Act 1 Scene 4 - In the Morning you know you won't remember.. [Broken Memories]

Brian looks over and smiles at the bed Pete is lying in.

"So how you..." Brian stops mid-sentence, his face drops and all colour leaves it. "Sinastra."

The doors of the hospital fly open and close, of Brian there is no sign.

Fin

Fin happened to be walking in and was about to cuss up a storm when suddenly he heard Brian and then saw hi, or not at all, dissapear. "Oh hell, not the woman. She makes damned good food." And with that Fin was out the door and barreling back towards the familiar restaurant.

From where he was resting on the hospital bed, Simon watched as both Brian and Fin barreled out of the building.

"Ok, I just missed something there," he muttered in his essence-distorted voice. He shifted his legs up to lie down as the pain he still felt throbbed through his body. "Though, to be honest, I don't think I can actually care at the moment..." He covered his eyes with his arms to keep the lights from blinding him.

Doctor Oak appears back in the hospital reception area, he looks down to where Kitty lays and over to the unrecognisable figure of Simon the lights and anima flaring around him.

"Oh dear, oh dear dear me."

Meanwhile outside Fin can see a just see a blur of a figure ahead of him as it leaps from roof top to roof top rapidly outpacing him, but definitely heading toward the Coconut Tree Cafe. When Fin eventually reaches the familiar cafe its friendly facard is gone. The road outside the cafe is deserted and the tables that were outside are scattered up and down the road. The whole front of the cafe has been destroyed, blown in to the restaurant, as if some massive explosion occurred just outside its front door. All the inside tables are pushed shattered, broken and pushed up agaist the back wall. The cooking area is a state, broken crockery, furniture and glass are embedded in the counter and the back wall. Of Brian there is no sign.

wits+aw roll

Fin notices that an area of the floor near to the cooking counter is clear of debris and a pile of debris lies in a line at the edge of this area. A trap door. Fin can also smell blood, from a number of people.

The trapdoor opens and out bursts Brian. His hair is disheaveled and there is a wild look in his eye.

"They've taken her.. god they've taken her... " He grasps Fin on the top of his arms in an extremely powerful grip, his eyes almost rolling with panic. His breathing is extremely rapid, about 10 to 15 full breaths a second. "The way out is by the cathedral look for the light over dark,

And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?"

With those final strangely phrased words he blurs past Fin over the wreckage and is gone.

Fin

He sighed and shook his head Here we go again....

"Mommy, can I have a monkey too?" The little boy asked while tugging on his mother's sari as she looked to him with confusion up her face. A quick glance to look at something she though she saw only to realize that she must've been imagining things.

--------------------------------------------------

Fin shifted to monkey form and started to search for the Cathedral.

Sighing, Simon sat back up. Despite the lingering pain he was feeling (and oh, how he was feeling it) the person they had come to see had just bailed on them for some other emergency. And as Simon himself couldn't very well follow at the moment due to the light he was emitting, and the others aside from Fin didn't seem inclined to follow themselves, that meant that they had all just wasted the trip here for the moment.

He shook his head and turned to Doctor Oak. "I don't suppose there's anything to eat here, huh?"

Doctor Oak looks over to Simon.

"Food erm.. yes I see if Doris can knock you up anything, least I can do."

"Me too Doc." Pete yells over. With that Doctor Oak walks up to the door at the end of the room and walks through it.

--

Meanwhile Fin climbs a nearby building and looks over the city skyline he can easily spot the massive sprawling gothic edifice far to the west.

Back in the hospital about five minutes passes before Doctor Oak walks back through the door into the room carrying a tray of what appears to be sandwiches. The aroma of chicken, pork and beef fills Kitty's nostrils as he walks over an puts the fairsized tray down on Brian's desk. On it is an array of cheese and pickle, chicken and stuffing, beef and mustard and pork and apple sandwiches.

----------------------

Out in the city Fin can see people walking through the streets going about their daily business. Now that he is up high and the day is moderately clear he can see the sun shines but the distance he can see is limited. To the North he can see a few miles all the way across the city to the sea, but then something like a curtain of light blocks the view of the horizon. The city itself he can see is laid out before him, the industrial district smokes idly; the middle city seems a picturesque with charming wooden buildings green lawns and tree lined avenues; and the upper city in the distance seems even more idyllic. To the east a curtain a light bysects the warehouse district, a warehouse before the one he can see is Dave's; this curtain runs south west to north east. The west beyond the Cathedral Fin can see the city wall, and beyond another curtain of light.

Fin

The alpha monkey scratched its head curiously and in slight confusion seeing this large walls of light, thinking them strange before shrugging. Worry about that another time. He then leapt to the nearest roof as he continued to race off to the cathedral.

Fin

He moved rapidly using simian limbs, brachiating from terrace to rooftop to wash line. He had to move quickly. Something in Brian's eyes and voice worried him. A desperation like a caged animal. Not a good thing considering what he may truly be capable of.

Fin reaches the cathedral quickly. It is in complete ruins, the roof is gone and most of the walls are only half there. The altar, a large stone block, still rests at the far end of cathedral, otherwise it appears to be empty.

-------------------

Back in the hospital everyone is enjoying delicious sandwiches.

==============

Fin: perc+aw roll please

Fin notices that the altar has a carved representation of a number of people sitting down for a rich meal. All sit on a long table facing the cathedral, there are thirteen people at the table and the central figure seems most predominant. The other figures look to the central one in a pleding or suplicant way. Fin can also feel a breeze coming up from the gap where the stone altar is set into the floor of the cathedral.

-----

Fin

He leapt down to the floor and inspected the gap, wondering which form he would need in order to investigate further.

The gap is no more than a millimetre wide around the altar. It is the central figure that draws Fin's eyes.

And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

Runs through his head again..

Fin

Bracing himself he stood on two legs and began to push the altar. As he pushed his form grew bigger and bigger. Fur and lithe frame were slowly replaced by a large and muscular build, muscles rippling in the process. He stood as a man and would not let this altar keep him away.

The Altar is a stone block of stone as Fin puts his prodigious strength against it he can feel it move ever so slightly, perhaps a millimetre but no more.

Fin

Muscles, bone, and skin moved in a familiar dance as his spirit shape grew from him as much as of him.

Standing on his hind legs, the body of a great cave bear and its dense muscle mass pressed more fully against the stone block.

-------------------------------------------

Str+Athletics now totals 13 instead of 8.

Let me know if he needs more as he is prepared to be stronger as need be.

Fin feels like he is attempting to move creation as he pushes against the stone block, until he readjusts his position and pushes up against the central figure that depresses into the block. He hears a click and the block falls away into the floor, spliting into even steps as it does. Fin waves his hands a few times to stop himself falling into the open open stairway that leads down into the dark.
