Sinead Callahan

Sinead was happy when Lucy came over to join them, not liking seeing her sister look bored on such an evening. "Oh, please. Spare me the details. Politics, no doubt? Who on Earth would choose to be the Mayor. What a boring job!" she scoffed. When her sister sat next to her, Sinead gave her a hug. After all they'd been through, she never stopped appreciating that they were still so close and living practically together after so many years. Now, she was sat with her sister and husband, which was still far more than she felt she deserved for her past betrayals. Not that she would give it up for anything. Sinead frowned upon hearing the Mayor had ignored Lucy. "Hmm. What?! Do you need me to march over there and give him a piece of my mind? Mayor or not, I will tell him how treat a lady. Ugh... Unless he was just too scared to look at you because of how hot you are. Maybe he was scared of James knocking him out for staring," she reasoned.

Lucy then focused on Sinead's dress, causing the redhead to blush at the compliments. "Oh wow... You're all being too nice. You're going to make me cry," she said, quickly dabbing her tearful eyes with a napkin, hoping not to smudge her make-up. It meant a lot for her sister to say such nice things, especially when she'd grown up in awe of Lucy's beauty and strength. "Thank you, Luce... I think it would still look nice on you. After all, we'd get to see more of those sexy legs of yours!"

Sinead leaned to Peter and placed a kiss on his cheek, making sure he wasn't getting lost in the girly conversation. She then looked to Lucy with a devilish smile. "So, are you getting very drunk tonight?" she suggestively asked.

Lucy laughed at her sister as she got worked up over the Mayor not paying attention to her during the conversation, Lucy was touched that her little sister would go give that asshole a piece of her mind. "Oh yes I bet, though he seemed to only have eyes for James so maybe its I who needs to go over there and knock him out for staring. Can't have a man stealing away my husband now can I?" Sinead got tearful as Lucy complimented her outfit and she could never grow tired of the sweet and happy energy that Sinead brought to events like this. It was hard constantly having to wait for James to be available now, she missed when they could just sneak off from places like this without being noticed and go for a drive. Her eyes looked across the room and saw her husband still speaking with the Mayor, she stared a moment longer before turning back to Sinead as she asked if she would be getting drunk tonight.

She watched as Peter leaned in closer to Sinead and wrapped his arm around her shoulder before pecking her on the cheek sweetly. "Like at your birthday?" He added in and laughed, which caused Lucy to blush slightly. "Hey! I was allowed to have a good time at my own birthday party!" She protested in response which caused Peter to laugh again. "Hey I'm not judging you." He said which caused Lucy to glare at him a moment before turning towards Sinead and smiling softly. "I might have another drink or so, but I'm actually not feeling entirely like myself. Perhaps being a year older has caused a drastic change in my drinking habits. I use to be able to put down at least 6 more glasses before feeling this way. I've had 3 and I already feel like I could spend my night in the bathroom." The blonde brushed her hair behind her shoulder before catching the attention of another waiter, asking for a water. Once that was done she turned back to the couple in front of her with a smile.

"But don't let me stop you from getting drunk, I like drunk Sinead, she likes to take risks. Maybe us ladies could try are luck at something tonight, that wheel thing looks kinda cool eh?" She asked her sister, not really knowing how to play cards either. Peter smiled at Lucy and looked to Sinead as he spoke, "She had saw that as we came in and wanted to try it out. I think you ladies would have some fun with that."

The reaction Ali had gotten from Tommy made her smile even bigger. She was genuinely considering it, even if she had said it as a jab to Connor. However, he hadn't reacted the she wanted to or thought he would. She really didn't know what it was she was expecting, but him being so joyous about it wasn't it. "I'm sure he can keep up. Better than most." She was looking in the mirror, touching up the corners of lipstick when she said this, catching Connor's eye in the reflection.

Once they arrived, she stepped out with Tommy and happily took his hand. "What a gentleman." She told him as he complimented her. Hearing him mention cramping her style, she gave him a soft look. Did he really think she was out of his league? Grabbing his arm, she made him face her and placed both of her hands on his cheeks. "Listen, out of all seriousness for a second." Her voice was serious and even though she was smiling, so was she. "The only person I'm going to be paying attention to is you. Any other guy that notices me will know not to approach me whilst you're around." She locked her eyes with his and gave his lips a small reassuring peck. "Oh, and you'll never be able to cramp my style."

Linking her arm with his, the two walked inside the casino where she immediately spotted her brother. "That won't be necessary, love. I know how to behave in public." She gave his shoulder a pat before walking towards the Blackjack table and taking a seat next to Leo. "Well well, little brother. I see you found time to pull yourself away from all the book work James has you doing." She gave him a look, one Leo knew all too well.

He was in deep shit.

tumblr_ojhjlqwNJS1sjlc8ho1_400.png

Leo was quite enjoying himself at the Blackjack table. While he wasn't exactly counting cards, he was accurately predicting the next cards that were coming. Of course to throw it off a bit, he would stop at a number too high or too low, but nonetheless he was winning big. A sly smirk went across his feature when people would pat his shoulder and tell him good luck. 'Nothing to do with luck.' He thought to himself. When he glanced up for a second, he had to do a double take. He knew that he was going to see his sister, but he didn't think he would so early.

As she approached the table, he smiled at her. "Well look who's out of their hole. What's up?" When Ali addressed him, he got tense. How did she know about the book work he was doing for James? Like a fish out of water his mouth gaped and he made a pfft noise. "Wh-What book work are you talking about? For James? That would make me affiliated which is exactly what you asked me not to do." He shook his head and let out a nervous chuckle. "Man, you're crazy."

Ali shrugged her shoulders and put her hands on his hips. "So that means Tommy here is lying, huh?" Leo immediately looked to Tommy giving him one of those 'Dude' looks when your friend rats you out. "Listen Al-" But before he could even explain, her smile darkened and she whispered in his ear. "We'll discuss this later; but think I'll leave it." She gave him a small kiss on his forehead before grabbing Tommy's hand. "Fuck...." He whispered to himself, rubbing his hand over his face.

rsz_1b4fadf2224bf798e86f07c3fbeca2b8d.jpgHolding her close to him, he matched her calm rhythm and swayed back and forth. A small smile curled on his lips as she began reciting lyrics from the song to answer his question. The softening of her features had it's own effects on Jackson, melting the steel around his protected heart. His gentle gaze traced from her eyes down to her lips. "That's good enough for me," He softly said, leaning into her. As his lips pressed against hers, all of his senses slowly faded away. With his eyes closed, it was as if they were the only ones in the room.

Very few kisses could take Jackson's breath away, but here he was, metaphorically gasping for air. He tightened his grip around her waist and lifted her onto her toes. Perhaps he had forgotten where they were, or more plausibly, he couldn't care less. Slowly breaking away from their embrace, he cleared his throat and looked up to the crowd around them. "Why does there have to be so many bloody people here?" He laughed, looking back down to her.

As the song continued, he rested his hands upon her lower back once more. "Here's what I think we should do, feel free to disagree. I say we swipe a bottle from behind the bar, grab that bloody record player, and escape to one of the empty wings of the place." He chuckled lightly, although completely serious. His fingers slowly traced the side of her face, catching a couple of rouge strands and tucking them back behind her ear. "What'd ya' say, doll?" He locked his eyes with hers once more, his smile reappearing.

Blake Walsh
Blake hadn't realized how much she was dying for his lips to press against her own again, but when they did, she felt relieved and content. She melted into his arms slightly, leaning into him and holding him closer to her as the music faded into the background and the casino seemed to fall silent. She felt like she was high after they gradually broke away from it and she stared at Jackson long after the kiss in sort of a daze. She chuckled along with him as he complained about the amount of people around them, but she was happy for the crowd. Her self control was proving to be useless and she wasn't sure how much of it she would have if completely alone with him.
200w.gif

She leaned back to look into his eyes as he suggested a plan, her heart thumped hard in her chest at the thought of being all alone with him. She swallowed hard for a moment and stayed silent, debating if her will power was strong enough for such a situation. This would only end up hurting her in the end, and most importantly...Jackson. Blake had been denying it, but she was beginning to feel for the man, more than she wanted to believe. She wanted to spend every second of every day with him. Blake knew that soon, she may have no choice but to desert him, if things went south. Her eyes scanned the crowd around them, looking for Kieran. She couldn't have him ratting her out, and the look he gave her was all too clear.

She didn't want Jackson getting mixed up in the business that Jared was about to throw the Porters way, but she couldn't protect him without risking her job and quite possibly her life. Blake realized she had been thinking and silent for far too long. Looking up at Jackson again, she smiled softly. "I'm sorry, its a little hot in here," She murmured as she fanned herself with her free hand, "That sounds like a lovely idea, let's go!" She said quickly before taking his hand and pulling him towards the bar. "I'm assuming since you suggested it you are swiping it?" She said, a teasing tone in her voice as the moved through the crowd.

Tommy grinned when Aliana told him he was a gentleman. When both of his parents were alive and his father was a top surgeon, Tommy had manners and etiquette drilled into him. Being a gentleman was merely what came naturally to him from his younger days. He gave her his full attention when she wanted to talk serious with him. She assured him that he was the only guy that mattered to her in the casino. The quick kiss she placed on his lips completed that reassurance. "Well, I'm glad to hear it. I sincerely doubt anyone in this place tonight will look as stunning as you do."

Tommy nodded as she said no ambulance would be needed for Leo. He walked to the Blackjack table with her but remained silent as she confronted her brother. He cringed a little when his name was brought into it, still feeling bad for accidentally letting slip about the whole thing. He caught Leo's look, so mouthed 'I'm sorry' and then 'accident' to him. Soon enough, Aliana whispered something to Leo before grabbing Tommy's hand and leading him away from the table.

"Damn, I feel bad," he admitted to Aliana. He then motioned somewhere towards the bar. "What's say we get a couple of drinks and then try our luck for a bit?" he suggested. "Unless you want to sit with the others for a while?" he asked, knowing she was close friends with Sinead.

Carter's snakelike eyes scanned across the dance floor. He watched Blake like a hawk and tried to find the motive behind her every action. Something about this didn't sit right with. After adjusting the cufflinks on his waiter uniform, he moved into the crowd. At first, his approach was aggressive; shoving anyone who was in his way. As he got closer, however, it turned more into a polite tap. "Blake, there you are!" He announced with a wide smile. "Hope i'm not interrupting anything." He looked to Jackson as he rested his hand on Blake's shoulder. "No need to worry, I'm only her cousin. Mind if I borrow her for a second, mate?" He nodded to the man with a smile, before escorting Blake to the outside of the crowd.

As they distanced themselves, his face grew far more serious. "The hell are you doing? You're drawing way too much attention," he barked at her, his facial expressions hardening. "You're supposed to stay quiet and keep to yourself. Unless the Porter's secrets are in that bloke's trousers, you're way out of line." He shook his head and looked off to Jackson. "Bloody hell," he muttered, stepping in closer to her. "Do not get connected to these people and, for fuck sakes, don't forget your job."

rsz_1b4fadf2224bf798e86f07c3fbeca2b8d.jpgJackson laughed along as Blake teased, looking down to the bar. "Oh, childs play," he said with a malicious smirk. Before they could break off from the crowd, however, they were intercepted by a waiter. The man cleared up that he was Blake's cousin and wanted a moment to speak with her. After confirming this with Blake, using a quick look, he turned back to the man. "Yeah, of course." His eyes traced back to Blake, offering her a flirtatious smile. "I'll be at the bar, doll." As the pair walked away, he turned around as well and strolled off in the opposite direction.

As he casually made his way down to the bar, he spotted the best looking guy in the casino. "Oi, what is this?" He called out, walking down to the roulette table. As Jackson got closer, he greeted Conor with a grizzly hug. "Surely you're not playing all by yourself, you daft." He chuckled, throwing his arm over his friend's shoulder. "Let's grab some beers and catch up. You're main squeeze has been occupying all your time."

While they walked around the Casino with their drinks, Jackson pointed out the Craps table in the center. "Oh, that game is a big payout if you get lucky." They walked off towards the table, making their way through the large crowd that had formed around it. Two men had just finished their round, partially satisfied with their final results. The crowd clapped for the pair as they moved away from the table. "Alright, alright," Jackson settled the crowd as they reached the front of the table. "The pros are here." With that, the operator slid them the dice and wished them the best of luck.

"That's it. You go over there and give him what for. Just because he's the Mayor, doesn't mean he can steal our husbands. He'd better not even glance at my Petey," she joked, nudging her husband in the process. She then snuggled in closer to him as he leaned in to her and kissed her cheek. She laughed when Peter pointed out how drunk Lucy was at her birthday party. Though, she couldn't really say anything as she wasn't any better herself. The following hangover had been rough but it clearly hadn't put her off from drinking again. "Your party was lovely, Luce," she reassured her. Minus the part where she herself got upset about Peter working for James again, but she didn't want to think about that anymore.

Sinead frowned when Lucy said she already didn't feel so good after a few drinks. "Oh, Luce. Despite what the likes of Conor might say, you should never drink until you're sick. If you don't feel good, then you should stop. We can't have you in the bathroom all night instead of having fun out here I'll drink a few on your behalf!" she suggested. She then turned to Peter. "You hear that, Petey? Soon we'll be Luce's age and unable to handle our drink. Best get it in while we can!" she teased her sister.

"Drunk Sinead is a handful, or so I'm told," she said, glancing to Peter. "Once I've had a couple more drinks I will gladly join you at the spinning number wheel. I don't think I could do that right now; the guys down there look pretty serious, like they know what they're doing. At least if I'm a little drunk I won't care what they think!" She looked to Peter and kissed his cheek as he backed up the idea of them playing Roulette. "Yayyy!"

"Don't be." She told him, hearing that he felt bad about informing her of Leo. "If there's one thing you'll learn about me it's that I value honesty. When you go behind my back to do something like Leo it makes me feel..." She paused, searching for the word she needed to complete her thoughts. "Betrayed." Reaching to bar, she ordered a glass of champagne, starting the night off light. "My trust is a very valuable thing and once it's gone? Well, you'd have to be very lucky if you ever got it back." She took a sip from her glass before taking a look around. She did notice Sinead and tilted her head back and forth for a moment.

"Well... I did sort of lock myself up for a while. Talking to Sinny would perhaps be the thing to do." She looked at him and smiled. "On the other hand though, I'd much rather spend time with you, of course. After all, we're on a date." Ali teased, a thought crossing her mind. Did she really like Tommy? She had been flirting with him every chance she got and it wasn't any normal flirting either. It was different from the flirting she did with other men she didn't particularly care for. This girl had a lot of thinking to do later.

Blake had been excited to escape the crowd with Jackson, until a familiar face appeared from the corner of her eye, causing her to stop dead in her tracks. She fought the urge to step in front of Jackson as Carter smiled widely at her, to her, it was unnatural; he grinned at her like a hyena closing in on its prey. She wanted to cringe as Carter placed a hand on her shoulder and asked to borrow her for a moment. There was a moment of dead silence between them all as Blake slowly turned her head to look at Jackson, she offered a brief close lipped smile before nodding her head slightly. "I'll meet you over there." She murmured to Jackson and turned away with Carter, losing themselves in the crowd before heading for the outside of it. Off to the side, Carter was now the prick she knew and hated.

Her soft elegant smile faded into a deep frown as he began to bark at her for what he was seeing. Blake didn't make eye contact with him until he told her to not forget her job. Snapping her head up, she straightened out so that her eyes were leveled with his. She clenched her jaw at him, "I won't." She said, her voice rough and lower. Blake stared at him a moment longer before her eyes looked to Jackson, who was now catching up with Conor and enjoying himself. "What the hell does it matter to you Carter, as long as I get the fucking job done, it doesn't matter how I do it." Blake smirked and looked back to Carter, "Or who I do it with." As a waiter passed by, she took a champagne flute from the tray and took a sip quickly, "Besides, he came to me, with the whole hero facade, trying desperately to swoon the damsel in distress. I can't help it if the lad wants a piece of me. Everyone does you know." The blonde swept her hair to the side, hitting Carter's shoulder lightly before taking another drink of her champagne. "Jared have you on baby sitting duty? What a step down. And Jackson is nothing more than my toy for now, keep your enemies closer Carter, even if that means right underneath you in bed."

Lucy swatted her sister playfully as Sinead teased her about her age. Rolling her eyes, she stuck her tongue out at her sister before taking a sip of her water that had arrived moments before. "Oh hush, pretty soon you will be my age and then who will be the one laughing. And hey, it doesn't go for everyone. James can still drink at least 10 gallons of alcohol a day. Not to mention all those damned cigarettes he smokes." Lucy ruffled out her blonde hair lightly and tried to hide the guilt from her face, knowing she was also guilty of smoking often. Though lately, cigarettes had also started to lose their appeal. Peter chuckled, "Hey the man works hard, let him have as much alcohol and as many cigarettes as he wishes, but I will never smoke." He said to which Lucy gave him an odd look, it had been the other night that she was outside, smoking away when he wanted to bum one off of her. She said nothing to that though as she took another sip of her water. Sinead informed her that she had been told that drunk Sinead was a handful, to which Peter mumbled, "You can say that again." Causing Lucy to laugh loudly.

She nodded her head along with Sinead at her answer to going to play Roulette and smiled widely, "Sounds like a game plan to me! I like when you get all bold and fiesty, you give all the men a run for their money!" Lucy encouraged her sister to which Peter was already shaking his head, "Hey hey hey, don't encourage her to pick fights, because she picks up but then I'm the guy that has to finish em." He looked to Sinead after he said that and gave her a nervous smile, "Which of course, I love helping out my baby but...lets not go cruising for a bruising tonight." He rubbed shoulder lightly before looking around the club, surveying the area once more for his own sake, wanting to make sure that all was well tonight. Satisfied, he turned back towards the ladies and smiled.

khkh.gif"Fucking shitter..." Conor mumbled as the ball had landed on the number right next to his own. He knew gambling pissed him off, but he still felt like giving it a go on the off-chance his luck would be in tonight. Before he had time to decide whether or not to stay at the table, he heard a familiar voice call out to him. This was followed by a hug from Jackson. "Hey, darling," he happily greeted him, followed by a wink. He didn't really give a damn what anyone else around the table might think about their greetings towards each other. "Ah, I let Alex go off to get herself a fancy drink and find the girls. Besides, it's not like I'm not used to playing by myself..." he remarked. He let Jackson lead way for some beers. "You're one to talk. Don't think I haven't noticed you trying to get with Blake."

Once he'd got a beer in his hand, Conor walked with Jackson towards the Craps table. "I think this casino hates me, but I'll try my luck again. Maybe you'll be my lucky charm!" The two men soon stepped into some freshly emptied spots at the Craps table and Conor chuckled at his friend's words about them being pros. "Yeah, we'll see about that," he spoke under his breath. "I'm not completely sure what I'm doing with this one. I thought we were playing something else..." he whispered into Jackson's ear before the game got started.

Tommy nodded along as Aliana made it clear how she felt about being lied to and betrayed. "Not that I intended to anyway, but I'll be sure not to be dishonest with you, Ali," he assured her. He shrugged his shoulders as he thought about her brother. "Maybe Leo didn't mean to betray you. Perhaps he just wanted to help James out but was too afraid to say anything in case you told him no. I know it doesn't make that much difference, but maybe it's just what he wants to do?" he carefully suggested. "I mean... How do you feel about him being with Delilah now?"

He smiled when she mentioned talking to Sinead. "Well, from my observations, she's the kind of person you'd want to talk to if you need cheering up and bringing out of your troubled thoughts." Regardless of that comment, he was actually more pleased when Aliana said she'd rather spend her time with him tonight. "Ahh, so it's officially a date? When the guys tease me, I'm allowed to tell them this was a legitimate date, yes?" he joked. "Nah, I don't care what they think. I just need to work enough magic to get a second date." He turned to Aliana and outstretched his arm to take her hand. "Now, what would you like to do first, Ali? Gambling, dancing or just plain old drinking?"

Jared couldn't help, but smile as Blake snapped back at him. Slowly stepping closer to her, his demeanor appeared more relaxed. "Don't forget who you're talking to." His sinister smile grew wider, keeping his hands behind his back. "Do you're fucking job so I don't have to babysit you." His eyes traced to the Porter table. "I'm not just here for you either." His gaze suddenly snapped back to Blake. "Perhaps your boy toy would care for a drink as well." He ran his tongue across his teeth in an antagonizing manner, sure she knew what he meant. "Now, if you'll excuse me, /i've/ got a job to do." Before stepping away, he rested his hand on her champagne glass and lowered it. "Oh, and i'd go easy on the drinks tonight. Could be detrimental to your health." He sent a malicious wink her way before walking off to the bar.

After sliding behind the counter, he moved for the platter under the bar. On it were pristine glasses, holding crimson colored wine. After passing by the other waiters casually, he picked up his pace towards the Porter table. "Drinks for the evening," He said in a polite manner as he rested the platter on the Porter table. After standing back up right, he held his hands behind his back once more. "Compliments of your staff, Mr. Porter. Tonight we have Pinot Noir, imported from Burgundy, France." He distributed his eye contact evenly between the Mayor and James. "If I may suggest, it would go great with a heavy meat, like a juicy steak." He said with a bright smile, holding zing in his words.

Just get ready to grab the chips and run if we lose." Of course, if they were to do this, they'd only be stealing James' money. He laughed heartily, before patting Conor on the back. "Right, let's do this." Sweeping his hands across the padded table, he picked up the die into his fist. He blew onto the dice religiously, before offering Conor his fist. "Blow on 'em. We need all the luck we can get."

After shaking his hand a few times for good measure, he cocked his arm back. The crowd watched eagerly as he threw the dice onto the table. The dice seemed to bounce in slow motion, Jackson anticipating every bounce. On their final roll, the dice landed on two and one. The crowd roared with cheer immediately. Jackson shot his arms up, turning to Conor. "Here, here!" He shouted as the crowd patted him and Conor on the back.

The dealer slid his wooden stick across the table, collecting the dice once more. "I know I said it's luck, but I swear it's also all in the wrist." Jackson allowed Conor to pick up the dice. Resting his hand on his friends shoulders, he nervously squeezed. Another odd roll would secure their chances of winning big bucks. "You got this, mate. You got this." He stepped aside, giving Conor enough room to chuck the dice.

Sinead Callahan and James Porter

1526763817210-png.442014
Sinead swallowed the last of her drink as Lucy explained about James being able to handle a lot of alcohol still. "Yeah, but James doesn't count. He's some sort of machine and he can drink anything without it affecting him!" She smiled as Peter said he would never smoke. "Good choice, Petey. The smoke from those things hurts my eyes, especially in these places where everyone's at it." She couldn't help but dramatically scoff when Peter backed up the idea that Sinead was a handful when drunk. "Pshhh. You love it, really!"

She giggled when Lucy mentioned she could give the men a run for their money. "Ahh, but I like to watch you finish them for me," she playfully told Peter. "I'll be on my best behaviour, baby," she said, placing a kiss on Peter's lips. She noticed the waiter serving drinks to James and the Mayor so pulled away from her husband. "I just need another drink or two before I feel confident enough to get my butt down there and place some bets!" she said, pretending she had a clue what she had to do once there.

"Ugh!" Sinead grumbled as she watched the waiter leave in the opposite direction. "How rude. I wanted another drink," she complained. "I'll go get one myself." She softly asked Lucy to scoot aside so she could get up from her seat and go get herself a drink.

1526764457109-png.442018
James stopped speaking mid-sentence when the waiter arrived at the table, offering drinks to him and the Mayor. Anderson accepted and thanked Carter for the wine, prompting James to politely smile and nod his head. He didn't like wine, but he out of politeness he took the glass and set it down on the table in front of him. "Thank you. Much appreciated. Send my regards to the staff," he told the waiter, with a courteous smile. Once Carter had walked away, James cleared his throat and very subtly slid the glass a few inches to the side, out of his way. Frankly, he'd rather drink toilet water than the drink he'd been given.

Luckily, he was saved from having to waste the wine when Sinead approached the table. She glanced to the Mayor, sending him a smile that hid her annoyance at the way he'd treated Lucy earlier. She then look to James and sweetly smiled. "You're not going to drink that, are you?" she asked, knowing James hated wine. "The waiter never came to my table and I'm all out of drink. I could take this one off of your hands?" she suggested.

"Be my guest, love," James told Sinead, knowing it would have only ended up poured down the sink anyway.

"Ha. Thank you, James. You're the best!" she said, before taking the glass and turning away to return to the others. She didn't immediately start walking, instead taking a sip of the wine.

Mayor Lyndon Anderson

The mayor was cut off as the waiter approached their table. "Ah, thank you," The mayor kindly responded, before returning his attention back to James. "I'm not telling you to turn a blind eye." The mayor reached out for the wine glass, taking a hefty sip of the sweet liquid. "I'm asking you to react appropriately. Pardon my french, but I don't need a dick-measuring contest going on in my city. Don't flex your muscles at these radicals." He attempted to clear his throat, although found the inability to. Figuring that it was just a case of dryness, he downed the rest of the wine. "Just, please - all I'm asking you to do is control yourse-" He let out a loud, uncontrollable cough. He politely held a finger up to James as he attempted to clear his throat. He soon found that he could no longer swallow his own saliva, causing him to gag loudly. His servicemen quickly looked over to him, crouching down to his level. As he attempted to hold up his hand to reassure them that he was okay, he went into a coughing frenzy.

His vicious sputter was the final straw, his bleeding lungs dusting the table. Attempting to hold himself up on the corner, his weak legs managed to prop him up onto his feet. His servicemen quickly caught his arms, before his legs gave out. Their first thought was that he was choking on a piece of the thick steak. One of his men came around his back, performing the Heimlich maneuver on the Mayor. Instead of a chuck of food launching from his esophagus, a stream of blood shot out of his mouth.

The vomit of blood and mucus caught everyone off guard. The once lively casino, was soon filled with screams of terror. Everyone from the tables quickly rushed to the scene to see what was going on. Before the servicemen could try anything else, the mayor seized up and went limp. Resting him on the floor, they attempted CPR. It was no use. The mayor's body went pale and his eyes rolled into his head. As one of his men looked up to the table, they saw a dense cloud of steam rising up from the empty wine glass.

Sinead Callahan and James Porter

tumblr_inline_mpc8mzqgCN1qz4rgp.gifJames watched with concern as the Mayor seemed unable to hold back his coughing. At first he thought nothing of it, but then when he seemed to be seriously struggling, he couldn't help but worry. The servicemen were soon helping Anderson and administering the Heimlich manoeuvre. Blood poured out of the man's mouth and James didn't think choking on a bit of steak could have caused that. James glanced to the man's wine glass, which was mostly empty and then he shot his head around to where Sinead was bent down.

Sinead set the glass down on the nearest surface she could find and crouched down to deal with the strap of her right shoe, which had loosened over the course of the evening. "Stupid thing..." she grumbled as she struggled with the buckle whilst she tried not to chip her polished nails. She then stood up straight and smoothed out her dress. The wine she'd just swallowed a sip of was nice, so she was ready for another taste. She retrieved the glass and brought it to her mouth, sipping more from it. She was taken by surprise when James suddenly shot to her side and pulled her arm, dragging her hand and the glass away from her mouth. He was easily able to snatch the glass out of her hand and toss it aside onto the floor, smashing into pieces a short distance away. "James. What the hell?!" she asked, coughing as she hadn't managed to swallow her second sip before his rude interruption. Some of the wine was spat out in front of her whilst some still hit the back of her mouth.

"Spit it out, Sinead!" James loudly ordered her. He placed a firm hand on the back of her neck and made her look towards the ground. Sinead coughed and spat out what was left in her mouth, feeling quite startled and embarrassed by the whole thing. "Pete! Lucy!" he beckoned the two over. He glanced over to the Mayor, who had had more of the wine than Sinead and was clearly already dead by now. "The wine was poisoned. I need Sinead to try and be sick," he told them. It wasn't sure how much good it would do, seeing how quickly a larger quantity had affected the Mayor.

"What?" Sinead worriedly asked. Her automatic reaction seemed to be to cough up whatever wine was left at the back of her mouth. She wasn't sure if it was the shock or the apparent poison, but the coughing made her chest feel tight and she struggled to take deep breaths. Her eyes watered as the panic set it. It felt like she was having another anxiety attack, but worse...

Lucy scooted out of Sinead's way as she went to get another drink and Peter and herself carried on a conversation while she did so. Lucy had just finished off her water when shouting was heard from everywhere. Lucy and Peter both stood up quickly and their eyes looked to James as he explained that the wine Sinead had was poisoned. Peter practically leaped from the reserved area and rushed towards his wife, Lucy following quickly behind. "Sin! throw up now!" Peter demanded, his voice shaking as he looked to his wife, finally closing the space between them and holding her tightly in his grasp. "Look at me, you have to purge right now!" The urgency in his voice should have been enough to scare her, and he saw the look in her eyes. The panic and the fear. Normally, Peter protected Sinead from her episodes of anxiety, but now was the time for it to be encouraged, as she usually felt sick during her episodes.

"Look at me Sinead! You can't fucking leave us okay, you see the Mayor over there! We have three beautiful children waiting for us--" Peter's voice cracked as he paused. There was no more time for talking. "Come here." He murmured to her and quickly helped her towards the ground. People were already giving them room, as most seemed to clear the building with the Mayor's gruesome death. "JAMES! LUCY! HELP ME!" He barked orders at the Porter's before sitting on the ground and letting Sinead lay her back against his chest. He wrapped his arms firmly around her, knowing she wasn't going to like what they would have to do next.

"Lucy! Hold her down and purge her, James grab her legs!" Peter knew that Sinead would fight a little, not because she wanted to die but just out of fear. He held her tightly as Lucy moved to straddle her quickly, placing her weight on Sinead so she couldn't get free. The blonde was in tears as she quickly forced her hand towards Sinead's mouth. "Don't you fucking bite me! I'm saving your life Sin!" She warned her sister before forcing her mouth open and shoving her hand down her throat quickly. Lucy cringed outwardly, quickly doing what she needed to before pulling her hand away, hoping she had saved her sister and that she would purge.

Sinead's eyes were filled with tears, which was causing her vision to blur. She could hear Peter telling her to be sick. She tried to focus and control her breathing like she was told, but she was struggling and it was hard to focus to make herself sick. She heard Peter speaking about not leaving them like the Mayor and then he mentioned their children. She wanted to be sick and the thought of dying made that more desperate. She felt sick but all she managed to do was an ineffectual wretch.

Sinead felt Peter as he pulled her towards the floor and let her lay back against him. The tears continued to stream down her cheeks as she heard the orders being shouted around her. James had rushed to hold Sinead's legs down and Lucy straddled her, holding her down. Sinead attempted to struggle as she continued to panic, but James had a strong hold of her legs, so much that she could barely move them. She relented and tensed up instead, then trying to calm herself down so she could cooperate. The next thing she knew, Lucy had stuck her fingers in a throat and no sooner did the blonde remove her hand did Sinead suddenly throw up. Most of the blood-specked vomit was sent running down the green dress everyone had been complimenting that evening. Once she had been sick the first time, she felt herself needing to throw up again. Her entire body was trembling and she was sick yet again. Everything around her was spinning and she was terrified about what was going to happen to her...

Meanwhile, Detective Donnelly rushed up to the private booths, having called for an ambulance the second he realised what was happening. Seeing the Porters were taking care of Sinead for the time-being, he rushed to the Mayor's side, knowing he'd be the one to write up the report on this whole mess. At least this time he'd been on the scene at the time.

Blake had frozen in her place as Carter explained his reasoning for being at the casino tonight. Blake watched the man walk away towards the bar until she lost him in the crowd. Her fists clenched as she fought the urge to chase him down, knowing that he was only here to bring destruction. Wasn't that why she was here as well? Carter had been right to assume that she was losing sight of her job...she was. Blake's eyes stared nowhere for a while until a sudden commotion caused her to break from her trance. Lifting up the long skirt of her dress, Blake quickly made her way over to where the Porters were. She gasped upon seeing Sinead looking ill and people rushing to take care of her, then her eyes found the Mayor dead in his own blood. Blake placed a hand around her mouth quickly and her eyes watered.

Sinead was a sweet girl, it was hard to see her in such a state. Blake could only see white as she moved back towards where she had seen Carter go. Shoving past startled guests as they scrambled out the door. Her eyes searched around as she got closer and closer to the back of the casino. A red and bright exit sign glowed in the dimly lit hallway and she could barely make out a tall figure slipping though the door. Blake picked up the pace as her heels clicked against the tile, she grasped the metal door firmly before pushing it open and sliding through, letting it close shut behind her. She didn't say anything as she stepped into the alleyway, expecting Carter to speak first. The tears in Blake's eyes were more than evident and she was upset with what happened inside, sucking in deep breaths, she tried to look like she could care less...but then why the fuck did she follow him?

Lucy held her breath as Sinead finally purged. She felt nauseous as her sister continued to throw up all over her beautiful green dress. She looked dizzy and Lucy reached forward to hold her, regardless of the throw up that now coated them both. Peter was holding her just as tightly and from where she sat Lucy could see that his eyes were thick with tears and they were beginning to pool down his cheeks. After a long moment, Lucy released her sister lightly and carefully stood up off of her. The medical team would be arriving any moment, and Lucy didn't want to be in the way of that. Her eyes looked to the Mayor who was dead before she looked over to James...not even able to be relieved as someone she loved still got hurt. She stood in shock, her stomach turned and formed knots as she tried to process what was happening. She squeezed her eyes shut as the tears burned the back of her eyes.

"Sinny baby, talk to me. Look at me honey." Peter begged his wife as she continued to look weaker and weaker regardless of having purged herself. He held her tightly until Lucy got up. Once James and Lucy released his wife. Peter gently moved her to cradle her in his arms. He rocked her back and forth lightly as the tears poured down his face. "Its gonna be alright, you are gonna be fine okay? They are gonna take care of you." Peter's voice shook as he stroked Sinead's hair and kissed it delicately. "Don't go anywhere Sinny, please. I can't lose you. We can't lose you." Peter looks around, his eyes pleading anyone to help them, praying that the ambulance would arrive quickly.

Conor laughed when Jackson suggested grabbing the chips and running. "Oh, don't tempt me. Would love to wind James up..." he joked. As Jackson got into the game and asked him to blow his fist for luck, Conor happily obliged. It seemed luck was on their side as the roll proved to be a good one. He grinned as his friend patted him on the back. "Ah, well isn't that something..." he said, trying to get enthusiastic about the game.

It was Conor's turn to pick up the dice and so he did. He shook them in his hand as Jackson encouraged him. Before he could roll them, the commotion from the other end of the casino was heard. He recognised the voices belonging to his family members and suddenly gave zero shits about the game. He threw the dice down on the table and rushed over the to scene, pushing through the crowd, presumably with Jackson close by.

He first saw the Mayor's dead body before looking to see Sinead with Peter, Lucy and James all holding her as she vomited. He covered his mouth at the sight of his baby sister in such a bad way, especially considering the Mayor himself was dead from presumably the same poison he'd overheard members of the crowd mentioning. "Who the fuck did this?!" he asked, the anger clearly breaking into his voice. He was frustrated that he couldn't hug his sister and make her feel better. She was one of the few who could keep him calm, so when Sinead was hurt he couldn't contain much of his fury. He glanced to Jackson before looking back down to his petite sister, who was looking very fragile right now. "I'll break their fucking neck. Who did it?" he asked, as though expecting someone would just point the bastard out.

Carter hadn't stopped walking, especially once the mayor and the woman collapsed on the floor. Preferably, he would've wanted Mr. Porter to experience the painful death instead, but he had no time to correct the circumstantial errors. He had a feeling things wouldn't go exactly according to plan. Carter had even suggested planting pipe bombs and blowing the place to hell, but Jared was stuck on leaving no evidence behind. Which was fair. If there were two things the cyanide and strychnine poison did well, it was being extremely lethal and absolutely untraceable. As the crowd rushed past him, Carter walked in the opposite direction towards the bar. Throwing the platter aside, he made his way to the exit door and into the dark alley.

He ripped the waiter bowtie off of his neck and tossed it into the nearest dumpster as it walked. He hated wearing this monkey suit, shocked at the nerve the Porters had to embarrass their employees to this extent. Before he could trek any further, he heard the door open and close behind him. Turning around, he wasn't surprised to see Blake standing in the middle of the alley. He clasped his hands together, before walking closer towards her. "What're those? Tears?" He chuckled, slowly shaking his head. "It never ceases to amaze me how fuckin' pathetic you are." He walked closer, his footsteps echoing throughout the alley. "You've been with this family for what, three weeks? Look at yourself, mate." He laughed harder, motioning to the tears streaking down her face. "You're a fuckin' embarrassment, that's what you are. I knew you couldn't handle this job. I tried to explain to the boss how completely useless you are." He gave a shrug, exaggerating his shoulders. "We haven't even asked you to kill anyone yet and here you are, crying like a littl' bitch." He shook his head once more, scoffing. "You're fuckin' unbelievable."

Blake stood rigid as Carter decided to pick on her for the tears she cried. Her compassion was being made fun of, for being a human being. Every word stabbed her like a ruse knife as he didn't hold back. The blonde hissed lowly, her hand itching to hit him and before she could keep herself from doing so, he hand flew towards his face and her flat palm met his cheek with a satisfying SMACK! Blake's jaw clenched, holding in any reaction she would have had to the impact of her hand hitting his hard cheek. It hurt horribly, but she wasn't going to give Carter the satisfaction. "Don't you ever question my ability you fucking insect!" Blake growled at him, taking a step back quickly, ready for him to retaliate. Her hand throbbed and any tears she had were now beginning to dry. "What's pathetic is while I am out here risking my fucking tits for the cause, you are nice and cozy at home sucking on the bosses nuts!" She spat back at him with her fiery temper, her fists now clenched, she shoved him back away from her roughly.

"I cry because I have compassion and actually know what that is. Not all of us can be some fucked in the head sociopath who can't feel a fucking thing Carter." The venom the spewed from her was raw. Carter had pushed her buttons in the past, always teasing her, pressuring her. Making her feel like she was the weakest link. "That woman didn't need to be poisoned in there and anyone with a fucking brain would have realized that James Porter doesn't drink wine!" She spoke this as if it should have been obvious. "But fuck, maybe I'm not doing my job...or maybe you aren't listening to me."

Despite that fact that it should've been expected, the slap to the face completely caught Carter off-guard. While the force didn't push him back, he momentarily held his face in shock. He moved his thumb to his numb lips and lightly dabbed it, finding small traces of blood. He slowly stood back up to her full height as she continued to berate him and his intelligence. His features twisted to melted anger, assisted by his cocked back hand. Like the launch of his spring, the retaliation of his backhand had just as much, if not more, force as her hit. Before she could recover, he shot his hand out to her face and grabbed his chin. Pushing his fingers into her cheeks to disable her abilities to speak, he shoved her up against the brick wall. His intimidation was assisted by the five inch switchblade, which uncomfortably poked her neck. "I outta' cut your fuckin' tongue out for speaking to me that way, you dumb broad." He spat with every hateful word he spewed.

"I don't give a fuck who dies in that entitled, worthless family. If it were up to me, i'd break into their house in the middle of the night with an axe and finish them all off myself. Porter, his wife, his little kids, even his fuckin' pets. They don't deserve the air they breathe. The only good Porter is a dead one. Your so shallow that you can't even see past your rose-tinted glasses to see who they really are." There was no denying how badly he wanted to kill her, evident by his jittery hand.

"If Armstrong wasn't so bloody invested in you, i'd gut you like fish and hang you on their kids swing set." Gripping her cheeks harder, he used the force to throw her off the wall and to the ground. "But that isn't the case." He used his switchblade like the extension of his hand, pointing down to her. "Now, you get the fuck inside and do you whore job. If we ask you to get information, you do it! If we ask you to stop humping Porters, you do it! And if we ask you to blow one of their tiny, little brains out, you /fucking/ do it!" He spat on here once more, before shoving the blade back into his pocket.

Kieran Joyce
kieran alternate2.pngThe conversation between the two men was cut short by screams of terror emanating from the restaurant. Confused and sickened with worry, he and Rudolph weaved through the crowd towards the table. Before they got there, Kieran stopped a woman and asked her what had happened, eliciting the explanation that the Mayor had been poisoned. Kieran looked towards Rudy in shock, "Tell James I'll be taking up my things from the St. Germaine tonight and moving across town. It's getting dangerous."

"Kieran, boyo, where are you going?" Rudy asked, a look of genuine concern on the older man's face. Kieran smiled in reply, "The hunt is afoot."

Kieran fought the crowd that was moving into the restaurant to make it out. He was forced to detour through the kitchen, passing by several of the bewildered staff who were too occupied to tell him off. He slid out a side door and his blanketed steps muffled by the sounds of distant human terror were all that he heard as he exited the service entrance and began walking downtown. He walked only a few yards before a familiar voice caught his attention:

"What's pathetic is while I am out here risking my fucking tits for the cause, you are nice and cozy at home sucking on the bosses nuts!"

Followed by a menacing but unintelligible response from a male voice. He triangulated the location of the voices to an alley across the street, prompting him to cross behind a parked truck and huddle down. In his long overcoat and hat, he felt like Humphrey Bogart as he quietly inched his way up to the edge of the masonry. He heard the unmistakable sound of someone being slapped, then:

"I don't give a fuck who dies in that entitled, worthless family. If it were up to me, I'd break into their house in the middle of the night with an axe and finish them all off myself. Porter, his wife, his little kids, even his fuckin' pets. They don't deserve the air they breathe. The only good Porter is a dead one. Your so shallow that you can't even see past your rose-tinted glasses to see who they really are."

Instinctively, Kieran reached for the Army revolver in his coat. He pulled it out and checked the cylinder---it was definitely loaded. As quietly as he could, he cocked the hammer of the pistol back to ready it to fire, a look of intense effort evident on his face. If he was discovered, he could come out shooting. To explain that to the cops was another thing...to explain it to God was another thing. He hoped they wouldn't put him in such a predicament. Even so, he began to silently say the Hail Mary in his head. He was waiting at one end of the alley, and he didn't know if it was a dead end or not. If both of the individuals whom he suspected to be IWU thugs came out at the same time he could be in trouble, but if they went separate ways or came out one at a time he could get the jump on them. He placed his cold fingers against the ancient brickwork of the nearby building, pointed the pistol into the dark of the alley, and waited.

Rudy Meyers.jpgAfter Kieran's departure, Rudy ran like a mad man to assist his boss's family. When he finally shoved his way through the crowd he found Sinead vomiting profusely and looked immediately to the table. Someone had already called the ambulance, so he rolled up his sleeves and attempted to help however he could. He soon realized that whatever had happened was something that was beyond his expertise. He looked to the foggy wine glasses and frowned thinking cyanide. He thought Sinead wouldn't have a prayer of living if she wasn't taken to a hospital quick.

"Clear out! Clear out!" He began to shout, pushing the crowd away from them to allow room for paramedics.

Alexandra looked around at everyone present in the casino, her eyes falling on every talking or chancing their luck with gambling but everyone looked happy and peaceful almost like the terror of a few weeks ago had been finally put to rest. She was unsure if it was anxiety brought on by her past or if it was due to her knowledge and experience but she couldn’t shake the feeling that this was only the calm before the storm. Her eyes darted around the room as she took in all the entrances and exits aswell as the people present, an uneasiness settling over her but she put it down to grief still lingering after Fallon’s untimely death.

Alexandra excused herself from Conor so to go to the bathroom before deciding to go over to the girls. She intended to keep her promise that her and Sinead would drink together. Alexandra stopped at the bar and got a glass of wine before walking over towards where she had seen Lucy and Sinead standing. As she passed James and the mayor she gave them a small smile before taking a sip of her wine, just as she swallowed the drink, she watched in horror as the Mayor fell to the ground coughing and spluttering, her eyes darted towards the table where she saw the steam coming from his glass, her eyes then followed as James forced the wine from Sineads hand before she was held down and made get sick. Alex’s eyes widened in horror before she quickly and automatically let go of the glass she was holding allowing it to smash into pieces On the floor, the liquid flowing into a mess on the ground. Her eyes were wide as she looked around at everyone still present , her eyes darting between the mayor, Sinead and then her own broken glass of wine, she was sure that it had just been the Mayors glass that was poisioned but her mind still began to race and her heart was beginning to beat too quickly as she stood there frozen in place watching as they tried to help Sinead.
