After collecting some of the remaining students, the bus suddenly began to rocket upward into the great depths of the sky. Again, you couldn't feel what was going on inside the bus, but looking out the windows showed them passing through a thick haze of clouds, drops of water trailing on the windows. Anticipation rose in the bus' passengers, and it was so thick it quite possibly could have been cut by a knife.

"I assume we're getting close..." Ximena mumbled, looking out of the purely white window. Atticus peered out the window as well, nodding a hello to Callie, and a grin spread across his face.

"Wow, never would have guessed we'd go to school in the sky." Niko remarked as the bus broke through the cloud barrier and into the beautiful sunset which the sky presented to them. Amidst all the clouds, there was a small patch of green, and the bus began making its way over to it.

"That must be where the institute is." Jesse added, stating the obvious. "That's really amazing, how they managed to make a little bubble of vegetation in this place."

((Oops, forgot this existed lol))

Aria started when a boy with fluffy blonde hair and sun-kissed skin moseyed onto the bus and plopped himself down on the seat beside her. She hadn't been expecting anyone to try to sit next to her and had planned to mostly pass the ride by thinking about what was in store for them when they reached wherever they were going. She glanced at him, trying to read him. He definitely seemed less uncertain than everyone else and more...excited? That was weird. Everyone was at least a little nervous but the australian boy looked anything but. She listened as he started up a conversation with the people sitting near them.
"...both of my parents are these constellation things- Hydra and Aquarius, you see- and my mortal parents aren't really my parents, but you know, it would suck if we never see them again."
So both of his biological parents weren't the ones that raised him. That must've been tough. But then again, all of their family situations seemed to be complicated, so there was nothing new there, she guessed.

(Lmao it's okay.)
Ximena and Jesse continued to converse about the new circumstances they had found themselves in, watching the spot of greenery as the bus approached it.

As Atticus sat back down in his seat after badgering Jess, he felt someone else's eyes on him- he wasn't particularly self-conscious, but either way, he looked round, and his eyes landed on Aria. He half-smiled, and mumbled, "Hi...hope I'm not bothering you or anything, I just didn't want to walk all the way to the back...I'm Atticus, but I'd rather you call me Niko. And you are..?"

Used to going basically unnoticed up until now, Aria was surprised when the australian dude started talking to her.
"Well you are bothering me. I never said you could sit here," she said with a small smile in return.
"Kidding," she quickly added, in case he didn't pick up on the sarcasm.
"Anyway, yeah I think they should start calling it a magical star train instead of a bus. I've never seen a bus this long in my life," she glanced behind her and could barely make out the back few rows. "It would be a pain to have to walk all the way back there."
She turned to look at Atticus once again. "I'm Aria Soo-ah Jin. Or I guess...I don't even know what my last name should be now, what with the whole magical star protector parent thing. I guess it doesn't matter. I'd rather keep my mom's last name than be associated with my dad; he was never around anyway..." she trailed off, realizing she was rambling.
"Not that I was being creepy or anything, but you told them both of your parents are these star things?" she said, gesturing at Ximena and Jesse. She'd been curious enough to look up her dad's star constellation thing but didn't know much about the others.
"What constellations are Hydra and Aquarius?"

Atticus' face fell for a few seconds, before he realized it was sarcasm, and instead he chuckled. "Well, to be fair, there's nothing normal going on here at all." he mentioned, ruffling his hair absentmindedly, so it looked even more fluffy and rumpled than before. "Nice to meet you, Aria." he said before remarking, "Well, it's hard to blame them, at least for me. They're like these powerful guardians or whatever, they have to have a buncha more important things to do than raise some kid."

Atticus thought for a second, then replied, "Aquarius is the Water-Bearer, and is one of the Zodiac Signs. I just know more about that one because my Zodiac Sign happens to be Aquarius." he laughed, then continued. "And I think Hydra is the Sea Serpent. Kinda scared to meet the heir of that one, sounds a little intimidating, dontcha think?? Anyways, what are your constellation lines?"

"Yeah but you'd think, since they're these supernatural beings, that they could send like an occasional birthday card or something. To cut off all communication..." Aria would've understood if her dad made a mistake; if the circumstances of her coming into the world were a one-night thing. But she could tell her mother had loved her father. He'd known what he was starting and would eventually leave behind.

"That does sound a little intimidating. But I just have one line, actually. My dad's Hydrus. So probably a lot like Hydra. According to Google, it's the water snake, whatever that is," she said with a shrug. "Do you think we'll have to meet them? Our star thing parents, I mean," she thought aloud. She hoped not.

"Well, I don't think we could cope with learning we're like...gods or something at the age of 6." Atticus mentioned, shrugging. "I'm sure they have their reasons." He didn't necessarily have any sort of grudge on his parents, perhaps because he had never met them before or had any knowledge of them. Then again, he looked nothing like his mortal parents.

"Oh, cool." Atticus nodded. "We probably will. I mean, we're probably going to learn of our destiny or whatever. Really celestial shit I guess." Atticus replied frankly.

The bus began to descend, and the institute was in sight. It looked quite big, even from where they currently were. The anticipation began to turn into excitement, and voices rose as the bus progressed and flew them to their destination.

Finn opened his mouth to say something in regards to Cleo's first statement, about them having no reason to lie, but quickly closed it again when she continued to talk about how them choosing her was a mistake. He could feel his heart break a little for this girl, even through he'd just met her. What could she have possibly gone through to make her think that way? It only occurred to him then that these were in fact total strangers, united only by their shared destination. His home life wasn't a universal constant between everyone else's family, and for that he felt guilty, mostly for assuming. "Surely not," he said finally. "Even if it was chance, there's no telling what exactly we'll be doing at this institute. Maybe you'll be much better at it then you think you will, maybe you'll enjoy life there. It's hard to say without being there to see for sure, so don't count yourself out now!"

As if on cue, the bus rocketed upwards above the clouds, and began a descent towards a quickly growing patch of green that held on it the institute. "Woah," he breathed, craning over to try and see out the window as they approached their destination. His sympathy for Cleo was quickly replaced by excitement, as the noise in the bus from the other students began to rise. He could hear their anticipation in the air, and it seemed to be infectious. "Who knew they could put entire buildings and grass up in the clouds? How has no one ever found this before?"

The bus began to descend lower and lower, until it pulled to a halt in front of the school. The bus loop looked more like an airplane runway, which was fair, as the bus didn't even resemble a bus anymore. Outside of the gigantic school, waiting on the marble stairs of the entrance, a few people were waiting for them. Some of them looked normal at first glance, but some had wings, ears, and other abnormalities.

Jesse hesitantly got up as the bus' sliding doors opened, trying to find his luggage in the overhead bins. Ximena followed suit. She was not one to follow the lead of others, but she had to admit- she had no earthly idea what the routine of this was supposed to be.

Atticus offered a small smile to Aria before getting up and searching for his belongings as well. Having seen what could only be some staff members, his excitement rose. Now they were in the thick of it, and he was keen to get his questions answered.

Cleo's eyes widened a bit in surprise at Finn's response. Honestly, she hadn't even been expecting a response at all. She had grown rather used to losing herself within her mind and having to sort herself out alone, and had almost forgotten that she was in the middle of a conversation once those familiar thoughts had started to creep in. She lightly shook her head as thought to clear it, but looked straight down into her lap and only replied with a muted "Sure, yeah, maybe."

Her mind was just beginning to wander again when she noticed Finn craning his neck to look out the window around her. Instinctively, she turned to look out the window too, and her breath forced its escape from her chest. The sky seemed to glow with energy, the gently gliding clouds both sea and ferry as they approached the marble spires and verdant assemblage comprising what could only be their destination. She couldn't take her gaze away from the otherworldly environment that enveloped their comparatively little vessel, and her legs slid down off the the seat as she turned her whole body towards her little portal to this mesmerizing world.

At Finn's excitement-fueled questions, Cleo surprised herself by breathing her own entranced thoughts aloud; "It's like the nexus or hub in an acclaimed fantasy title.. the kind of place only people destined to be heroes or legends are ever able to lay eyes on. Where the wise and powerful gather and prepare for the great adventures to come..."

You don't deserve to be in a place like this. Who do you think you are to look at it?
Cleo momentarily turned her head away from the window, her gaze falling and with it the light smile she hadn't realized had grown on her face. She tried to push the thought down and turned back towards the window, but the magic she had felt in the air seemed to have vanished. As the bus touched down at the loop, she felt for her backpack underneath her but otherwise didn't move, allowing those around her to retrieve their luggage without interruption. She needed to focus right now on trying to keep herself together long enough to learn for certain whether she was meant to come here.. or whether she really was just a mistake.

Bobby's body relaxed as he seemed to lay back in his seat as he heard her responses to his comments his arms calmly to his sides although occasionally propping him up. He was glad to have met someone that seemed to be in a similar situation. He admired the outfit of Elspeth briefly thinking that she had taken those pelts through her own hard work, not her father's blood, and prehaps his story helped. He'd laugh give a reafirmming "yeah, me too" as she commented to not hitting the tree, and a soft smile back as she reassured him of his answer.

As the marbled steps of the school came into site Bobby would gaze with a wonder. "It seems we're here, wonder what folks we'll be meeting. Are those wings?" As they landed he'd get up after a brief moment of rest starting to go to grab his bags from the overhead. "You got anything up here?" He'd ask in an open gesture to help pull anything down if she did. He'd wait for her to get situated to head out before starting to make his way out of the bus with a upbeat spark, "Out we go!"

Conversation with EggB EggB

The young woman felt a bit less nervous after their conversation, which El didn't know she needed. It had been a long time since anyone had actually made her smile. However, the bus' arrival to the school almost made Elspeth forget about her conversation. It was like a scene from a book. A beautiful building, with almost supernatural green colors swathed in the cream-like clouds. What a breathtaking sight. She actually paused as their conversation came to a natural standstill with the vision before them. Truly, she had never seen anything like it. This was the world her father knew? It suddenly hit her that he may, in fact, not have liked the mortal world nearly as much... Perhaps he was hiding here, away from the sickness and imperfection? The thought hung in her mind more than she liked, but Bobby was a good distraction.

His 'spark' was almost contagious. Eagerly, she watched the strange people outside the building with him. They did have wings, and horns! El was baffled. She glanced at Bobby, her eyes wide. "Those are... Definitely wings," she replied, noting their peculiar accuracy. The bus landed, and the woman registered the fact that her luggage was above her. She was more than okay with Bobby figuring out his luggage first, as hers would likely take almost no time. It was quiet for a moment as people within the bus-train shuffled to get their belongings. Luckily, no one seemed particularly in a rush. If anything, some people were taking longer simply because of the pressure. El, however, did not really seem to notice. The people at the front seemed to be her biggest preoccupation... And then it was her turn to grab her bags. Nodding to Bobby, she smoothly dragged the bag out of the compartment, put an arm through a strap, and all of a sudden it was situated comfortably on her back. It was very common for her to grab her bag like that, so she didn't spare it a second thought. It seemed she also didn't exactly register his offer to help, but she did appreciate the gesture of his words. At his exclamation, she nodded once more. "Let's go," she agreed, following after Bobby.

When the bus landed, Finn's excitement got the better of him, and he jumped out of his seat to pull his luggage from the overhead bins, briefly bumping the owner of the duffle with the hockey stick in the process and muttering a quiet 'Sorry'. It was only as he was setting his suitcase down on the floor that he noticed Cleo's demeanor. He debated saying something, but she seemed rather deep in concentration, and Finn gave a small frown. "Well, whatever happens, we should try and enjoy our time here at the very least. I mean, it's a cool magical school high in the clouds - who wouldn't want to at least have a look around?" Hefting his bag, he gave a small smile again. "I'll see you inside." The last sentence seemed less like a question and more like a guarantee. With that, he filed slowly off the bus with everyone else.

Callie hadn't moved. She couldn't think, could hardly breathe. Would she ever get to go home again? To see her mother? The strays she used to feed? Will they survive without her? These questions circled her head, paralyzing the girl in her seat as she hyperventilated. Not even the sounds of everyone else on the bus gawking at the school, nor the jostling of her seat partner getting up could shake her from her stupor. As others passed her, she didn't seem to take notice of their awkward stares, too deep into her panic attack. I'm going home. I'm going home. I'm going home. She repeated that mantra in her head, apparently set to remain on the bus until someone could tell her for certain that she'd be alright, that she'd get to go home eventually.

Remi didn't bother chipping in their two cents when the bus seemed to freak out over the appearance of the school. Sure, it was fantastical, but they had an image to maintain, and gawking at impressive floating structures didn't do much to maintain their outwards tough demeanor. When the bus pulled up to the school, Remi waited until the few kids who sat behind them had gotten their stuff and filed past them before also standing, retrieving their belongings from the overhead bin. As they passed the currently-freaking-out Callie, Remi simply scoffed and rolled their eyes. "Freak," they muttered, mostly to themselves, not really caring of Callie had heard them or not.

Cleo glanced up and in Finn's direction when he started talking to her again and said his farewell, but didn't say anything. Her eyes bore into the back of his head as he made his way to the front of the bus, until he stepped out and she was left looking at nothing. Despite her misgivings, he seemed to be a nice person, and she found herself feeling a little sad seeing him go.

No, she was fine. She was keeping it together.

It was only as her eyes were sweeping back to her lap that she noticed the girl across the aisle and a bit in front of her. A girl obviously struggling, yet that nobody was acknowledging as they all grabbed their things and made their way off of the bus. Their excitement distracted them, but Cleo was not excited; she was saddened. She felt herself instinctively pulled out of her seat to do something, though she didn't really know what. Waiting a moment for nobody to be moving through the isle, and leaving her bag behind under the seat, Cleo hesitantly walked the few paces forward to be beside the girl, and slowly slid into the seat next to her.

"Um.. are you alright..? Do you need any help..?"

Callie looked up when Cleo slid into the seat beside her. "Will we get to go home?" she asked, voice barely a whisper. "Do you know? I can't leave my mom, I can't leave my cats..." she shook her head. "I was so excited to come here, so excited. But will we get to see our families again?" Something about Cleo must have shaken her from her stupor, because finally Callie was looking around again, out the window at the academy, at the faculty waiting, their inhuman appearances spooking her enough to want to look away again. So instead she turned her wide-eyed stare towards Cleo, apprehension and fear apparent there.

As the new students made their way off their divine escort, a very, very tall woman opened her arms in greeting, stepping down the stairs of the Institute's entrance. She had bull-like horns, ears, and even a tail poking through her star-spangled dress. "Welcome, children, come along, come along. I'm enthralled to see that all of you arrived, despite having second thoughts." the woman's eyes twinkled. She obviously knew more than she was letting on. As soon as all the passengers left the bus, it vanished.

Jesse examined the woman. She looked...oddly familiar. Her eyes...they were like his! Were they related? It would make sense, as she had bull-like features, reminiscent of Taurus. The woman caught Jesse's gaze, and she smiled. Jesse chanced a smile back.

Ximena folded her arms and looked at the woman. The woman looked like she meant business, which meant one thing. Authority. She disliked her immediately.

Atticus was basically frothing with excitement. All this hubbub was heightening his enthusiasm, and it took him a whole lot of self-restraint to not immediately walk up to the divine woman and blab all the questions that were bouncing around his head.
