Academy of Lunaria: Cursed Changes (SaphireTsuki and Anafal)

Agnes sighed with a smile. "You're never going to get anyone's attention if you speak like that." Rapping loudly on the door, she pushed it open without waiting for a reply. "I am Agnes Mariski, roommate to Saphire Tsuki, and I have come to file the paperwork necessary to have Llsogi, my sword, be an official Artifact." She spoke loudly and clearly, her shoulders set and her back straight. She looked like a warrior going into battle, a fierce expression on her face.

"Ahh... you're the one who transferred in." A smirk, and then an evil laugh that set Saphire's teeth on edge, the woman was old... older than most people could dream of being. So old that you felt the weight of time when you looked at her, but she also held power. Magic pushed off of her in waves, though Saphire somehow seemed to be unaffected by that part or her strength. White hair in a severe bun, skin so folded over that it was difficult to even tell what it's original shape was... and eyes so evil that she looked like some kind of demon. "Very well, papers please?"

Agnes had to fight the urge to draw her sword. This hag's power beat against her like the wings of a thousand birds, but she was strong enough to walk through it like water. Carefully placing the papers on the desk in front of the old woman, she stared into those black and beady eyes. "I trust everything will be in order." Not a threat, simply spoken in a soft and steady come that hinted at nothing but spoke everything about her own strength and the confidence she had in herself.

A slow smirk worked it's way up the woman's face, as though she were pulling the folded skin up with her own hands, and the woman responded, "Good... now then, I'll just go through it... if there's anything else you need?" One hand smoothly pushed the papers to the side, another grabbing a different stack. Saphire noted that it was information on her, again... but a small intake of air form her was all it took for the mostly-amused elder to focus on her, now practically radiating cold. "Yes, Tsuki?"

"I would like to request that Agnes' classes be matched with my own." Steady now, don't waver... "And thus require the necessary paperwork. Would you mind if I take s-some blank ones from your office."

Agnes had to resist the urge to hug the younger girl gently. Ah, she was standing up for herself! It made her feel such joy... This girl wasn't broken yet. Although she didnt let any of her emotion show on her face, Agnes swore that she would let Saphy know how proud she was the moment they were out of war shit of this old hag. Deciding that Saphy had done enough, Agnes stepped forward to take the papers, murmuring a polite thank you while ushering the younger girl out of the room. "I'm so so proud of you..." Agnes whispered, pulling Saphy into a gentle hug.

Saphire blinked, being hugged by Agnes like that... was surprising. She'd seen close friends do this, it was called a hug, but... hadn't had it done to her before. She slowly moved to return it, but didn't seem entirely sure what to do just yet, and so the arms dropped down again. "Why?" She asked, sounding completely confused, head tilting just slightly. She ignored the small flash of color, the way the world looked brighter for just a second again.

"It was very brave of you to stand up for yourself like that. I know she was scary, but I also know that you are much stronger than her, despite her strength." Agnes spoke softly and gently to the younger girl, hugging tighter for a moment before slowly releasing her. "Now, I assume we have the rest of the day to ourselves? Is there a curfew?" Now she was back to her regular state, firing off questions in a business-like manner as the two girls walked side-by-side down the hallway.

Saphire on one hand had to deal with the idea of being stronger... maybe in raw power, but strength wasn't just power, was it? Nevermind, Agnes was asking questions about something. What was it? She shook her head slightly to clear her head and returned to the conversation she was having. "We do, in fact. I think today was a holiday, though I don't remember which. We have to be back in the dorm wing by ten, and in our rooms by eleven." There were common rooms at every other floor of the towers, after all. Women were at the Northern, and men Southern, professors slept at the East, and the Alchemy tower was to the west.

Agnes smiled at her young companion. "Would you like to start your experiments now?" She asked, unbuckling Llosgi's sheath from her belt and offering it to Saphy. "I'm not sure Llsogi can wait any longer." She teased playfully, trying to draw out a smile from the small girl. In truth it was she who could hardly wait, Agnes had been forced to abandon her own experiments about her weapon long ago and now that there was someone else besides her willing to participate, perhaps she could finally figure out the mystery behind her chosen soul weapon.

For a second she looked at the sword, then at Agnes, and then for just a second her whole face lit up in a complete and total sign of happiness... and then she was back to being normal, though the corners of her mouth were still curled upward slightly. She grabbed Agnes' hand, rushing off towards the other side of the castle, somehow still silent despite running, and spoke... "We can study Llsogi later, for now we need to take advantage of the open forge to test how your creations of other Artifacts work!"

With a genuine laugh Agnes allowed herself to be dragged through the hallways, holding on tight to Llsogi so that she wouldn't drop him. Keeping note of the hallways and turns that they went through so that she wouldn't get lost later, Agnes took this time to study the younger girl. She had seemed so extremely happy when she had been given the chance to experiment... It was a clear sign that she was terribly repressed, controlled and dominated by the world around her... And she was finding freedom in the opportunities that Agnes was giving her. With a soft, caring smile she decided with her, Saphy would get every opportunity to be herself.

Up the stairs, though the hall, and a sense of building heat... and there they were! Inside the forge was several stations. One of which was just like it's name... a giant forge for swords, armor, and the like. Titanium ore, silver, iron... any magically conductive metal was available... as long as you could either pay for it or prove it useful. "Which do you want to use today? What kind of materials?"

"Well, Llsogi was created using titanium..." Agnes said, her thoughts turning bitter. Her mother had only wanted the best for her child... Until she realized that Agnes was not a proper magician, and then she was tossed out like yesterday's trash. Shaking her head to clear the bad thoughts away, she smiled slightly at their large surroundings. "This school really is rich." She said softly, almost to herself, before glancing at Saphy. "I'm fine with whatever you want to start with. I have plently of energy, enough to make Llsogis all day."

Saphire smiled slightly, taking out a bag of coins and putting them on top of the counter... where a magic counter appeared. "How much do you need for Llsogi?" She asked the question while taking several bits of the ore out, placing them on the counter, the number on the magic one going up a certain amount. "We're going to be making just one for now... unless you want to try something. THen we can go do something you like to do!"

Closing her eyes, Agnes tried to remember back to her childhood experience... Only to draw a blank on the amount of titanium necessary. "I-I'm sorry, I can't seem to remember..." She flushed slightly. "Just take out enough ore to make a hand-and-a-half sword, Llsogi is only slightly shorter then that." Carefully unsheathing the sword in question, Agnes closed her eyes and lit up the sword in pink flames, preparing herself for the first trial.

Saphire once more nodded, drawing another two ore samples. Looking at the cost... she was almost disappointed. They must have found a new vein of titanium lately, or something better at absorbing and melding with magic. Whatever the case she had plenty of ore now... and she placed the required bits of gold on the counter, where it rapidly was transported to the vault. "Right, here you go."

Gently lowering the top of Llsogi to touch the pile of ore, the pink flames ran from the sword to encase the ore, gradually heating up until it began to contend with the forge for hottest item in the room. The metal was flowing orange now, turning red and on the verge of white even before the metal flowed into a shape resembling that of a sword. Her hair was flying in an invisible wind as Agnes kept her eyes closed, mind fully focused on her task. The pink flames roared loudly, leaping give feet into the air before settling down into a steady blaze, burning for another few minutes before dying out completely. With a small sigh, Agnes opened her eyes, sparks of magic now swimming in her gaze. The newly made sword was rapidly cooking down, revealing the exact same features as the Llsogi Agnes currently held in her hand.

"Facinating... the entire process of forging the blade, finished in just under fifteen minutes." Somewhere in her billowing cape she'd rustled up a notebook and quill, writing even as she watched, not looking down once to see her writing. She didn't need to, having practiced this long enough to trust her hand. And then she set it aside to dry, "M-may I?" it would be interesting to hold the newly forged sword, even if she was sure there wasn't any chance it would react to her.

Agnes glanced at Saphy, her movements rather slow and deliberate. Her gaze, filled with magic, didn't blink and seemed to have a great weight to them as the swordswoman examined her younger companion intensly.

Then she blinked and the magic disappeared like bubbles popping in a glass of champagne. "Of course you can, why wouldn't you?" Agnes said with a smile. "It won't light up unless you push your magic into it, since it wasn't made for you. But I can make one for you if you want."

She gently reached for the sword, always making sure to be able to hold it in such a way she could throw it away if needed. "I have an Artifact, though I don't at all mind if you wanted to make one." It wasn't like she was going to get in trouble for having more than one, as she was given a free license for artifacts. Only because she sold them, though. And only so long as she stayed within the school. It was cool to the touch, but she couldn't sense anything else just yet...

"My artifacts are usually more personal to their wielder, they respond to that person's magic in a way that general artifacts do not." Agnes spoke, smiling at the disappointment clear on Saphy's face. "The blade is not activated yet. As I said before, for someone besides myself, you have to push your magic into the blade for it to work. Try it now so I can observe and make sure nothing bad happens." Not that she thought anything would, but just to be on the safe side....

Saphire tilted her head... "General artifacts don't do it the same way?" She pushed what little magic she could into the sword, using her artifact to draw it out... and barely got a spark. the curiosity on her face didn't dampen any, but she did look just a bit disappointed... of course it wouldn't work. It never worked for her... the block... she couldn't even cast a spell to light a candle, not at all. Nope... better she stay with making artifacts... it was steady money, and plenty of work for it.

Agnes frowned. Even an Artifice shouldn't have a problem making Llsogi 2 burn... Stranding forward, Agnes laid a hand on her own Llsogi and forced Llsogi 2 to burst into flames. "Something... Isn't right here." She muttered to herself, eyes slipping closed as she tried to figure out what was going on. "There seems to be something flawed within the sword itself, a problem with the ofrging process that caused an error in its magic collection..." Agnes sighed and turned to Saphy, opening her eyes and Boeing slightly. "I'm very sorry... I'll remake this sword and it should be much better."

Saphire let Anges have the sword, hand going back to herself as she focused on her hand. Even an Artificer should be able to use Agnes' swords... she being an artificer. Was there something THAT wrong with her? She rarely was able to do anything... how useless was she? They said she had a lot of power, but... she couldn't even touch it. What use was this power if she wasn't able to activate it... if she just got in people's way?

(( xD I totally was gonna drive home that she can't use magic, but that works too.))

(I didn't want to do that! Wah :( I was thinking that maybe the ore was sabatoged...)

Even more worried at the expression on Saphy's face, Agnes struggled to keep calm. She had to make this sword perfect. Casting a small spell to collapse Llsogi 2 back into ore, she once more placed the tip of her original sword upon the mass of metal and summoned her magic. However it died away as quickly as it came and Agnes cursed, knocking the ore to the ground. "Its been tampered with." She delclared in a low and deadly voice, Llosgi responding to her emotions by erupting into pink flame.
