A Fantasy Adventure
In the world of Earth-Gaia, there was a land called Terra. The land was covered from snowy tundras, forested wood, desert sands, and islands with different shades of blue seas. Animals and intelligent beings of all kinds lived in this land; Humans, Elves, Beastmen, Dwarves, and Trolls all lived in every part of this world. It was truly a picturesque paradise, where everyone lived in harmony. The Gods and Goddesses who had made this world, were pleased by what they had seen.
Alas, in beauty there is darkness, and so the touches of evil began to plague the world. Wars were fought, blood spilled, kingdoms rose and fell, wickedness reigned. Good and Bad people fought to rule the land, and each side had their own victories and losses. One king by the name of Lectris, took his sword and vowed to restore peace and order. With his soldiers, he waged war across the land, setting new villages and towns, rescuing those he found deserving and crushed those he thought were a plague to this world.
With his sword, he restored peace and order in the land, and with his sword he formed many nations to rule over this peaceful land. His own kingdom had become an empire which he believed would keep justice in the land, and he held that belief as he passed away from a strange illness.
Yet his belief had been wrong, for as his son Lectris Junior the Second, took upon the sword, and with greed and evil in his heart waged war against the kingdoms he believed were his.
The Gods and Goddesses were horrified, for they did not want the past to be repeated. The Goddess Adilicia took it on herself to restore peace and order rightfully. She formed a crystal with the purest magic of the Celestials and chose four brave heroes and heroines to fight the empire and its demonic soldiers. Once she had found them, she prepared to throw the crystals to the world and send it to the four chosen ones. But before she could, the Goddesses had come in and informed her of a great event that she had long awaited: Tequila Tuesdays.
Hours later, she returned, giddy and inebriated. With a happy little hic, she threw the shards with the best control she could muster. As expected, the shards crashed to the ground and broke into smaller pieces and flew to every part of the land except the areas where the chosen ones were.
With another little hic, Adilicia shrugged her shoulder, took another swing of the tasty alcohol and figured everything would work out. Her message in the shard should be enough for that person to get the idea.

So basically, this is a miscast story of a serious fantasy world. Instead of getting four strapping and fascinating chosen ones, we get odd jobs, wisecracks, quacks, people who have more interest in finding work, etc. While it will still have a serious feel, generally speaking this is more of a "what if" kind of roleplay where these kinds of characters exist and work together to achieve the common goal.
