A New School, Another Start

His name? Oh yes, he had almost forgotten. "Kyoya." The last name wasn't important. He doubted she would know him by last name anyway. She didn't look like the type who would know about his family business. "And we take care of ladies and gentlemen such as yourself. Our job is to make you feel special, to flatter and treat you like the woman you want to be, in any fashion of the sense. We are your hosts."

"Kyoya," she tested his name on her tongue before smiling. She listened closely, before nodding. "Is that so? Then..may I request you as my first host?" she asked, gently folding her hands in front of her as she looked up at Kyoya, who was significantly taller than her...then again she quite short for someone her age.

Kyoya was slightly surprised that she would go and request him. Of course, he was just as popular and the other Hosts, unfortunately his bookish nature and the fact that he always looked extremely busy made it so no one asked for his attention, they didn't want to disturb him. He smiled down at her, nodded and put away his notepad and pen. Placing it on top of a table.

The young man gently placed a hand on her back and gestured towards one two sets of deep red sofas by the window. "Of course you may, young lady. How about the beautiful view by the window? The sun is to bright to pass up."

Luka smiled and gave a small nod as Kyoya lead her over to the beautiful setting. Once the two reached there, Luka looked through the window and examined the beautiful scenery in front of them. Smiling, she settled down on the sofas and looked toward Kyoya, "So... " she started, "What's your job in the Ouran High School Host Club? It's obvious you're not just a host..."

Kyoya smiled and poured the young lady a cup of tea. Where the little cart filled with cakes, tarts, cookies and sandwiches had come from was a question with a answer known to no man, but it was there anyhow, making his job a lot easier. "I take care of our income and outcome. See me as the business owner." He smiled gently at her. "Sugar?"

Kyoya wasn't much of a flirt, not like Tamaki who probably would have called her sugar or said something about her presence would sweeten the tea on its own. Kyoya was less fairy book romantic and more of a traditional man. He would smile, answer questions, listen and care. Not touch, flatter or comment.

Luka nodded at his question, then pondered on what he said. "Is that so? So you're the manager of the Host Club? That's quite the job," she laughed. "Isn't it a lot of pressure? I mean it sounds like a pretty big job," Luka said.

It was rare for Luka to be so interested in a tiny club, and it made the brunette ponder why she even cared. Maybe it was interesting the fact that six boys came together to treat gentlemen and ladies how they wished to be treated? Or how different each person she had met so far merged together perfectly to create a nice club to be in? Honestly, the girl didn't know.

Kyoya couldn't help but to smirk as he dropped a sugar cube into the young girls teacup. "I have to say that I do look forward to Honey's yearly tooth-problem." It was true. The cakes and sweets was the biggest problem for the manager of the club. It cost far too much money, which meant a lot of negative calculations which meant even more calculations. It was rather tiring to even think of. "But no, it is quite easy in fact." He added, smiling at her. "Would you like some cake, my dear?"

A soft blush painted Luka's cheeks at the nickname. Smiling, she nodded. "Yes please and thank you," she hummed, taking a sip of her tea. "Honey's yearly tooth-problem? Why, what does he eat?" she asked, a bit shocked.

(( wow that is really short I'm sorry ))

Kyoya didn't even want to respond to that question. Instead he simply pointed with one long arm and a long finger towards the big table in the middle of the room, not too far from Tamaki himself. There sat a tiny boy, who looked like a eight year old, in full school uniform with a big pink bunny plushy. He was eating, what seemed to be his fourth cake, seeing how many empty plates he had on the table. He also happened to have a giant decorative cookie tower and two trolleys of sweets and beautiful cakes.

Kyoya pushed his glasses up over his nose, frowning behind them as if the scene repulsed him. He then turned towards his guest and gave her a flattering smile again, as he places a small plate with a beautiful yellow strawberry shortcake in front of her, with a golden spoon.

[ @juuchanisu Editing, just a little:]

"Kyoya-senpai." A voice came from behind him. Kyoya didn't even have to turn around, he knew very well who that sweet spoken juvenile voice belonged to. "Ah, Haruhi, I was wondering if you were still around. What do you need?" He turned his head so he could take a better look at their newest Host. She was dressed in the classic blue uniform and with the short hair it would seem impossible for know her gender, even if Kyoya had figured it out from the start.

"I was simply wondering, seeing as I don't have any guests to attend to, if I please could do some studies?" Haruhi asked, she then peered at the young lady sitting next to Kyoya, wondering for a moment if they knew each other from before - she wasn't certain if Kyoya actually was that kind of host.

"Luka, dearest, this is Haruhi, our newest member. I suspect that you will see a lot of him, in the future." Kyoya spoke with an awfully kind and sweet voice, which caused Haruhi to narrow her eyes and quickly look away as if he would be able to posses her soul. She assumed that she indeed could not study this afternoon.

Luka looked up at the new host, before smiling gently. "Haruhi, is it? It's my pleasure to meet you," Luka said, maintaining eye contact. Haruhi had looked familiar, but she couldn't point a finger on it. He probably went to her previous schools, seeing as Luka moved more than once in her past years. She stood up and bowed before seating herself. "Have I seen you before?" she asked with a soft voice, a bit curious.

She had sliced a piece of cake and placed it on her lips, parting her lips a bit as she took a bite.

Haruhi blinked a few times. She certainly did not recognize the young woman. Kyoya noticed the young 'boys' expression and knew very well what she was thinking. He doubted that Haruhi would be able to remember anyone, she seemed to be that sort of person who didn't understand body language or even when someone said straight to her face that they loved her. HE looked back at his guest smiling down at her.

"Haruhi has recently transferred to Ouran. She's our honor student, which means that she got in on her grades and not because of her money." The young man stated, slowly lifting a cup of the towards his lips.

Haruhi looked down at Kyoya, or more likely straight at him seeing how tall he was, even when sitting down. This school was incredibly strange. Money was so important to them. Even though Kyoya mentioned her grades with a voice that was meant for flattery she still knew very well that he didn't mean it that way. Kyoya had good grades too, better than hers even and therefore she doubted that he found her way into the school admiering.

"Honor student? That's amazing," Luka praised, with a small laugh. "It's quite impressive, for a commoner to be in such an elite school like this. You're interesting, Haru-kun. Very interesting," she smiled, taking another bite of her small cake. "And...she? Kyoya-kun, I'm positive Haruhi is a male, are you not?" The girl had realized that Kyoya had said 'she' instead of 'he'. Luka turned to Haruhi and examined him carefully. He was wearing the male uniform, though he did have some feminine features. Sighing, Luka shook her head in never mind as she glanced up at the clock, "Kyoya-kun, what time do you guys close?"

Kyoya blinked behind his glasses. Had his tongue truly slipped already? Tamaki would- It was then the blond man appeared, slamming his hands down on the armrest just next to Kyoya, anyone would twitch in surprise but not this man, he never twitched around Tamaki. "How dare you insult Haruhi's manliness?!" The french boy shouted and then threw himself over Haruhi. "He's so cute I could eat him up!! Oh Haruhi!" "Let go of me please..." "Haruhiii~"

While Haruhi and Tamaki was spinning around the room like what one would describe as crazy people. Kyoya simply shrugged and chuckled at himself. "I have to admit that I get trouble with feminine men. Apologize if I confused you, Luka, dear." He looked back at the young woman, smiling again.

Luka watched the small...interaction between Haruhi and Tamaki with wide eyes, deadpanning a bit. "Erm..." Luka turned her head to Kyoya and smiled gently, "It's alright. I could understand how you can get confused by Haruhi's gender. To be honest, I thought he was a girl for a split second," she laughed.

She smiled gently, "The Host Club is interesting. I wish I could visit more often." she smiled. "It's such a pleasant place to be in, and you guys are too kind~"

"That is our job, after all." Kyoya said, smiling back at her as he finished his tea. He pulled one leg over the other and pondered in silence for what seemed to only be a few seconds. "You will notice that as soon as you're getting used to Ouran, you'll have plenty of time to spend in here." He gestured around the room. "After all, the clubs of Ouran is what takes up most of our time." It was true, lessons wasn't taking up as much time of their day as they perhaps should. Students at Ouran went there to enjoy their time not to get stressed out.

Tamaki finally stopped dancing around with Haruhi who almost crawled back up at Kyoya. "Can-- Can I please study... just a little?" She asked, and the young man didn't even look at her, simply pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and crossed his arms. "You may, until someone requests you. As always."

"Kyoya!" The echoing voice of the twins could be heard from miles, it was even more annoying when it was used almost inside your ear. The two of them appeared beside him, looking down, arms around each other. "Who's the new girl?"

"Clubs of Ouran takes up most of your time...?" she mumbled, twirling a piece of her hair between her fingers. "Is that so? Never been to a school like this one," she laughed. She watched the interaction between the hosts with a smile, until two devilish twins; who look awfully familiar appeared beside Kyoya.

With a gentle smile (though inside she's a bit irked, seeing as she remember where she saw them: not too long ago when they cornered her in the classroom), Luka greeted the two hosts, "Hello. I'm Luka Shishima, nice to meet you," she smiled, taking a sip of her tea.

"Heya." They both raised their hands at the same time, like a reflection in the mirror. "You'll request us next time right?" "We're a lot more fun than Kyoya." "Yeah, a lot more fun..." The twins grinned at each other and then back at the young girl. This simply didn't cause Kyoya to feel bad, nor any better. It was the twins jobs to be the way they were, it was good for business. "This is Hikaru and Kaoru, I am sure you must have seen them once or twice making a scene in the school halls?" The man with the glasses said, looking at her, kindly.

Hikaru and Kaoru was looking over at Haruhi who was slowly waddling away, like a crab on the beach, trying to avoid them.

Luka laughed gently, nodding. "Yeah, I've seen them around once or twice. May or may not have commented on their behaviour and got corner..." she mumbled quietly, averting her eyes at the last part. She smiled at the boys anyways, "And I would love to request you sometime, maybe if I come back," she said.

She then remembered she hasn't introduced herself, "Oh! I'm sorry. I'm Luka, Luka Shishima, nice to meet you!"

The twins would simply nod. They had nothing more to say really. The fact that they apparently had been cornering her made them look at each other as if horribly confused. Maybe they indeed had? It was hardly their fault if they did. Snickering to themselves they shrugged and walked back to their table where some girls were waiting. Kyoya wondered if he was going to recommend the twins or not, they were quite tricky for sensitive ladies.

Haruhi had placed herself at a table not far from them with towers of book on law and order in front of her. She kept getting interrupted by the blond guy, Tamaki who kept telling her that she looked adorable as a bookworm. She wasn't so certain.

Kyoya turned to Luka again, after watching the room. "Tell me something about yourself?"

"Oh, something about me?" Luka piped. A smile graced her features as she thought for a moment, "Well, I guess you could say I'm a dancer and a pianist. I take piano lessons during my free time during school and dance lessons every other day during the week. I actually moved back here recently from England," she explained. "My mother and father are, I believe, planning to send me to England once again for school, seeing as we visited England only for a vacation."

Her voice faltered a bit, before she looked up at Kyoya and smiled, "What about you? Anything other than the Host Club?"

Kyoya's private business was his private business so he made sure to quickly smile at the young lady, not wanting to mention the fact that he was the youngest of three brothers and had to work so much harder to have a chance to inherit the family company. It was all too boring and complicated for a young lady to enjoy as 'gossip'. "This is my business." He smiled at her, tilting his head. "It is my hobby as well as my job. Other than it I study business, leadership and politics. Nothing too glamorous." And of course there was also..." And painting."

"Painting? Ah, an artist then? That's absolutely lovely! I use to love drawing when I was younger, always doodling on my work. However, I always got yelled at," she laughed gently. She folded her hands in her lap and turned to Haruhi, a bit curious about the young man. She opened her mouth to ask a question, but he seemed so involved in his studying, she decided against it and turned to Kyoya with a gentle smile.

"So, what do you paint? Landscapes?" she guessed.

"Yes, I suppose you could call it that. For now I'm stuck at a pretty difficult painting, a flower, of sort." Kyoya said, mumbling the last part, not because it was embarrassing but because it wasn't entirely true. He wasn't actually painting a flower it was just something his mind kept referring to when he was thinking about his family troubles. Kyoya looked back down at the young lady, tilting his head with that gentle smile still plastered on his lips. "I assumed you to be more of a... musical soul, seeing how gentle you seem."

A smile was placed on her lips as she nodded, "I've been around music my whole life, my mother always used to play such beautiful pieces on the piano when I was younger and my father was a violinist. They matched well..." she mumbled off, her voice growing a bit distant. She missed the old times with her family, where all three of them would sit together and sing, dance and play. Sighing, she shook her head. Luka knew if she dwelled on the past, her mother and father would never get any work done and it'll be a problem for the Shishimia family.
