It happened quickly. A screen appeared in everyone's vision. It had their name, stats, arbitrary RPG class, and sub class only they could see. A strange line at the corner of their screen Emergence in one week
After the expected freak out people realized they've become stronger. Every known illness was healed. The elderly were able to take care of themselves. It was a miracle. People would video themselves flying and casting spells.
Than it happened Emergence. Creatures started to appear. Some seemed based on fantasy and myth while others were completely random. Without proper training a quarter of the Earth's population died.
Now a year later humanity is living in small communities. Earth itself had turned into a fantasy like world. Some humans go out exploring making a living in bringing back treasures for their communities.
This is the story of one such group.
