  ctober 31st, 1999. The venue? Arsenio Dilaurentis' prized summer home in the countryside: secluded, quiet, and almost utterly unreachable. Outside of the warmer months, the place is deserted-- except for tonight of course, when Arsenio's youngest son is throwing his 18th birthday party, coinciding with his twin sister's annual Halloween rager. By twilight, it's already begun.
  
  
  By morning, it's ended in blood. The survivors catatonic, the interior decor shredded to pieces, the walls forever stained. Like something from a movie, or so the locals in the nearest town say: nobody else ever speaks of it. As is the way, another tragedy comes along and the news cycle spits the massacre out to be forgotten about.
  
  
  
  The police never catch their killer. The house is left to rot.
  
  
  
  
  
  Until tonight, 20 years on! The year is 2019, and a handful of strangers toting mysterious flyers promising the best Halloween of their lives are headed straight for the old estate. It's an open party, the flyer says: all are welcome, that's what makes a party fun. Perhaps most people would be suspicious of such an offer, or disregard it as a prank, but for every ten who do just that, there's always going to be somebody desperate for a good time, or who has something to prove, or who simply doesn't care anymore. It's just one night-- what's the worst that could happen?
  
  
  
  An abandoned house, surrounded by woods, full of strangers. No phone signal, no internet access. At least thirty minutes' drive to the nearest town.
