(@explosiveKitten Oh, okay. I realized that in the character skeleton, I accidentally called Algernon a "lab rat," so I was just making sure you knew.)

Algernon made it to the base of the tree and took off running in the direction opposite the larger animals. He didn't even look back to see how many creatures were there or what species they were. He just ran and ran and ran—until he came across another large rodent-like creature. He came to a halt in front of the creature, who was currently running straight at him, chanting the word "running" over and over again in quick succession.

Sluki

Sluki barely noticed the other group of other animals she was much to interested in the one she was following. It seemed to be looking for something, and certainly was a strange creature. It looked kind of like a mouse that had been streched out.

((Did you guys look at my new character? Her name is Nemesis! :3))

Nemesis

Nemesis wandered around the outskirts of the city, it was a big place, and it took her a while to get here. Then, she smelt several other animals. She dashed into the woods, ready for a fight.

Lily

Lily looked over at the cat, "Why'd you stop climbing? I thought you were gonna leave us to fend for ourselves." She said. She sniffed the air, thinking she smelt a mouse nearby. She walked over to the tree, and stuck her claws into it.

Shadow

Shadow sighed, cats had such a short attention span. "Lily? Don't you think you'd better pay attention?" He asked her.

Muffin

Muffin saw her mother begin climbing a tree, she slowly walked over, to see what caught her mom's attention. She began following her mother up the tree's thick trunk.

"RunningrunningrunningrunningstoppingcrashingALERTALERT!" During Drake's very not sneaky searching for his owners, a little furry thing appeared out of nowhere! Right in his running path! Unable to move in time (And due to the fact ferrets don't have that good of eyesight and depth perception), he barreled into the fluffy thing and bit the dirt.

"...Ow. All right, you want a piece of me? Huh? I got mad hops!" Drake jumped up to his feet, unaffected by the tumble, and began hopping around the little fluffy thing (ooh, it's a mouse!) in an iconic ferret war dance. It looked more like he was breaking his back every time he jumped. But the fierce fighting spirit of the fearless ferret could not be- human smell!

Flipping over backwards and writhing around on the ground some, he eventually flipped himself over and took off hop-running in a different direction after the new smell. "Runningrunningsearchingseekingfindingjumpingfaceplantinggettinguprunningrunningrunning!" Drake chanted as he ran deeper into the trees.

((Gotta go again soon in a couple minutes, and I don't know when I'll be back... >.< Have fun everyone though!))

Salem

He dashed after the loud, stretched out creature, trying to keep enough distance so it wouldn't notice. He had heard it upon entering the woods, and ditched the dog to get a decent meal. However Salem wasn't all that good at hunting, so he was a bit clumsy here and there. The feline widened his eyes at the white mouse it crashed into, this was...new. As it changed it's direction Salem was forced to choose which one to stay with. He picked the rodent and crouched down, swishing his tail and getting ready to pounce.

Django

Django was left to follow the smell of animals even though the cat had told him to stay put. Salem would find him, the cat was good at finding his way around. His ears perked up as he saw a group of cats, and another dog.

Sluki

Slunk halted when the long mouse ran into a regular mouse. After hopping around it began running again. And Sluki was right behind it.

Algernon tilted his little mouse head to the side as he watched the creature hop away. Well, that certainly was weird. But the rodent didn't have much time to think about this short-lived encounter when his eyes landed on a feline, couched down to the ground, looking ready to pounce on him. Algernon let out a small yelp before composing himself enough to speak. "Wait!" he yelled, hating the desperation in his little squeaky voice. "I . . . I— Please don't hurt me!"

Shadow

Shadow sniffed the air, 'Another dog?' He thought. He turned around, and stepped forward, "Who are you?! Come out!" He said. He raised his voice, to sound thetening. He didn't want to be attacked.

Lily

Lily got to where she thought the smell was coming from, 'No mouse.' She thought. She climbed back down, and walked over to the other cat. "I'm sorry, I uh, got destracted." She said.

Ashes~

i followed the smells until i saw a group of animals one of which kinda looked like me be had a curled tail and was black an brown not silver. i ran up to them bouncing around excitedly sniffing here and there "oooh what are you?!" i said then noticed the thing that was in the tree but was now next to the black-almost me ".... what are they?!"

Salem

Salem's eyes were locked onto the mouse, he took a small moment to decide whether to go ahead and pounce or to listen. He stood and trotted closer. "You're not from around here are you? I've never seen a white mouse here, and I come to this place a lot." He began, he didn't consider this much of a loss, heck the thing didn't look normal so it probably wasn't wise to put it in his mouth.

Django

He winced that the dog's harsh tone, and padded closer to the others. "I'm not asking for a fight, I'm just a little...lost."

His voice shaky with fear, Algernon managed to reply to the feline: "No, I'm not. I'm from a lab where strange scientists performed strange experiments on me. I—I don't know what they did to me, so it might not be safe for you to eat me." It was true that he could be unsafe for consumption, though the cat's health wasn't the primary worry on his mind at the moment.

Shadow

Shadow jumped as a fox ran up, and asked him what he was. "I-I'm a shiba inu, or at least that's what I was told." He said. Then, he turned back to the dog he smelt before.

Lily

Lily wasn't really startled when a fox ran up, things were already weird. "I'm a munchkin. I know it sounds weird. . ." She said.

Muffin

Muffin looked at the ground, and saw a. . .she didn't even know what it was. She hurried down the tree, and ran over to the animal that looked kind of similar to Shadow. "Hi!" She said when she got to it. "What are you!? What's your name!? Why are you here!?" She asked quickly, and exciedlly. She ran around, and under the creature, and purred.
Nemesis

Nemesis ran into the woods, and saw a male cat sitting next to a mouse. She walked a little closer, 'Well, that's odd. Why isn't he eating the rodent?' She wondered.

Ashes~

i was a little surprised but in a good way when a smaller fluffier version of the thing that said she was a 'munchkin' ran up to me and started running around my legs. i stuck my head between my front feet and looked under me at the fluffy munchkin "fox, Ashes, because you all smelled weird" i answered all at once

Muffin

Muffin ran up closer to his face, and sniffed his nose. Then, she ran out from under him, and around to the front of Ashes. "I'm Muffin, I'm a munchkin, and you also smell weird." She giggled.

Lily

Lily walked over to Ashes, "You're a fox? I've never seen a fox before." She said. Then, she turned around, and walked over to the dog that Shadow was questioning. "I'm sorry about that." She said. "He's a little nervous."

Salem

"Oh lucky me, my food worries about my well being. No duh, I'm not going to eat you, you don't even belong in a forest." He replied, sitting down beside him. He had to admit he felt some respect for the rodent, to be tested on by humans...it sounded terrible. "So mutant mouse, how'd you even get out?

Django

He watched the curious animal with a tilted head, he snapped out of thought and looked down at the feline. "It's alright, and you smell like humans. Do you have owners?" Perhaps they'd let him join in and he'd have a home as well. It would be better than life now, he was skin and bones. It was clear to see he didn't fit in as a stray.

Lily

Lily's eyes grew wide, and she gasped, stepping back. She looked down, "No." She answered. "We don't, we're on our own now."
Muffin

Muffin nodded excited, and walked closer to Ashes. She lied down next to him, "What do you like to do? I like to chase things." She said, looking up.
Nemesis

Nemesis walked over, standing high, to pose an imposing figure. "What's going on here?!" She asked. She wasn't going to just stand by while, these freaks of nature talked. The cat should have eaten the appatizer by now.

Algernon felt a huge wave of relief wash over him. He wasn't going to get eaten. Thank goodness. But now he had to tell his life story, which didn't sound all too fun. "Oh, well, I was . . . Well, I was, um, thrown out," he said uncomfortably. He didn't want to sound like he was asking for sympathy, but he couldn't help the bitterness in his voice as he continued to explain his situation: "Like trash. Like I'm not a breathing, living creature. Humans disgust me, I gotta say." He let out a sigh. "Anyway, I was sent to some dump, but I managed to escape. I guess the scientists were expecting me to suffocate in the garbage bag or maybe they just didn't care, but I made a hole in the bag so I could breathe, and then I escaped." Algernon realized that he was speaking very fast and telling the story somewhat out of order, even repeating some parts. He wondered if his cluttering and struggle to organize his thoughts had something to do with any of the experiments done on him.

Django

The dog's ears lowered in disappointment. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." He replied softly, his gaze switched to the kitten and the animal. "Is she your's?" He asked, gaze returning to the cat.

Salem

He frowned and his respect turned to pity for the mouse. He opened his mouth, ready to give a small bit of encouragement to bring some cheer into the conversation, but was cut off by the third voice. He glanced towards her and curled his lip slightly in annoyance from being interrupted.

Algernon let out a squeak of fear when he heard another cat approach and ask what was going on. He instinctively hid behind the nicer cat in fear of the meaner one. He wasn't used to being so scared, but then again he'd never been in such close proximity to other creatures. He was used to having at least a cage wall between other creatures and himself. He recalled a time when he would tease the larger animals in the lab by standing near the cage walls to make the idiot creatures think they could catch him. But now Algernon wondered how that old version of himself could be so fearless.

Nemesis

Nemesis lost her threatening stance, and walked closer. "I said, what's going on here." She said, impatiently. She sat down, and looked at the pitiful rodent.

Lily

Lily turned to look at Muffin, "Yes, Muffin's my kit." She said. "Why?" She was wondering why the dog wanted to know.

Shadow

Shadow lied down, he wasn't really in the convorsation anymore, but he stuck around anyway.

Algernon tried his best to say quiet, but the plead just slipped out: "Please don't eat me!" He had come so far, surviving experiment after experiment, escaping the dump, hiding in the jungle, befriending that one cat--and it was all for nothing, for this one threatening feline seemed completely un-befriend-able.

Nemesis

Nemesis smiled, "Oh, I won't eat you-" she started. "Emediently, after all, I'll probably play with you a little first." She finished. She laughed, "Only, if he doesn't eat you. If he does, you're his. If not, you're mine. It's fair." She said.

Algernon didn't know how to reply to that, so he just continued to cower behind the nicer feline, hoping that something might drive the meaner one away.

Nemesis

Nemesis just sat there, watching the mouse with hungry eyes. She had a huge grin on her face, and she licked her lips. Her tail swayed back, and forth, and she crouched into a pouncing position.
