to bicker amongst eachother. So, there's a yearly competition where any man can compete to become the King of Thieves by stealing certain items, such as a nobles house ring, or a guard captains private journal. Whoever obtains it and brings it back becomes King of Thieves until the next competition. As King of Thieves, the victor must "lead" the gangs, and handle anything the Organization considers to be a major threat to it's survival, or anything that would challenge the Organization (such as Markku). If they fail to handle the threat, then they are often removed, and replaced with the last King of Thieves, in this case, Kimble the Quick.

That Organisation does sound very interesting buddy, kudos for thinking it up! It sounds like something that could have been already written in a fantasy book! :)

Don't see a problem! Church wouldn't care about petty crime - not their department. Normal Guard would be against them usually.

Thought so. Hence why the Organization spends roughly fifty gold a year on bribes alone.
