A Heartfelt Search

I'm being really chick-flick-y, aren't I? Dean questioned himself, as he squeezed Cas' hand, but almost didn't bother to care. It had been so long that he had felt something like this...and it was happening all over again. This time with forever behind it.

Gabriel nodded, "'Course it is! You're usually so...stony and everything. And now you're not, what's up with that?" he asked playfully, not expecting too much of an answer.

Castiel smiled at Dean as he sat down again, pulling his legs up onto the couch, sitting with his legs tucked under him.

Sam rolled his eyes. He was not stony. If anyone was, it would be Dean.

Sitting beside his partner, Dean rested an arm on the upper edge of the couch, so it was behind Cas' back. All he needed was a drink and it'd be perfect.

"Okay, maybe you're not stony. But you're pretty closed up." Gabriel said quickly, making up for his previous words. Hopefully this sounded better.

Castiel rested his dark head in the crook of Dean's shoulder, closing his eyes and shifting close to the hunter.

"Well I apologize. Is that a problem for you?" Sam retorted.

Smiling softly, green orbs flickering with affection and softness, Dean leaned his head against Cas', listening to the steady breaths they both created.

Taking the remote from the coffee table in front of them, Dean turned on the TV and changed it to Dr. Sexy MD. Sam wasn't here to pester him about it...it seemed, so he could watch some of it.

'Course, it just wasn't the same...but he'd make due.

"Kinda, I mean...how am I gonna get to know you, Moose, if you won't let me?" Gabriel asked, arms open in a gesture of question.

"What?" Dean scoffed, little to no heat behind his voice.

Gabriel snorted at that, a pouting expression on his face as he finished his first drink. With that answer, he might as well put alcohol in Sam's drink...but that didn't seem right.

Rolling his eyes and laughing at bit, in the lightness of the moment, Dean kissed the dark, feathery hair of his lover before turning his eyes back to the TV. Something important was going to go down at Seattle Mercy Hospital, it seemed.

As much as he'd hate to admit it, the archangel thought Sam's laugh was infectious. And soon, he found himself laughing softly behind his drink. Damn moose.

Damn moose. Haha!

Castiel rested his head against Dean's shoulder, his dark hair brushing against his cheek. He didn't really pay any attention to Dean's mindless choice of television, and absentmindedly tried to contact Gabriel again(I don't remember how that works so just pretend I did what I was supposed to).

Sam smirked, crossing one leg over the other as he half sprawled in his chair.

(S'okay. :3)

Glancing at Castiel, who seemed to be thinking about something else, the hunter grunted, "What's the matter, Cas?"

"S'not fair you can do that, Sam. Your legs are like trees," the archangel remarked, still pouting a bit.

(Haha.)

Castiel glanced back. "Nothing." He said softly, looking at the hunter.

"Trees? What the Hell?" Sam looked down.

Unsurprised in the slightest by Cas' answer, Dean sighed, "Come on. Talk to me." He could pull the "nothing" or "I'm fine" card, but Cas couldn't. Not on his watch.

Waving his hand in the general direction of Sam's leg, Gabriel tried to explain himself, "Well...they're, like, really tall. And you're tan, so you know, like bark." All those spiked hot chocolates were starting to get to him...

"I'm just thinking about Sam. How Gabriel might have taken him." Castiel said with a soft sigh.

Sam looked at Gabriel, then lifted his mug. No alcohol smell. Was the archangel's spiked? He glanced at him.

Just the name of the archangel pissed him off, and Dean's jaw tightened. "I don't know, Cas. But he's gonna pay..." And that was a promise.

"Yeah, Sam. Mine's spiked," Gabriel answered, knowing Sam's suspicions. "What can I say? It's a white Russian with chocolate, and it's kinda warm still..."

"I know." Castiel whispered.

"Figured. I was seeing if mine was too." Sam said, then looked up. "It isn't, is it?"

"You probably don't wanna hear that about your brother, do you?" Dean murmured, knowing that as much as they seemed like opposites, Cas and Gabriel had known each other for millenniums.

The archangel shook his head, honey-colored hair flying in a few directions, "Nah. Just mine's got the good stuff in it."

Despite the mild severity of their situation, Dean let himself slip a smile along his lips, "And I think he probably does, then."

Raising his hands in up surrender, Gabriel exclaimed, "I'm not lying! Besides, you'd taste it anyways!"

"If we could reach him." Castiel sighed. Even the angel was getting frustrated, and it showed in his voice. He hated being useless.

"Dean could." Sam muttered, frowning. He knew his older brother would taste alcohol anywhere, but maybe not, considering how much of it he drank. Maybe he'd be used to it.

"I'm sure we will, Cas. There's gotta be some way to get to 'im. Be crazy if there wasn't..." the hunter said, voice lining with rough optimism. Dean knew how much it frustrated the angel that he felt useless. Hell, Dean could identify.

Frowning also at Sam's mutter, Gabriel shook his head and took a long drink of his cocoa. Getting this kid to warm up to him more was going to be a challenge...

"I hate to say, but he was always more interested in Sam than necessary. He'd ask about him when I was first assigned to watch over you. All the time." Castiel said, sighing at Dean. "I don't doubt he took Sam for personal purpose. What that is I don't know and don't want to." The angel looked at the Hunter, knowing he would get angry, but Castiel spoke truth.

"You should let me see Dean. He's probably killed a whole village looking for me." Sam looked at Gabriel. It wasn't just that his brother was worried sick. It was also because Sam needed to see him more than anything. They'd hardly been separated this long.
