A New Different Zombie RP

There's a new zombie RP out and we would like more members. This one's a little different. We would like people to join, and help create a moving plot. This one won't be like the other ones. You must actually try to survive because you CAN die. Why not have a look see? ovo The Decay

I can name roughly a hundred zombie survival scenarios that consider themselves 'different' or 'unique' in some aspect. Take my advice; actually go into some detail about why precisely your ideas are different from anybody else's. Also, be prepared to take a bit of critique about them. Zombie Survival is painfully overdone to the point that playing one seriously is virtually impossible.

Honestly I guess i was generalizing other zombie rp's a bit. The story is really what everyone makes it. Sure we have a few ideas for plot and where we want our characters to go from this, but we want it to last a while because we have these own ideas. The problem with that is the fact that people join for different reasons. Some want endess action, others want romance, others just like zombies. What I'm hoping for is for people to join and try and make this less about zombies, and more about the story itself. This wasn't really an answer, as I am not the main creator of this, but I know the guy who created this wants many people to join and wants to make a story that is unexpected and lasts a while. You can join if you are interested, but if not, its cool that you took the time to reply here.

A better way to answer that would be to have you ask questions. You've seen hundreds of zombie rp's so you must know what they all have in common. Ask specific questions and I'll try to answer them as best I can.

Then I'd be curious how you intend to handle things like the plot, encounters with zombies, etc. Are there any special factions, how important is getting supplies, how easily can you die, etc?

[/QUOTE] Your questions made me smile. We want this as realistic as possible. We usually see people starting with double uzi's with silencers and stuff, but honestly that makes no amount of sense. Unless you're an ex marine or a cop, the most you can find is a melee weapon and RARELY a handgun since not everyone just owns weapons. You also gotta craft stuff, and find things like food or ammo. Also, since its the beginning, one cant just be skilled at using weapons or guns or survival period. They have to experience it and learn. Zombies arent going to just be easy to kill. One person vs 3 zombies will be hard. Even vs 2 zombies will be hard, at least at this point since people still have to get used to killing zombies and not seeing them as sick people and they have to get over smelling the decayed flesh and the blood and guts. Thats where plot comes in. The characters develop. Also death isnt just gonna be easy to keep it fair. If circumstances allow it, you will die. Like if you start problems wirh people for no reason, or if too many zombies are around and you make poor decisions. There will be votes to see when hordes attack. And if you have your fists vs someone with a gun, odds are you're gonna get killed unless you surrender or run. Thats why we let people have at most three characters and we want people to have diverse personalities.

Have you anybody with any real experience handling firearms arbitrating the roleplay? If you're looking for realism, I have some fairly extensive experience in firearms usage, and I've advised people on their realistic depiction before. If that's a priority, of course.
