Abyssals and Holy Charms

Where is it stated that Creatures of Darkness cannot use Holy Charms?

I could have swore I read it somewhere, but I can't find the damn rule.

I'm not sure if it's expressly stated that they can't anywhere ( I can't seem to find it either) but considering "holy" type charms are a bane to them, I don't see how they could wield them without dealing aggravated damage to themselves.

But if an Abyssal can buy the Solar Charms that are mirrors of Abyssal Charms and some of them have the Holy tag, how do they pull off using them?  I mean, they already take a point of Resonance just for using the Solar version of the Charm, but the book doesn't seem to mention an additional penalty for using Holy Charms.

MoEP: The Abyssals, page 51:

Because of their pacts with the Neverborn, each
Deathlord can use any Charms she knew during her

lifeâ€â€except those that carry the Holy keyword (not

that a Deathlord would ever willingly use such a Charm

anyway)

WOOT!!!

Thank you.

Makes me almost feel bad about one of my other posts.

(Though, as heartless as I am, almost is about as much as most people are going to get out of me on an apology)

Okay, back on topic:

I think that this pretty much covers what I had seen.

Unless there's another book ruling out there on it.

And in the same book a lot of Solar Mirror Charms substitute some keywords  with Holy in the Solar version, so I guess this reinforce the concept.

But then that begs the question of the mirror-charm that lets Solars use Abyssal-side charms.  Would they then have the ability to use the ones that would otherwise be Holy-flagged?  That seems a bit unbalanced, although TECHNICALLY no one is even aware that a Solar could learn the Mirror-charm that reverses the caste.  Especially if say they don't suffer a Limit point from using a reversed charm...

Hell yeah!  That'd be fraggin sweet!  I'd be insisting people refer to my Abyssal as a Deathlord!

I could see that

Abyssal is trying to chat up a pair of appearance 4-5 laydeez(prolly undead or vampire larpers)

Abyssal: yeah ladies, I'm totally a deathlord. Check it! awesome yet evil powers, mysteeeerious air, gothic complicated name, soulsteel sword that hungers for blood, so hows about you both-

Sword: I HUNGER FOR BLOOD!

*SCHWING!**GLCH!**SCREAM*

Abyssal: oops...so as I was saying, I'm a deathlord, hows about you come back to my place and-

FaFL:*cough*

Abyssal:crap

From what I understand from MoEP: Abyssals, Solars cannot learn Abyssals Charm, since they come from the taint of the Neverborn. The Mirror Charms, are NEW Solar Charms available to Solars who are able to discover them, or any other NORMAL means of learning a Charm. There are no OTHER Mirror Solar Charms than the one listed, so if they are marked as holy they have that keyword.

But that says Deathlords, is Deathlord a blanket term to cover all Abyssals now? I thought that was deathknight...
Fine, but that is the only explicit and direct referrals to Holy charms. In the Chamrs section of the book, it specifies further that no Abyssal Charm can have the Holy keyword, that is replaced by various stuff. I guess we can safely assume that those lines apply to Deathknights as well as Deathlord.

To a degree, you are correct.  Moonshadow and Eclipse castes can freely learn charms from the other side (and other sources).  As far as the 'mirror' tags go, anything with a Mirror tag has an opposite solar version of the charm (or is an opposite version of a solar charm).  That being said, the charm that lets an abyssal fire off solar versions of mirror charms is also mirror in itself, and is possible to teach to a Solar.  An abyssal firing off Solar mirror charms must eat resonance to do so, but I'd almost say that Solars using that charm (however they manage to get it) and firing off Abyssal versions of charms must eat limit.
