A Vacation to Remember

ZooYork was a bustling city to behold. All types of animals, all of different species for as far as the eye could see. It was there vacation, after spending so much time on the force.

Judy however already missed work. The sounds of gossip around the ZPD, the blazing siren of her squad car. Even busting a law-breaker from time to time. But most of all, she missed her uniform. The way it hugged her in a proud embrace, that gleaming badge and all that navy blue.

Nevertheless, there was one thing, one person really; who made up for this all. And it was Nick. That rustic colored animal that made her world revolve. It was as he was a bright orange sun, and she was a tiny moon just orbiting. But nothing could compare to a romantic get away. Far from Bogo, far from responsibility, far from...

Other animals.

Perhaps not;

"Move outta da way i'm walkin here!" a jaguar nearly bumped the small bunny over, tons and tons of more animals almost shoulder to shoulder.

"Yeah you too buddy!" she scowled for only a moment, looking at Nick.

"Isn't this great!" exclaimed. As if she could care about one rude animal, it was time to relax, hang back, and have a spectacular time .

And who else to spend that time with than none other than Zootopia's most sly guy, Nick Wilde.

Nick really had to clamp his mouth shut when that jaguar walked by, nearly knocking Judy over in the process. Every single cell in Nick's body was telling him to say something to the jaguar. Something offensive that would probably cause an argument. Nick never had been very good at holding his tongue. But, just this once, he let it go. He simply took a deep breath and let it out again a few seconds later. He did not want to cause a scene here, in front of Judy, especially when they were about to go on a relaxing vacation.

Speaking of that vacation, this was not the destination. Soon enough they would be on a cruise ship set for some islands out in the tropics. They would be gone, alone, for weeks... And it would be amazing. Finding time alone was always rather difficult with work in the way. Nick found himself actually craving any moment alone they could get. He had more than a little crush on the small bunny beside him, although he didn't dare admit such a thing to her; he doubted she would reply kindly to such a thing. There was no way she could ever like him. But every moment alone simply helped cement their friendship on a more personal level. Working together was one thing, but spending real time together one on one was quite another.

This city was absolutely bustling with activity. Perhaps walking beside Judy was not the best of ideas. Nick works his way over behind Judy, and places a paw on her shoulder so that they wouldn't get separated. At least that way, if an animal did accidentally knock Judy over, Nick could catch her and keep her upright. "I wouldn't exactly say this city is great... A bit dirtier than Zootopia... But the destination will be great!" Nick says with a laugh, though it was drowned out by the noises of the city. "So we are staying at a hotel tonight and then heading onto the cruise tomorrow, right Carrots?"

Lavender eyes looked up at Nick with a pink lipped smile, she bumped his hip with hers, "Oh yeah! You know it! You know..." she looked up at him with wide eyes. "I heard are Suite is pretty...sweet. Get it? Because...the words sound the same...haha..." Judy awkwardly laughed. An attempt at humor.

Nick grew on her, especially now as partners. It even sounded like something nick WOULD say. However Judy wasn't Nick, couldn't crack a solid joke like so. Mostly because she was a dork. "Jude the Dude" her parents always called her. And something about that name just feed into her dorky nature, something she wondered if Nick liked.

There was a very dim spark of worry glowing within her. Slowly becoming brighter as it faded with light. The worry of being alone with him. No work, no friends. Just them. Solving a case was on thing, so was being on duty. But there was something uncomfortable, yet very comfortable wavering a war within her mind. It was odd enough a fox and rabbit were hanging out. Not un-heard of, but definitely not the norm.

"I wonder how much Nick really likes me? He's so smooth and easy to read but..sometimes those pages are skewed and hard to follow.." her thoughts crashed as waves to a shore-line. Judy kept up her smile though, just looking up, waiting for a reply on her terrible joke.

Although that wasn't the absolute worst joke that Nick had ever heard, it was certainly up there in the ranks. And that alone was enough to make it hilarious to him. The incredibly forced delivery followed by the awkward laugh was enough to make Nick let out a happy laugh and a very real smile. "That was an absolutely awful joke, and I love it. You're so adorable when you try to be funny, Carrots." Nick says with a light squeeze to the shoulder that his paw had a hold on. "Now seriously stop looking up at me and watch where you're going. Why are you even staring at me anyway? Want a kiss or something?" The vulpine says with a playful smirk on his lips as he moved the oblivious bunny out of the way of a rushing bull. He was just kidding about the kiss... Mostly.

It does not take very long for the pair to make their way to the hotel that they were staying at. They had spared no expense for this trip, and Nick had even broken into his lifetime savings of over 1 million dollars to provide the best of the best for them. This hotel, though they were only staying there for one night, was the best one in ZooYork. They had reserved a room on one of the top floors, overlooking the central city where all the lights were constantly on and clubbing was the main attraction. Luckily from the height their room was situated at, they'd never heard any of the commotion down below.

"Sup, sweetheart?" Nick says to the woman at the check-in counter. She was an exquisitely beautiful snow leopard, with bright blue eyes and a permanent smile on her face. "My friend and I are here for the night. The room will be under Wilde, Nick Wilde. Keep an eye on my phone number that it has listed and call me after you get off." He really, really, had no shame. Not even an ounce.

Although the snow leopard does blush and let out a real smile, she even eyes him a bit, in the end he's just a customer. She politely declines and hands them the card to their room. "Oh well..." Nick says with a chuckle and a shrug while the pair walk to the elevator leading up to their room. "Can't win 'em all, can you Judy?"

"Want a..NO!" Judy snapped her head away from his gaze. "A kiss joke? Not beyond him. Oh my gosh is he flirting with me? Or joking. I can NEVER tell!" the tiny marsupial screamed in her mind. Well, Nick was right. For some reason or another she had been called, adorable, petite, and even cute way too many times to count. It was almost vexing, but charming coming from Nick. There was always a glint in his eye, a shimmer in his teeth.

Something about that fox allowed him to jest 24/7 and get away with it. Little be known to Nick, Judy adored that quality.

Judy couldn't help feeling bad about something, Nick's wallet.
"Nick? Are you surrreee? You need to dig into your bank account this eagerly? I get it, foxes like to dig but come on am I right?" she elbowed his hip; speaking in a sarcastic tone. "Than again.." she gave him a bright smug look.

"You do owe some hefty city taxes, dumb fox.." she let off her smirk and punched his arm.

As soon as Nick started to flirt with the leopard her heart sank a little, burned even. Like a match trying to light until that final strike set it a blaze.

"I'm flattered Mr. Wilde. But I have to maintain...my professional nature. You understand, but if I was a fox you would have to watch out. Rawr.." she giggled and laughed as Judy laughed as well.

"Agh hahaha yeah.." she cut off the conversation and yanked him towards their room.

As soon as Nick let out another line of, "Nick Dialogue" the bunny budded in,
"You knooow what else you can't win? All snow leopards. Yep, yeeeah. Gotta stay away from them all. I mean, dating wise you know. I have nothing against them it's just. They have to groom all the time, their always ripping apart your sofa. Yeeeah no, your better off with someone else. I'm sure you'll find that special animal" she started to hop, unaware of her childish antics as she drug the fox along.

"Phew!..that was close...wait. Why do I care?" Judy came to a stop in thought with a blank lipped expression.

Although Judy comes to a stop, Nick does not. He seemed.. Annoyed. And he was. He was annoyed with Judy. Every time that he believed she was getting better and less racist, she went and did something stupid. First with what she said at the press conference about predators being 'naturally savage' and having different 'biology'... And now this. Although Judy's comment wasn't directly aimed at Nick, he couldn't help but feel anger towards Judy over it. It wasn't that he cared if she was insulting the lady down at the desk, it wasn't even that she aimed it at all snow leopards. It was the fact that she was so honest and obviously not thinking about the things she said.

And he just couldn't let that one pass. But he also wasn't going to make a scene in the middle of the hallway, because that would be rude of him. So the vulpine simply fell in line beside Judy and kept his voice quiet. "Look, Judy... I'm going to say this once, and I want you to listen and understand. Some of the things you say are racist and offensive. I know you don't mean to, I know that it's simply a part of how you were raised and your outlook on life, but it's wrong. I had thought you got over this after the press conference fiasco, but apparently I was wrong. It is not okay to say that 'all snow leopards' are something. That's over generalizing an entire race of creatures. How would you feel if an animal came up to us and said that we shouldn't be friends, because all foxes are evil? Is that something you would say?"

Nick knew the answer to that, of course. He knew that she would never say anything like that. He couldn't blame her for the occasional slip of the tongue, she was still far better than most prey animals he knew, but he also couldn't just stand by and say nothing. She would never get better if he didn't intervene and let her know where she went wrong. But that was that, so he pushed it from his mind. No anger or annoyance left over, just a hope that she would watch her tongue more carefully next time.

The two of them soon make their way to the door, which Nick pops the card into for a moment before withdrawing it and putting it back in his pocket. The light on the door turns from red to green, and clicks open. Nick pushes open the door and is immediately blown away. The door opened out into a hallway which led to the primary area of the hotel. One bed with purple silken sheets sat along the right wall, with a large flat-screen TV sitting opposite it along the left. Each side of the bed had an intricately carved wooden table beside it. A beer fridge in the far left corner of the room. At the far end of the room was a sliding glass door which led out onto a balcony overlooking the city center.

Nick immediately unbuttoned his shirt, threw off his tie, grabbed a beer and made his way out onto the balcony to relax. There was 2 cushioned lounge chairs out there.

Without saying a word Judy had walked past him, keeping her fluffy head rather down than up. The rabbit didn't want to engage in an argument, more or less fight with Nick. This was their vacation after all.

I was just protecting you... Judy had thought, looking back at him with dim purple gaze. It wasn't Judy's fault, it was instinct. Yet maybe it was her fault just a little. But was it bad? Was it a little tiny sin to want others not to have him? She shook her head, of course it was. It wouldn't stop her though, but the wrenching nervous feeling in her gut told her otherwise. Leaving her a little too anxious but too afraid to get that close to him. It would be silly for a bunny to be with a fox anyway.

She dismissed those thoughts, blushing when Nick whipped off his shirt like no one was around. She watched him grab a beer, tempting. But she didn't drink at all. Judy ignored the beer fridge and plopped down on the opposite seat of Nick.

"Well, aren't you comfortable" she teased, knowing it was the perfect reaction from finally being able to relax. But she couldn't deny she felt the same. Just letting her body fall limp on a chair that was much bigger than her, as she gazed over the many other buildings; river in the middle.

"Ya know, who would have thought a rabbit and a fox could save Zootopia?" she foreshadowed. "It's funny to think there's always more to the animal you met, and even more to the animal you know. You just have to do a little digging" she went into her thoughts.

Seeing Judy walk past him with her head down low was enough to make Nick's heart skip a beat out of sadness. He hadn't meant to hurt her, but at the same time it was sort of unavoidable given the topic they were discussing. The way she looked back at him with that dim purple gaze was even worse. He wanted to just reach out, hug her, tell her he was sorry... But he wasn't. Giving in to her now would just cement it in her mind that those kinds of words are okay. He needed to keep a stern gaze on her and let her know that it wouldn't be accepted in his presence to say things like that.

Nick looks over at Judy from his perch on the lounger and simply raises his beer bottle in cheer, though Judy had absolutely nothing to clank against his. So he simply clanked his beer bottle gently against her forehead, winked, and spoke up in a cheerful voice, "It really is amazing, isn't it Carrots? I learn more and more about you every day." The vulpine says with a smile on his lips, a smile which quite easily reached his eyes. Those charming green eyes of his lingered on Judy for just a moment longer than perhaps they should have, before looking out over the buildings and eyeing the river.

Nick stays silent for a few minutes, content to simply sip at his drink. He still had not pieced together why exactly Judy had ranted over the snow leopard. Not for a second did he believe that it was over jealousy and her wanting to keep him to herself. He didn't believe that she could ever see him in that way. Although, without a doubt, he saw her in that way.
"But you can never tell her, because she will laugh at you. What bunny would love a fox? Actually what animal would ever love a fox?" His mind echoes to itself. Deep down inside he honestly didn't believe that she, or really any other animal, could want him in such a way. Even the snow leopard at the counter had specified that 'if she was a fox' he would have to look out.

All of this internal struggle comes out as a loud accidental sigh from Nick.

Which he covers up with conversation.
"It really is amazing to see how much Zootopia has changed since we became partners. I see foxes on the street now being treated with at least some level of respect, all thanks to you Officer Bounce. So thank you, truly. You did more than just get me a legitimate job."

Judy couldn't held but to be slightly entranced by Nick's swampy eyes, finding herself scanning the details that etched themselves in between. Quickly she looked away before he could notice. Hoping Nick wouldn't take such a response the wrong way. She simply folded her paws before being knocked on the skull by a cold can of beer.

"H-hey. No fair" she punched him. So hard it spilled his beer all over his pants. She never meant to hit him that hard, all her training in the ZPD had given her no restrain from the force behind her punches. "Ha ha well, gives you an excuse to buy another pair of pants" she retained her joking mannerisms. Being kind of like Nick amused her to no end. Instead of apologizing jokes were always in order.

"Always thanking me Nick. That's your problem, never letting me offer you some of the glory" remembering how she had failed to mention Nick during the case they solved together. "So excuse you Officer Orange, I think so thank you's are in order from my side. But it's good to see foxes out on the streets during the day, totally the norm now. Get this!" Judy shot up from her chair. "I totally saw this group of bunnies and foxes hanging out, it was unbelievable. I think two of them were dating, funny idea huh?" she gained a half smile upon her face, shaking her head in a whimsical manner.

Nick raises an amused eyebrow at the easily excitable bunny cop he had for a partner. The way she shot up from her chair just to tell him a little story was absolutely hilarious and adorable, though the story makes him lose that smile. A fox and a bunny dating? A funny idea? That was more than just a funny idea, that was practically unheard of. Perhaps they had been doing so in secret for a while and had just come out? Had Judy and himself really changed things so much that it was now acceptable for a fox and bunny to be holding hands on the street?

Nick just shakes his head.
"Well, Judy, I truly hope that foxes significant other doesn't punch them so hard that they spill beer on themselves." He says with a fake angry glare, before losing it to a wide smile. He gets up and disappears into the room for a moment, changing out of is pants and into a pair of pajama shorts. They were loose fitting and far more comfortable than what he had been wearing before. He comes back outside and sits down again, "Spill any more beer on me and I swear that I will throw you over the edge of this balcony." He says with a chuckle.

The idea of a bunny and fox dating was getting to him. What started as a simple statement from Judy was now something that he was actively thinking about. A few minutes pass before the fox speaks up again,
"... So about this bunny and fox dating? What do you think about it? I mean, surely many animals on the street would react negatively to that. So what is your take on it? Do you think it's weird, or do you think animals should be free to do whatever makes them happy and kindly tell society to fuck off in the process?"

Judy sighed, lifting a brow as she rolled her eyes, "Yeah sure, good idea Sherlock. Last time I checked rabbits don't fly. But birds do" she leaned over in her seat giving him a sassy ass look before leaning back again. She kept her sight over the city, being so high have her a sense of authority. Despite being a high ranking officer of the ZPD.

"Hey, muzzle Mr." she pointed at his face, giving him a warning through her expression. She didn't mind cussing, it was just so very rare to hear it. Her entire family never did, maybe her dad. But that was about it. Living out there in the meadow and farmlands the families were much closer. Every body knew anybody around there. Seeing how Nick use to be a street fox, her best friend Being Finnick she couldn't even imagine how bad Finnick's mouth was. Nick probably the PG version in comparison. .

Judy looked away at first, not knowing what to think. Why was Nick asking about this? They had been friends for a while now, maybe he was just curious.
"Weeellll..." the female rabbit thumbed with her paws, still not giving Nick the privilege to see her eyes.

"Mabye not weird in the prey district, but. In a predator town? Yeah, I guess. But my mom always told me love is love." her grin widened. "As...long it wasn't with a fox; that is. But that's just my parents" she leaned back to laugh a bit, trying to make the mood a little more comfortable for Nick on such a touchy subject. "I mean, I guess they couldn't have children. And who know's what else. But ever since the Night-Howler case I guess I have seen more odd couples. Funny world now isn't it..?" she hopped off the chair.

"Come on dumb fox, big day tomorrow."

"Yeah... My mother always told me that it doesn't matter what race they are, as long as you truly love them. She would always say, 'As long as you would die for them, the outside doesn't really matter, does it?'. But that's neither here nor there. Lets go to bed Judith." Nick says while slowly climbing off of his own chair to follow Judy back into the hotel room. She was right after all; tomorrow was a huge day! They had to find their cruise ship, board it, get all of their luggage set up, and by the time that happened it would probably be close to bed time again. And the next day they would be setting anchor in a small Caribbean town for the day!

The fox quickly brushed his teeth, combed the loose fur on his body so that they wouldn't knot overnight, and then went to climb into bed. The only problem being that there was only
one bed in the room. And although it was rather large, it still meant that the pair had to sleep together. There was no avoiding it, unless one of them wanted to sleep outside on the lounge chair. Which Nick certainly didn't. And by the looks of how quickly Nick got comfortable in bed, it seemed like he didn't really care at all if they slept together.

Then again he lived on the street for most of his life. A bed of any kind was like heaven.

He kept thinking back on what Judy had said. 'Love is love'. That piece of advice sounded very much like what his mother used to tell him. Perhaps, somehow, he wasn't absolutely crazy to think that the two of them might be a thing. One day. But certainly not today, or tonight...

"Judith? You actually called me that? Even my mother barely calls me that." she placed a small pink paw on her hip, shaking her head with a dumb smirk. It wasn't unheard of, but it wasn't often she'd been called that. "What are we married?" she whapped his side a couple of times as she made her way to the bathroom. There was a click behind the door, clearly she needed her privacy. The sound of in door rain buzzed around the hotel room, a sigh of content as the warm water matted her fur down, making it stick to her tiny body. Soon after she brushed her teeth as well, giving extra attention to her big old, yet adorable buck teeth in the front all bunnies had. Her's profound, emphasizing her smile, one of them slightly off centered.

The door opened ajar. Judy was wearing her own pajama attire, fully equipped with little carrots deigned all over.

"Try not to have your jaw drop to your knees, okay fox?" she walked on over and wiggled her little tail. Before leaping into the bed she was hesitant at first, biting her lip. "Well, I am comfortable with him. I guess it's okay. Live a little Judy come on.." she urged herself on, dive bombing into the bed. Before Nick could get a word she smacked him in the face with a small pillow. "It's called a hus- no that line wont work. Hooow about....feeling a little under the feat- no...point is you got hit by a pillow okay? I'm trying here" she slapped him again, laughing innocently.

Quite the opposite happens to Nick's face when he sees Judy. His jaw does not hit the floor. Instead he begins quietly chuckling, which grows louder and louder by the second. Soon enough he had a paw over his mouth to contain his laughter, but it just didn't work. "YOUR PAJAMAS HAVE CARROTS ON THEM!" The fox bursts out laughing.

He is silenced almost immediately by a pillow to the face. He pauses for just a moment before narrowing his eyes and snarling slightly. Intimidation factor check. He then immediately grabbed a nearby pillow and hit Judy in the face just about as hard as he could. Not full force, since he didn't want to knock the poor bunny off the bed, but definitely not lightly either. He just had to be really careful about how hard he hit her, because no matter how tough she was, he was twice her height and probably three times her weight. He definitely had to watch it.

"I think that middle one was good, Carrots. 'Feeling a little under the feather' is totally an awesome line. I can't think of a better one!" The fox says with a laugh before taking another swing at Judy. She was much to fast this time, although she only had a bed to maneuver on. His next place of attack was fairly simple; fake a swing with the pillow, lunge at her, pin her down and sit on her. Good luck getting up from that one, Judy.

Assuming he could pull it off.

Judy shook her head, recovering from the swift smack to the face she had received. "Yes, they have carrots on them? Got a problem, FOX?" she chuckled. "Oh, so it's war is it? All have you know i'm a high ranking off-" as she was cut off by another smack to the face. Snorting she huffed, "That's how it's going to be huh? You picked a fight with the wrong rabbit girl" she dodged his next swing. Swift she was; her lightly body made it amble to jump around and breeze past his swings.

Taking another pillow, now having one in both paws she sandwiched his face between them with a quick whack. Using her strong natural rabbit legs she bounced and hopped out of the way, whapping him at any chance she had.
"See what I mean!" she huffed. Although she was doing a great job at pummeling Nick with pillows, it was easy for her to run out of breath. Bunnies were good for a lot of things, one of them was exerting a ton of energy into one task. Then burning out soon after, and burn out she did.

"Give....up....big...guy...?" she panted, ears flopping downward from her muscles being overused so quickly. "I...need...a minute...to catch...me breath.." she leaned over the bed, little chest puffing in and out.

Nick had taken quite the beating. Well, with a pillow at least. Which meant that, really, he was hardly phased at all. As strong as Judy was for a bunny, she was still just a tiny bunny. A pillow swing by her wasn't about to actually do anything to Nick at all. Although he had to admit that she had a strong arm on her, for a bunny. After a few more seconds of swinging he noticed that she began to slow down. She was getting tired! And he was conserving his energy.

But, to be fair, if she had a baton he'd be dead by now. Then again if she had a baton he had claws.

Finally the bunny collapses out of exhaustion. Nick sees his opportunity and pounces on top of the bunny, holding her tight against himself in a hold that she couldn't hope to break in her tired state. He squeezes her around the stomach, holds her close to himself in the roughest snuggle ever, and rolls over onto his back. "Grabbed by a vicious fox! YOU'RE DEAD BUNNY-BUTT!" He says in a voice that is as close to matching their polar-bear coach as possible. He had dealt with the same polar bear lady when he went through his police training academy experience.

"Uggh! Nick! You just had to bring her up." she leaned back in his grip and couldn't help but to laugh. At first it wasn't the most encouraging thing to hear back in her training days, but something about that big polar bear filled her with determination. "Fine. Fine. You got me. i'm dead" she exaggerated. "Blood! Blood everywhere!" as she went limp and let her tongue hang out of her muzzle, eyes closed. But why not fake it until you make it? Over acting was defiantly something she enjoyed. For the longest time she just played dead, not really moving until she filled the atmosphere in the room with enough sappy acting.

"Now let go, I can't breath" she patted his arms huffing before rolling over on the other side of the bed; arms behind her head. It wasn't long before her eyes felt as granite, weighing her down. Judy couldn't help but to blink a few times and look over at Nick. It felt weird being in the same bed, but why did gender or sex matter? Even species. Friends can sleep in the same bed as each other, there was nothing wrong with that. The only time she had ever shared a bed was with her massive family, or her bunny girlfriends at home. Sleep over were common out there, nothing to do. No where to go. Farm land as far as the eye can see. It was do or die out there. In other words don't DIE of being DEAD bored. Nick had changed that for her. Sure Judy had to see him five days out of the week, but he had been so generous to take her out for coffee or go see a game. "Go Tigers!" literally was on of the teams.

"Hey Nick..." she smirked. "Your a dumb Fo..." as she couldn't finish her final words. Exhaustion had swept over her body, hitting her as hard as a hammer and she was the nail. Nailed right into the pillow that is, drifting off. Although she was a very heavy sleeper, it caused her to speak in her sleep.

"I won that pillow fight...mmmm...admit it.." she tossed in her sleep.

Nick can't help but chuckle gently as the tiredness hits Judy like a truck. Although he knew that Judy was completely unconscious by this point, he still felt like he had to make her comfortable. The fox grabbed the blankets and gently pulled them up until they were resting on her shoulders. He also adjusted her pillow slightly so that it was a bit less messed up from the fighting they had earlier. He pauses for a moment as she mumbles in her sleep and, very quietly, responds with, "I'll give that one to you, Carrots. Dream of wonderful things..."

He then leans in and kisses her on the forehead softly before rolling onto his back and staring at the ceiling. He didn't honestly know why he kissed her. He just... Did. Was it inappropriate to kiss her while she was unconscious? Yeah probably. But he knew deep down inside that she wouldn't at all mind.

Simply being in the same bed as her gave Nick a feeling that he had never experienced before. He felt... Content... But in a totally different way than normal. It was a strange feeling to know that at a moments notice he could reach over and shake his best friend awake to talk about whatever was troubling him. Never before had he been able to talk with any animal about his inner feelings, not even Finnick. And now here he was sleeping beside the one bunny who truly knew him and whom he could be open with. And he knew that if he did need anything, he could wake her, and she would understand.

He could lean on her. And she could lean on him.

The vulpine drifts off into a peaceful sleep.

Judy had stirred in her sleep from the light peck from Nick's thin black lips on her forehead, yet still fast asleep without a care in the world. She tossed and turned, ripping the sheets from Nick as she dreamt away. Usually Judy was a heavy sleeper, a rock on a pillow. But tonight, she was dreaming of something else.

"Night-Howlers! Ennn..no." the bunny's faces squinted and cringed as she hugged her pillow hard. She dreamt of Nick, in the worst way possible. Imagined if he really was affected by them. And they failed to have tricked Bell Wheater the first time around. Before Nick could lunge at her throat she gasped, waking up with her little bunny heart pounding away. Looking over at the sleeping fox she sighed, smashing her head back into her pillow as the low glow of moon light lit up the room.

Nick, on the other paw, had always been a rather light sleeper. He had come to expect trouble when he was growing up on the street, so having the sheets ripped off of himself was enough to have the fox half awake and muttering something decidedly rude. But he quickly fell back asleep without so much as another word.

He didn't stay asleep for very long. He somewhat distantly heard the bunny muttering about night-howlers, though he was still pretty much asleep enough not to really pay any attention to it. It wasn't even the gasp that got him to wake up; it was the pounding of her heart. Her heart was going fast enough that his incredibly fox hearing could pick it up. Even in his mostly-asleep mental state, he could understand that her heart beat was not normal. It seemed like she was getting attacked.

The vulpine was upright half a second later and his claws were out. He looked wildly around the room before his eyes settled on Judy. His claws sheathed themselves after he determined that, no, she wasn't in danger. "... Why are you awake? Your heart is going absolutely wild." He said with a frown, while moving himself closer to her.

His claws had left noticeable holes in the blanket. But it'd survive.

Judy placed a paw on her chest, huffing very faintly now as she took a look at Nick's pale face in the moon lit glow. "I...it was just a dream. Nothing more. Bunny dreams, you know how those are..." the grey lump of fur rolled to her side, away from Nick as she hugged a pillow. Her head was pounding, as most of her nightmares would leave her after. She couldn't help but to think about them. Sure the cure had already been manufactured, and no new cases arose. But something in her little head screamed at her. What if someone were to be attacked by them again? The cure can't just stop a rampaging animal already afflicted? The city may have collected most of them; but what of illegal selling?

The rabbit could only hug her pillow and stare at the floor. Sure they stopped a tremendous crime, but with stopping evil breeds new evil. And now she had Nick, what if something would happen to him? They were so small. One large predator getting the right attack in could render one of them dead, or crippled for life.

She could only simply gaze at Nick's face one more time, before frowning once more. A vacation to remember had been turning into memories that were hard to forget.

Judy was one of the worst liars that Nick had ever met. Even when she looked him dead in the eye and said that it was just a dream and no big deal, he could tell that it certainly was a big deal. The last time he had seen her so upset was under the bridge, when she had come to apologize to him for her actions at the ZPD press conference. She had put her head against his chest and just cried into his fur. And, although this was an entirely different type of reaction, he knew that she was absolutely just as upset now as she had been then. But what exactly was troubling her? That was the question. Here they were, on vacation, and a dream had enough power to spoil her mood?

His next course of action was quite risky. He didn't know how she would respond, but he felt like it would be welcomed. The fox reached out without hesitation and wrapped an arm around the bunnies belly, before tugging Judy towards himself. Once they were fur-to-fur, he eased his grip on her belly. He kept the arm draped around her, though.

"So...." The fox says quietly. His breath brushed against her large ear, although her kept his snout back at a respectable distance. Holding her close was one thing, but he wasn't about to start whispering into her ear. Unless she, y'know, reacted nicely to this. Truth be told, none of this was because of any sort of fantasy that Nick may have about Judy; he honestly and truly was just worried about her. He wasn't holding her because he wanted something more than friendship from her, although internally he did; he was holding her because he thought it might help. "How about we try this again, and without you blatantly avoiding the truthful answer. You're awake because of a dream, but you're also a tough bunny. I don't see a dream keeping you awake for this long. Are you sure it wasn't a nightmare? What happened? What's on your mind?"

"Night-howlers" the rabbit turned away, hanging her feet of the bed stand. She put her paws over her face and sighed, the night had been going so well to. Once that heavy sleeper of a bunny woke up in the middle of the night, she was up until morning. "Just a lot on my mind. That's all" the rabbit announced in a mundane voice. "Welp" she slapped the bed with one paw. "I'm up. Great. Can't sleep." she hopped off the bed, walking over to the dresser and opening the door wide enough as to where Nick couldn't see her.

A couple pieces of clothes flew on the floor as she dressed, walking out again wearing some band shirt and pants with faded spots all over.
"Come on Mr. Nocturnal, were hitting the town." she smiled with her small pink lips. It maybe wasn't a good idea, considering they needed all the sleep they could get before tomorrow.

Nick looked annoyed, but not as annoyed as one would normally be when getting told to wake up at 3 AM. He was, after all, as she had said; nocturnal. He adjusted to this quite quickly and his eyes soon took on the unsettling green glow that foxes were notorious for. The scene of a pair of glowing green eyes in the darkness was enough to make just about anyone slightly creep'd out. The fox rubbed at his eyes for just a moment, before hopping out of the bed wearing nothing but his boxers. If Judy had a problem with it... Well honestly he didn't really care. He was getting up and going out for no other reason than because she wanted too.

A few moments later and Nick had clothes on, and a few moments later after that he had combed his fur back to normal; goodbye bed-fur. "You know, Carrots..." He says while checking himself once over in the mirror. He had a short-sleeved blue shirt on, and a pair of black shorts. "We are on a resort. So if by 'hitting the town' you mean 'wandering around the beach and relaxing', then yes, we are definitely hitting the town. I am not about to go clubbing at 3 AM."

Judy had gazed at Nick's eerie eyes. It wasn't the first time those peepers had illuminated in the dark. Scary to most prey, but the rabbit had found it really cool. Or so she would put it. "Kind wish my eyes could glow like that." the rabbit tilted her head with a smirk, letting her ears flop over to one side as she did so. The second Nick had mentioned the beach the rabbit clicked her tongue. She didn't really like the idea of going to the beach, as romantic as that had sounded. It would be too dark. All that sand in her fur and clothes. She'd have to shower a second time in one night.

"Gee, what a downer" the bunny joked, brushing some eye liner over her purple saucer like eyes and some more make-up in her lashes. She didn't really need it being as attractive as she was as a bunny. It was almost by accident really, realizing she was really putting it on for Nick. Blushing at the thought she closed her pocket mirror and stuffed it away.

"We are....going for a walk. Yes, a walk." she insisted. "See where it goes from there. And no, not the beach. I'm not a beach bunny." the marsupial went on. "It's Zoo-York Nick. There has to be something twenty four hour that's fun around here. Than again...I grew up in the country so...I guess i'm not that fun what so ever." she lowered her ears slightly.
