The neko was not there when he waoke. He heard the sound of a vacumn going off, and she was moving frantically.

Winter woke up, hearing the sound of a vacuum and seeing Alena move frantically. "Alena? What are you doing?" He asked.

Alena was sweating and looking to him, "I-I had to go and vacumn the house, no one else did and I fell asleep..." She shivered a little bit.

He grabbed hold of her shoulders gently and stopped the vacuum. "Alena. No you didn't. It's fine if you go to sleep anytime, day or night. And as far as this, you certainly didn't have to do that. You're not a personal maid you know. What happened to just relaxing?" He asked softly.

"I was asleep for seven hours!" She looked down, "I'm never supposed to do that! I'm supposed ot help you!" She looked down, not sure what to say other than that.

He shook his head. "No. Alena, please listen to me. Whatever of those old lives you had is not the same here. You're not supposed to do anything you don't want to. I'm not gonna make you do anything you did on the past. I'm not gonna have you be a maid, not gonna have you as a personal time, and I'm certainly never gonna hurt you. So you slept for a while, good! You can do what you like here! I'm not angry, I'm concerned about you. I just want you to rest, relax, have some fun for a chance instead of thinking about working and pleasing me. Please.." He concluded quietly.

Thinking over his words, she began to gently tremble. From the start, she had to work. If she didn't work, her master's would hurt her. Sometimes even under her dress. She felt like she had to. If she didn't, what did she honestly bring to the world? Work and please, work an please, that was what she knew. To hear him counter over 14 years of training... was something she didn't know hoe to comprehend.


"Why?"

"Cause this is a new life for you. And I don't want to have you go through everything you have in the years again. I want to I've you a good life, one you probably didn't have. I want you to be happy.." He said

She looked to him and looks down, then she sat down. She blinked a little bit and wasn't sure, still thinking about how to do this. She sighed, "...I'll try."

He looked to her and and say down beside her. "Thank you. I promise, I'll continue doing everything I can and more to help you." He said.

She nodded and gently laid a hand on his own, "but... can I at least finish the vacuuming?" She looked up, "I-I... it's a thin of mine... never leave anything half done..."

He thought about it for a moment, then nodded. "Sure. As long as you're just finishing." He says and takes her hand in his before gently letting go.
