Skylar got out of Damien's arms and stood up, rubbing her head. "That's gonna be a bump tomorrow morning."

(Well it is part of Season 1, you had... However many episodes of life or death situations, add a bit of romance, add betrayal, and then some epic boss fights, and after that people demand more danger? Meh, I kinda like the semi calm and quiet feel to the second part of S1...)

"Then take it." He said as he threw an orb at her which got absorbed into her body. His own wings became slightly smaller as he watched wings sprout from her back and the flower she had turned into a rapier.

Mai's eyes widened as the object meddled with her flesh. The feeling of a thousand knives piercing through the skin of her back as pair of large wings bursting from her body. She fluttered the black feathers in excitement, trying to flap them, slicing the sword in the air as the new-energy flowed through her body "This....feels amazing!" the girl exclaimed, gripping the black rapier and pointing it at the Angel-like man.

Skylar smiled. "you're one of us, Mai. How does it feel?"

Mai gripped the blade, and cut her own arm with the weapon. Watching shadow slowly piece her skin back together. The surge of energy was nice, but it wasn't her style. "...Just...giving me power?" she muttered in thought, glancing towards Sky "I'm not a Myth. I don't feel like I deserve something like this....and immortal's power" The scientist looked down guiltily at her hands, with a small smile. "I already have an orb with the perfect mixture of DNA that Damien helped create. I'm not letting that effort go in vain. So I'm going to forfeit these powers to one of you once we get back, does that sound okaie with you?"

"WHAT?! Are you insane!? This is everything you've wanted!" Skylar looked at her like she was insane.

 

[Nekoni]

"It is....and I would have loved these powers..."Mai laughed a little, looking down in disappointment. "I know it sounds silly....But I can't find happiness if I don't earn it. " the scientist sighed, feeling the air between the feathers of her wings. It was a motif she lived her life by. "I'll just be a vessel for this surplus power until one of you accepts it from me, just so this man can go to sleep. I already have someone in mind to give these powers to anyways." she smiled.

Skylar tilted her head slightly. "Mind telling us?"

 

[Nekoni]

"Your lover of course. He always seems sad that he's never able to protect you. He already has wings so it won't be a big change, but he'll be stronger and more ready in a fight." Mai was determined on this, hoping that the angel wolf would use it better than she would have. "It's not like it's a loss to me or anything. You'll be able to teach him about these shadow abilities as well."

Skylar was shocked. 'Thank you." she whispered and hugged Mai.

Angelus fell asleep on his throne once more. For a moment nothing could be heard but as the wind blew and shifted the ashes a female's voice could be heard whispering "Thank you..."

Mai jumped a bit as she hugged her, it was a bit of a surprise. "No need to thank me...." she smiled in relief as she watched the man fall back into his slumber on his throne as he muttered a name. "Now...how do we get back?" she asked in curiosity, hearing the soft voice of a woman "Did..you hear that?".

The wind blew once more. "Thank you child..." The winds whispered. Angelus turned in his sleep and whispered "Persephone..."

Skylar looked up. "Yeah... I heard it." Skylar looked around, curiously.

Mai smiled, remembering the name "Must be Persophene..." she muttered with a light smile. The legends of the queen of the underworld, the goddess who supported spring and life. "What did you do anyways that made this guy to come after you anyways?" she asked the myth-girl.

"Honestly? I have no idea. " Skylar chuckled.

Mai flexed the muscles in a black wing, stretching it to examine all the feathers. "Well, let's make sure to get back before you wake him up again..." she laughed, feeling the weight of the new appendages. "Damien would probably know a way out."

Skylar chuckled softly and nodded. "Hey Mai? Sorry we kinda got off on the wrong foot. I never hated you personally, just your kind."

"Please don't tell me you're just opening up to me now that I have this shadow power" she laughed in a half-hearted manner "Don't fret about it too much...I probably deserved it...I can't ever seem to get my words right around Myths, as being a scientist and all." Mai felt the immortal's powers running through her veins, enjoying the feeling of strength.

Skylar chuckled. "It's okay. And no, it's not because you have shadow powers. You make Hydro happy. He's always happier around you. Dad trusts you, and if you WERE going to experiment on me, you would've done it by now. I have a trust issue, come from being beaten by your father and your mother being dead." Skylar sighed.

 

[Nekoni]

"I'm obligated to ask before I experiment on people. Besides, like I would have any chance of restraining a Shadow-myth on a table without any of my supplies." Mai laughed jokingly, knowing if he had met Skylar on Earth before the agreement; her relationship with her would be much different now. She had almost shot Damien down on their first encounter,but that little piece of information seemed best to keep secret from the others, especially at this moment. "Don't be sorry, I can't blame you for something you can't control. I'm sorry for your loss, and the experiences you've had in your life but please...you don't ever need to be afraid...or feel lost...you have a new family now who will forever love you... You can trust your own sister, right?" The scientist hugged the girl, happy that she was being more open now.

Skylar smiled and hugged her back. "So we're sister now, huh?" Skylar smirked. "Then I feel no regret doing this." Skylar put Mai in a playful headlock and gave her a noogie.
