Ad Astra Per Aspera (BESM 3rd Edition) - OOC

I've added a new entry to the Organisations tab, Hainshin Heavy Industries and a couple of the cool toys they produce.

Captain Hesperus

I am much farther behind than I'd hoped. I finally (a week late) have most of my character's stats penciled in. I still need to come up with a location and an organization, though I have ideas for both. I would hope to have the character posted by this time tomorrow. If I don't please feel free to message me that I'm late.

Oh, I need a technology as well? I may have come up with that. :)
Yeah, one technology (in the Mechanics tab), one location and one organization.

Captain Hesperus

>_>

<_<

Sorry, Cecily doesn't do that sort of thing.

Not without an expensive shopping trip and dinner first...

Captain Hesperus

Just gonna say I'm loving the RP so far, looking forward to the strange relationships that are sure to develop with all the current and incoming characters. ONWARD to Ganymede!!

@Thorn Darkblade[/URL] @Blackadder Did you see the startings of my take on Alan's ship? I wouldn't mind a little bit of input about the details: Ad Astra Per Aspera (BESM 3rd Edition) | Page 5 | RpNation.com - Best Roleplay Forum

The picture you had picked was good. Personally, I'd take the Mini-laser and distribute the points elsewhere. Maybe like Features for more cargo, concealment caches, etc.

Yeah, it's the cargo rules that get me. The basic BESM rules are confusing when it comes to cargo:

Features (Extra Capacity)
This is a very common technological feature for vehicle

and location Items, but it can also be applied to anyone large

enough to carry someone inside itself, such as a living starship

or a god with a city in its body. Assigning it once allows one

extra person or up to 100 kg of cargo to be carried. Each

extra assignment of Extra Capacity doubles this, following

slow progression (Table 4-1; page 15); thus, Features (Extra

Capacity 3) allows an extra 4 people or 400 kg. This capacity

is in addition to the one person that is assumed to fit inside a

vehicle or location. It can be assigned any number of times, but

unless the character or Item is bigger inside than it is outside, an

appropriate Awkward Size (page 94) should also be assigned.
So with this in mind, the progression would be:

LevelCapacity
11 person/100kg
22 people/200kg
34 people/400kg
48 people/800kg
516 people/1600kg
632 people/3200kg
764 people/6400kg
8128 people/12800kg
9256 people/25600kg
10512 people/51200kg

So a ship with Extra Capacity 10 could carry 512 people or 51.2 metric tonnes (just over 50 Imperial tons). What level of Extra Capacity would you want, and would you want any of it converted to allow 'passengers'?

That maximum would probably be about 5-6 in terms of people. And looking back, you might as well keep it at rank 7-8 for Extended Capacity total.

AND SO I GET THE DOUBLE 6 AFTER I'VE CAUGHT A BULLET ALREADY!!!

~~~ :(
Combat's already started, so, too late for me, but I totally forgot my +3 initiative for Lightning Reflexes lol.
ALSO, I mentioned it to Hesperus already, but, once we get the initial character meetings finished and are a coherent, if dysfunctional, group, and reach Ganymede, I'm going to open up a call for 'episodes'
For those who don't remember from the initial recruitment page, what this means is, while I'm running the main plotline, I'm giving everyone a chance to run side stories. It's part of the reason I want everyone contributing lore to the world as well, it's a group story.
Couple rules:
-The major metaplot, including what's so special about this ship, is under my purview
-Don't step on any plotlines established by other players first.
-If something I, or another player, interests you but you're not sure if it was a plothook or just a loose end, ask them. Who knows? They might like your idea and give you permission to roll with it
-The plotline cannot have your character as the central focus. If there's cool stuff about your character's backstory that you want an adventure about, ask someone else to run it (Speaking of which, I got Wren bits I wanna see someone take and run, :P )
Anyone have any ideas yet? It'll be a little bit before we hit there, but, -if- we stay along the general path, we'll either be on or near Ganymede.
Finally, just checkin in:
@Meredith , @Millershipper , checkin in with you guys, seein how it's coming.
@Eplov , you alive? And, another shoutout to @Pentagon , although I'm pretty sure they ded.
The rules for that, all fair enough.
As for how Sieth's coming... he's coming? I have most of the stats I wanted for his character and have to work on items. Again, apologies for how damn long this had took/is taking. I'm just about dying of essays already. Am excited to jump into the roleplay, though.
That's all well and good, but my character wasn't designed for close range combat. Her normal MO is sitting on a rooftop half a mile away, putting high-caliber rounds through peoples' faces. Though she may invest in something later. (Also, I was out of points)
Captain Hesperus
Slight miscalculation. You'll take minimal damage (3) on my hit. Ranged Combat applies to damage as well, so, my ACV with that weapon is 8, not 5. Still, only a scratch.
