I was going to draft up some lore explainations. According to the Elemental Religions, (which no one follows anymore), the Lightnig Lords died ages ago in a tragic event. The Fire Elementalists sacrificed themselves or revolted, records aren't clear, and the Water Elementalists were extinguished in the a Great War.
