A New World, United

Raine  had finally regained control from the spectre, but not before he went on a rampage punishing those that deserved it in many different manners  making the punishment fit the crime.  She had managed to stop him from killing them but when they had first started she had regained control after every fight , now he could keep going and going, she felt she was losing herself. She didn't fear being swallowed or destroyed as the voice had told her she would guide him meaning she was safe, but she was slowly starting to want to hold him back less letting him do more. She din't know if she could hold him back forever from killing as slowly but surely she was becoming more willing to just let him go and  truly become the spectre herself instead of being two sharing one body.

Somehow Raine ended up in a more well to do neighborhood and for a little bit the spirit was silent as no one was close enough or had committed enough sins to rouse his vengeance, she was safe. Still she was wandering an unfamiliar place and her clothes had become torn and tattered. She had not been hurt or anything in fact she wondered if she could, as she had not been brought back fully she was a spirit but still she could hold things and people could touch her, yet she never really felt hunger or anything. She didn't really know what she was but that brought her back to her clothes which seemed to change depending on her mental state and right now she was having some issues as those vision that has horrified  hardened criminals, she had been forced to watch them and despite being somewhat shielded from the mind crushing effects they wore her down.  So now she looked sickly and thin with tattered clothes wandering somewhere she should not be.

"Okay, I'll have to think a bit longer. What about coming back in like... 4 days? I have to take my mind in peace. I hope that won't be a problem." Clara made a sign that they finished the conversation. The guards entered the room and after that they returned her in her cell.

When she returned in the cell, she recapped the day. It was the weirdest day in her life... Well, after the moment she obtained her powers. At least, she was finally able to take a break, and just decided to think about the offer of the woman with the umbrella on the next day. Before even noticing, she fall asleep.

After exchanging sarcasm with the lady of the house, Kivuli left before he ruffled too many feathers. Wandering down the street, he wondered if he should go check on the elderly man when something catch his eyes. He had paused to put his contacts in, hoping the woman he had been talking to assumed his natural eye color was from contacts. Blinking to make sure they were adjusted, the teen barely saw the girl out the corner of his eyes. Wait.. who's that?

Satisfied the contacts were in, he turned, half expecting the girl to have vanished. But she had not, she even looked worse now he was not blinking constantly. Despite his rough edged and general cold manner to strangers, Kivuli sometimes had a soft spot for young girls who looked in distress. He theorized that they reminded him of his biological and adopted sisters. Of course if they reminded him of some others girls like the ones he was raised with while training, he usually blew them off as they looked like they could take care of themselves. Observing the girl's wandering for a few moments, the teen tried to draw a conclusion if she needed help or if she was more of a wandering siren looking for prey.  Ah, what the heck. She looks a bit lost and kinda like Raz.. I wonder what the squirt's up to. Not much hopefully, though knowing her she's probably searching for me like a sister would search for their "troubled" brother.  Despite what I told her.. Shaking his thoughts from his head, Kivuli let out a sigh before shoving his fists in his pockets and tromping across the street.

Approaching the girl from behind, he stopped a few feet away and cleared his throat to get her attention. He had intentionally walking over pretty noisily so it would be obvious she was being approached, but he did not want to risk a kick to the nethers by accidentally surprising her from behind.  Now he was closer, he could see how thin and ragged her clothing was. Mentally kicking himself for his weakness, he rolled his eyes at himself as he pulled off his hoodie, revealing the thin muscle shirt underneath. "Hey... you cold?" He questioned the girl, prewarmed hoodie being offered to the complete stranger. Kiv, you're such a wuss. She's probably gonna whip a knife from her boobs and stab you. Then steal your clothes and leave you for dead.

When the man came up to her the spirit resumed it whispers even as he grabbed her attention she was told all his sis and the blood that stained the mans hands. She heard first and foremost about the boy and a tribe, about a girl he betrayed and the people he killed there . in her mind there was a cry for vengeance a demand to make the guilty suffer. She saw  all hs lies and  heard how he had frames  people for his murders and  even murdered the person  that had trusted him the most, though the spirit was not demanding on this point seeming to say that that was not his sin. Raine pulled away from the man not just out of shock but also fear as she knew what he had done and  knew what he could do every horrible act was whispered to her.  he was even told his dark mistrusting thoughts  worrying she would be the one to hurt him as if he was the innocent one.  It was only after a minute she even realized that he had asked her a question the sins and fear swirling in her mind then she realized he couldn't hurt her she was dead already why was she afraid.

" Afraid i'll stab you, like you did to the chief, afraid i'll steal from you like you stole everything from that tribe, from Durah" She said more than asked " Thinking i'll leave you for dead like you have done to so many others ... so many sins crying for vengeance" she said the last bit sounding almost as if she was in a trance as a noticeable green fog was starting to gather around the two of them.

Alex woke up to the signal of his AI assistant finishing the repairs on the suit. It was a good thing that the AI repaired those suits fast. Besides, most of them were using the same frame, so spare parts were interchangeable.

"It seems that I have fallen asleep. There's fatigue for you." Alex made a note to himself aloud, as he tried to get up from the couch. He couldn't as he was as sore as he was tired. The last energy blast sure packed enough wallop to lead to some concussions. Good thing he had the suit. Second attempt was successful and Alex was on his feet. He walked over to the suit, which was now as shiny as in day 1. Despite the fact that all the suits fit him, and the fact, that there are better suits in his collection, Alex liked the MK XLVI, which was the only one designed by his hand. All the others before it were Stark's creations. Mentioning Stark's name made Alex remember his primary mission. He was yet to find Stark. Sure, Alex was an engineering genius, but he was no match to Mr. Stark. He had to find him. However for now, he had his hands full with all sorts of problems. However something else caught his attention, causing him to suit up and fly off. This time however he chose a more standardized suit, stopping himself at the "Python"

Iron Heights Prison Facility

"LIGHTS OUT, LADIES!" The female prison guard yelled, making sure all prisoners were back into their respective cells. A woman with weird red hair and green makeup was being escorted to her cell, which happened to be right next to Killer Frost's. With a loud clunky sound, the heavy jail cell gate closed, leaving the woman inside to herself and her neighbor cell mate. Lights went out several seconds later. Poison Ivy leaned against the door of the cell. She hated the night time, since there was no light and she couldn't be between her favorite flowers in the garden. She spent her time in Iron Heights mostly tending to different sorts of vegetation, mainly because she preferred their company over humans. And now, she had to spend another lonely boring night in her cell. Or so she thought.

A loud explosion put a hole in the wall of the female section of the prison facility, triggering all alarms. Fluffy Mascots, armed with M16 and M4 Assault Rifles started pouring in, showering the guards with a rain of bullets. Most of the guards took cover, trying to save their lives and call for help in the same time. When the dust settled, from the hole emerged 2 figures - one dressed in purple with a huge smile on his face, and a tall man, dressed in green, wearing a horned helmet and a staff. It's not hard to figure out who the delinquents were.

"I must say that your primitive methods are rather effective!" Loki noted, seeing how Joker's army of armed mascots quickly took the control of the prison in their own hands. "Where is that dame you spoke of?"

"Let me see...!" The Joker started going from cell to cell. "Oooh, feisty, but not my type! NEXT!" with comments like these he went from cell to cell, finally reaching Poison Ivy's. "Ah, there you are. Harley wouldn't shut up about having to free you. Out ya go!" He pulled the door, which was shut solid. "Out you..." He pulled again, but nothing happened "...go?" He pulled a couple of more times, put the door won't budge. Loki walked over to the door and pulled it, ripping it clean from the hinges.

"Oh my, what a strong individual!" Poison Ivy noted as she walked out of the cell. The mascots started to retreat. Loki turned around to leave, but then stopped. He walked over to Clara's cell. By the time she should have been wide awake. The explosion and the shootout that followed were loud enough to raise even a dead person from his grave.

"What is your name, female?" Loki's tone was more of a demand, than a question. He felt the cold heart the woman had. It was colder than those of the Frost Giants of Jotunheim.

Clara surely heard the loud explosion and surely made her angry. "What the hell is going on? No one said anything about fireworks!" Just after that thoughts, she heard the shots. "Waait, no one said anything about guns either..." Clara went to see what's going on, After seeing the mascot army she thought that it was just a weird dream. Dreaming wasn't something usual for her, so she was ready to admit it as one. No. It was too real. After hearing the next door being ripped, she felt a deep fear. A bit later, she saw the tall man with the horned helmet. The fear forced her to replay shortly and correctly. "Clara Jones, sir. Some people call me Killer Frost."

"Strong words, addressing a god with humility." He grabbed the door of the cell and ripped it off clean as if it was paper towel. "Out you go, Killer Frost!"

"I am certain that you have big plans, Mr. God-Man, but we really have to go before..."

A loud metal clunk followed by the silent noise of mechanical actuators signaled the arrival of the man in an iron suit. "Prison Break has been canceled!" He raised his hand up, with Repulsor ready to blast them all. He was prepared to blast them all, along with the prison. However the loud alarm wasn't noticed only by this new Iron Man. Police units were on their way. However they were not gonna come in time. Thankfully the city had many heroes, ready to assist in situation like these. Neither of them was ready to fight a clown, a venomous woman, a frost maiden and a god. Alex was alone, having to deal with not only Loki now, but with Poison Ivy, Killer frost and the Joker. He was hilariously outnumbered and outgunned, if the mascots counted as well.

"I have detected 2 metahumans with their powers piqued, alongside the clown and Loki. 17 armed hostiles detected, carrying 5.65 armor piercing rounds. You are ill equipped to fight them, sir. I suggest a tactical retreat." Alex's AI companion was calculating everything based on logic and numbers. All the odds were against him. "Sir, We have incoming!"

"Incoming?" Alex kept his hand pointed at them, waiting for them to make the first move. His attention was shifted as a popup on his HUD showed an incoming flying towards the prison. It was big, it was metal and it was coming his way. "No freaking way!"

Another metal thump followed by the noise of actuators later and a second man in a suit stood right next to the first. Unlike the other, who was dark and more tactical, this one was red and yellow, brightly colored and had a triangle on its chest. Alex recognized it as Stark's favorite - Mk. VI, which was old, but still quite powerful.

"Mr. Stark!" Alex spoke, as his mentor raised both hands at Loki.

"Newbie!" Stark answered, switching his attention to Loki. "The joke ends now, Loki!"

"Oh, goodie, we have 2 toys to play with right now." The Joker was jumping and clapping, causing his companions some ire.

"Ok, Newbie, this is what we gonna do. I will contain him, you go call for help!" Stark was being himself.

"I don't know where have you been, Mr. Stark, but you have no idea on how dangerous those people with Loki are. We need a plan of attack!" Alex countered his mentor.

"I have a plan. Attack!" He rocket jumped towards Loki and both got in a clutch, fighting. Alex was left to deal with Ivy, Joker and Killer Frost.

"I guess it's round two then!" The suit started to disassemble around Alex, while his regular suit started materializing. Now with Stark back, he could show his face. The helmet of the "Python" opened, and flew off his body, as Alex was looking straight into the eyes of Killer Frost First, Joker Second and Ivy Third, juggling between them. The lights appeared over his body and the black suit materialized over his body. Alex spread his hands to each side and from his back several discs, glowing by the edge appeared behind him, hovering in place. He was going all out, flying his trademark Mk. XLVI. The discs were 3, and the suit was more skintight than the ones Stark had. Alex Repulsor jumped towards all his enemies, doing a butterfly kick, and again, Repulsor assisted spin, which caused the discs to become 6. When he landed the discs continued, flying towards the mascots. The 6 discs became 12, and then 24, and the 24 discs attacked the mascots, knocking them out immediately. Then the discs gathered back to Alex again shifting back into 3. He assumed a battle position, more like a ninja, than the brutish and gadget dependent style he displayed before, using Stark's suits and alias. It was evident that Alex's fight style came first and the suit came second. He extended his hand forward and provoked his enemies!

Kivuli tilted his head to the side as the girl seemed oblivious to him, though her gaze was on him. He watched her move away with a fearful look on her face, and he just felt confused. Wha..? I have my contacts in.. Umm.. do I look like some serial killer or something? He glanced down at himself to check how he looked, slinging the hood over his shoulder. Nah.. I look a little bruised. And this sling isn't helping my injured appearance. But usually girls find it cute to meet a rough-looking guy with an injury.

His gaze went back to the girl. What is her problem? He dropped his gaze to the floor, feeling awkward with this silent tension. "Ya know what? Whatever. I'm tryin' to be nice ya know since ya look like yer freezing yore ass off." He turned his back to the girl, hunching his shoulders and starting to leave the weird girl alone. Then, she started speaking.

He paused at her voice, turning his head slightly. Wait.. afraid she'ld stab me? Ha, likely chance.. He blinked. What the fuck? The hair on his neck's nape rose as his eyes widened with her words. His body tensed, and his posture changed to a ready-to-flee mode. His shocked gaze stared with disbelief at her, red energy from his raging emotions surrounding his hands. His arms and legs glowing brightly with the markings his original body had. He barely noticed the fog. His voice came out as a cracked whisper. "Who the hell are you? Who do you think you are?!" He growled. His fear covered with a show of aggression.

He stepped back from the girl, everything inside him screaming for him to run. But for some strange reason unknown to him, he found himself resisting what he always had done, running from his issues. Dimly aware his eyes were watering from the memories through his mind, he yelled at her. "How the fuck do ya know that?! Who are you? I swear if you're one of them I will kill you. I am not going back to that hell." Memories of the punishment from trying escape flashed through his mind. His body shook with fear, but his red- glowing eyes were hard and screaming "over my dead body".

" I know everyone's' sins, every  wrong done to and by them." Raine said    and as she looked up at the man  her eyes woudl glow green. she could see his anger and fear the spirit   trying to come out.

Still Raine didn't want to let him out just yet she  wanted   to not kill this man and there was no way she felt she could stop the spirit  knowing what he had done. Still  she also felt there was some good he didn't seem to want to go back to it, he didn't want to hurt others.

" Tell me are you sorry are you making up for it? she asked  her voice straining  to hold control "" If you aren't then i can't stop him, i don't want him to hurt people but he will kill you" she said cryptically.

"Well that must really suck for ya." Kivuli growled. He watched her warily, forming balls of red energy just in case. If he had moveable ears he would have flattened them as he listened to the girl.

His eyes started to hurt as he stared intently at her. His stirred up energy was trying to leak out his eyes like it was his arms and legs, but the contacts were stopping it. He paused a moment to take them out as his vision was hindered by the energy trying to get out. Blinking a couple times, he returned to staring intently at the girl. His red eyes two glowing orbs.

Him? Him who? He noticed the girl's eyes, but it wasn't like that was unusual in his mind. A pissed expression appeared on his face. "You tell me; if ya know Durah, ya know what I felt when I woke up. Or do ya only see the horrors of what I did, not the shit that was done to me to make me do 'em?"

" He only  knows the wrongs committed by and against others " Raine said  her skin seeming a little more pale  than it had before her clothes seeming to shrink and turn green as the Spectre neared.  " I know you suffered i know what they made you do and he does too but The Spectre he is vengeance, and there is blood on your hands. I can't hold him off  much longer " Raine continued  seeming to get taller the fog growing thicker the feeling of a coming storm  would be felt as things seemed to get darker  and  the world seemed to vanish around the two. " SO  answer me what are you doing  to wash the blood away" she stated still speaking in a strained tone.

Alex was sitting on the couch, head leaning back, looking at the ceiling. The fatigue was taking its toll on the young man and he fell asleep. While he was having a well deserved nap, his computerized assistant, ADAM was working diagnostics on the multiple suits Alex had in storage. Most of them were Tony Stark's but Alex did his part in expanding the collection. Apart from that, he also had ordered ADAM to work on something special, based on the Mark 41 suit, codenamed "Bones". While the machines were working, ADAM was also scanning the city for unusual activities, since now Loki was present.

Meanwhile, Batman was back to patrolling the streets. Unlike Iron man, who used technology to his advantage, Batman was old fashioned. He preferred to do things personally. He was moving from building to building, alley to alley, questioning every scumbag he could find about the Joker's whereabouts. Alas, with no success. However...

He jumped down the alley, coming face to face with the creature. "What in the...." He was having hard time believing what he was seeing. He prepared a weapon, just in case the creature was hostile. But without Iron Man's equipment, he had no way of knowing what the thing was. "What are you?" He was speaking slowly, and trying not to scare the thing or provoke it. "Do you understand my words?"

The creature twisted around like a mangled ballerina, it's sharp pointy feet ripping through the flimsy trash bags that made the alley way's floor, as it made a strangled squeak of surprise. It would have been a louder sound, if the poor thing had gotten a Chinese takeout box stuck on its beak, it made small distressed noises before its large claws were able to rid it of its 'attacker'. As clearly shown, Batman's sudden arrival startled the poor thing.

The soft vibration of the Dark Knight's voice soothed it's small panic attack before its thoughts could send it into defense mode. "Do you understand my words", now... How to respond? The beast lowered its head to the ground, its hollow beak echoing as it tapped in Morse code: Y-E-S. It's voice was capable of speach, but it depended on the willingness to try... Words are very tiring when you have warbled vocal cords. Otherwise, Birb (The name that it had chosen for itself) would be screwed if the Dark Knight didn't know Morse code.

A dark Alley...

The bat listened to the tapping on the ground. 3 quick taps, followed by one, then 6 quick taps, break, tap, break, then 3 more taps. "Morse code..." Batman was one of the smartest heroes out there, figuring this out was simple task for him. "So you are not just a creature, you are intelligent being. Are you an Alien?" Batman was trying to figure out where the creature came from, when the gadget Alex gave him beeped. "Stark needs my help!" He thought to himself. However he had his hands full as it is. The creature didn't look hostile, it looked more like a wild animal, looking for food. Strangely enough, Batman felt bad for the creature. He reached for his belt, putting Alex on the line. "I'm a little busy right here!" He said in the coms, after which he switched the attention back to the animal. "My friend is in trouble. I have to go. But I can't leave you here, alone!" Batman spoke slowly, so Birb can understand. He even switched his voice machine off, so he doesn't sound so intimidating. "I can't guarantee you will be safe if I leave you alone. Somebody out there might try to hurt you."

Alex spoke to ADAM. "Contact Batman. I need some help here, I am outnumbered and outgunned." And soon enough the bat was on the line. "Hey, bats! I need a little bit of help out here!" The answer didn't sound good to Alex. He was still alone. And although he managed to dispatch the mascots, he was still facing Poison Ivy, who wasn't much of a threat, considering the filters of the suit, The Joker, who was just a psycho with a gun. The real problem was Frost, who had not only the strongest power inbetween them all, but also a personal vendetta with him.

"Alright, you freak shows! Forget that formal crap, coming at me one at the time. I'll take all you bitches out!" he spread his hands to the side again, calling the discs. He jumped towards his enemies, and with 3 well aimed hand movements and a Repulsor powered flip, he sent one disc at each of the foes that stood before him, before landing on the ground in the signature Iron Man move.

"Are you an Alien?"

N-O

A rough, yet gentle chuckle rumbled through the beast's broken cords, a natural reaction to a silly question... At least IT thought it was. The idea of a movie screen alien and comparing it to itself was funny. When Batman answered Stark's call, the creature's long, dangling arms scraped the ground as the creature shuffled the trash bags at IT's toes. It knew. Something was going on.

"I think it's time for payback, piece of scrap." Clara made a single icicle in her hand to make sure she was able to use her abilities. "I hope you were the reason I ended here. I don't plan losing this game." After her enemy threw the discs, Clara formed an ice wall to block them. After the wall took the attack, Clara broke it to make sure it won't stand on their way. After that, she made a few icicles that were flying in Alex's direction. It wasn't with intension to hurt or damage him, it was more like of a test how flexible and fast he was. Even if she had unfinished business with him, she kinda started to thinking she don't want to hurt him. That was the moment when she started to lead two fights - one, physical, where Alex was involved, and a second one - a moral one, with her own self.

A dark Alley...

"You want to help?" He gave it a quick thought. He had no idea of the creature's abilities, but its intellect was something he could trust. Besides, this way it could prove useful in a fight. "Alright!" Batman pressed several buttons on his wrist, and the bat-mobile appeared around the corner. The hatch opened, exposing the spacious interior, more of an armored personnel carrier, than a car. It was spacious enough to fit a whole army. Batman made his way inside, inviting the creature to join him. When the creature was inside, he hauled ass towards the Iron Heights prison facility. "I'm on my way. I bring help!" Batman spoke on the radio.

Iron Heights Prison Facility

The discs slammed into the wall, with their electrified glowing edge melting the ice. Even with that, Frost's ice was colder than absolute zero, not allowing the discs to get through. As soon as the wall was down, they flew back and behind Alex. "God damn it!" He was showered by the debris, the ice shards. They weren't enough to damage his armor though. The Mark XLVI was the pinnacle of years of Stark Enterprise engineering, combined with Mercertech's engineering. The suit was not only lighter, and tougher, but also more compact, as it was made from a sort of nano technology, exceeding the conventional iron man suits. The suit was self repairing if damaged, but being nano-tech, any damage it took was transferred to the operator inside, meaning every hit on the suit Alex could feel inside, with lesser force. Having icicles flying his way, he simply raised his hand and a flash of light later, the icicles splashed over the suit as lightly warm water. "Are you testing me? You have absolutely no idea what I am capable of! I held back on you the last time!" He reached with his right hand, grabbing the palm of his left, pulling his left hand back and his right one forward, he extended what looked like a chain, which he splashed a couple of times against the ground like a whip. The chain then straightened and hardened like a sword in his hand. "But this time you are all out of luck!"

"Don't be so sure about that, honey!" Ivy started releasing some sort of gasses from her palms, which quickly filled the area. The Joker held his nose as soon as he saw the gas. "Don't worry hon, this is not gonna hurt!" She said gently, addressing the man in the iron suit. The gas was pheromones, capable of melting even the coldest male heart. It had no effect on women, so it wasn't affecting Frost. However it wasn't affecting Alex either. Or so he thought. Ivy could manipulate the particles and soon Alex could feel his legs getting soft.

Fortunately the cavalry just arrived. The bat-mobile flew past the fighting people, dispelling the gasses. The car stopped and the hatch opened.

"BATMAN!" The Joker Yelled. "That flying rodent is mine!" He pulled out a knife and jumped towards Batman!

Ivy still had her attention to Alex, as Alex had his attention to the two girls. He was holding the sword, ready to strike. "Hey, bats! Nice to see you here!"

Several explosions later, Iron Man tumbled and fell right next to Alex, who in turn helped his master get up. Loki hovered down and right next to the girls.

"On your feet, Big man!" Alex pulled the half broken Iron Man up. "I guess you need change of clothing! All of you!" The panel of the hand holding the sword opened, exposing Alex's watch. He imputed some numbers, causing 2 bright dots to appear on the horizon. The Mark 42 landed right next to Stark, and another suit landed right next to batman! "I told you can trust me!" The suit assembled over batman. With the forces now almost equal, Stark, Mercer and Batman stood a fighting chance against Joker, Ivy, Frost and Loki. They were still one man short. However, It was Batman, who brought company to even the odds @Lavender

The battle was set.

Kivuli blinked as he finally noticed the weird changes coming over the girl. His eyes rolled at her answer. So yea.. she sees the worse in everyone. His muscles tensed and the teen noticed the fog. The static feeling of the quiet before a battle seemed to have a calming effect on him. Come on, focus. Whatever it is she's talkin' 'bout is supposed to kick ass of people like you. He closed his eyes for a second to let his instinct take over. Calm in the face of danger, Kivuli let out a small sigh. His switch from absolute panic to completely chilled would confuse most people.

A frown appeared at her question. He shrugged. "What can I do? Blood's stain can't be removed. I can go 'round helpin' people all I want, but it only makes me feel better for a second. " His gaze had been on the floor, but he lifted his eyes to stare at the girl. "What would ya do in my situation?"

Inside Raines' mind the boy actually  shrunk in importance as the spirit knew of the  prison break and  that was a greater  issue than one lone killer.  Wile The Spectre was not one for forgiveness or second chances  Raine was and so was The One  so  well given this person seriously seemed to desire to repent and that there was a bigger issue  he woudl leave it there. As far as the prisoners went  he woudl not kill them humans were getting their own vengeance in a way, though he cared little for Justice on their scale.  This reflected in Raine seemingly returning to normal as the two agreed  in what needed to be done a real balance between them finally established for the moment.

Raine came back to reality and looked at the man " Kvuli I believe you want to change and greater matters have come up. If you want to make up for your past then, there is a prisoner break out  at Iron Heights  prison   can you get there soon?" she asked the spirit planning to go there soon like she did.

Kivuli watched as the girl seemed sidetracked. His head tilted to one side as he tried to figure out from any facial expressions what she was thinking. To his frustration, there wasn't enough body language for him to decipher anything. He took a step back of surprise when she refocused her attention on him.

He grinned at her question. Well, he smirked. The teen shrugged and commented. "I could get there in a blink, but my shoes burn my feet." He gave the threadbare shoes an irritated expression, grumbling to himself about there not being a suitable clothing here.
