A Different Time (Majestic Rose/ Melix )

"Maybe you can work out with me," said Jamie, leaning against his hands, "if you think I'm doing it wrong." He didn't know why he was so daring today, but he suspected it had something to do with the clothes- he'd need a lot of confidence to pull these off. (No, not like that, you pervert.) "Anyway, would you like to get started?" Jamie made sure Blake knew what he was talking about by pulling Blake's hands out of Jamie's shirt before gesturing at the door.

He wanted to keep his hands close to the younger man's body, but sadly they were pulled out. "Fine, fine...we'll spot each other or something..." He looked at the door, and nodded, "Uh, yeah...let's walk first, we still need to get too know each other, I mean, we can't just grab at each other, right?" He joked, sticking his tongue out before moving to the door.

"I hope it's still good out." He mumbled as he opened the door, the sun was covered by clouds, but it wasn't stormy weather thankfully. "Come on, legs." He smirked again, imagining his reaction.

"I don't know what you mean by 'grab at each other', but..." He reached out and grabbed Blake's hand. "I'm that pathetic type of person who hasn't made friends since pre-kinder- if you informed me right now that you were a serial killer who was going to take me into the woods and do naughty things to me, I honestly wouldn't mind very much." How's that for getting to know someone? How embarrassing for Jamie. "That's probably all you need to know about me, right? That I'm pathetic?" Not letting go of Blake's hand, he stretched upward toward the sun, thoroughly enjoying himself in the late afternoon warmth. His shirt (or Blake's shirt, depending on how you saw it) revealed the lower part of his stomach again, the same area Blake had gotten to touch earlier- revealing a little bit of tanned skin. "Well, I'm officially the heir to the Kingdoms of Portabella and Raine, and if it turns out Zero's kid is illegitimate- my parents are looking for loopholes in his marriage contract right now- then I'm also the ruler of Rudivaere; big whoop. They'll just end up giving it all to my little brother, George. He's in pre-school now, but they've always liked him better- everyone has. I don't have any friends, as you surely recall."

His face flushed again as he grabbed his hand, although the things he said was a bit...disturbing. "Do-do things to you?" He asked, his face shocked. Although he followed after, watching him enjoy the sun. It was nice, although his eyes followed his body, gazing at his back, he was talking about being an heir or something.

"Yeah. You're alright. I don't think you're pathetic....you're pretty cool." He smiled, moving his eyes away from his back. "I mean....what's your favorite food? Mines grilled cheese. We'll probably have totally different preferences."

"What's a grilled cheese? I like mutton- the juicier, the better. But, not, like, raw." Jamie smiled. This guy was really nice- may as well try to please him. "As for the other generic questions, my favorite color is blue, like your eyes, and I weigh 105 pounds. My favorite song is Lionheart by the Traveling Minstrels, I like all running sports that don't involve tackling, my favorite day of the week is Wednesday, and I was named after a gecko Walter's brother Hamish lost as a kid. Anything else?'

(Walter always picks the best names....)

Blake was taken back by the response. "Woah there! Too much so quickly!" He chuckled, "Mine is green, I weigh about 130-ish...I don't really have a favorite song...mostly rock—which is a genre of music. I'll show you some later. My favorite day is Thursday...and, well...we'll watch some movies tonight." He patted Jamie's back, "Lets hope I don't lose you!" (Awwwhhhh)

"Aww. You don't like the color of my eyes?" Jamie blinked his pretty purples up at Blake, hoping for some silly response, like a blush. Then he realized, hey, he wanted this guy to blush. Was he getting the beginnings of attraction toward this male? He'd never felt anything like it, so he had no point of reference. He decided to just take everything else Blake said, that he didn't understand, at face value. He'd learn about them later. "Does this mean I'm invited back into your lovely home, with the gorgeous paintings of you all over? Although I must say you look better in real life." He made a mental note not to lose Blake. "I do need to be getting home, though...somehow."

(Part of two of my teeth just fell out. Wonderful.)

( You're still pretty <3 )

Blake rolled his eyes, "If you time traveled, you can stay here your entire life, and than go back to being a kid where you're from." That's if he was a time traveler! He still didn't believe it, but he didn't voice his opinions. "I'm sure you can stay with me. My mother won't mind, one of my friends stayed with us for a whole year!" It was true, although he had an abussive mother.

He skipped the comment about his eyes. His eyes were beautiful, but he wasn't going to say it! They were just being friends. And friends complemented one another often. No biggie. "I do like your hair though. I've never had it long before, always short. Can't exactly shoot hoops with your hair everywhere."

(Aww, thanks! As it turns out, I had two teeth on one side, so one just got partially pushed out. The other idk but I am going to a dentist soon.)

"Not really. I traveled here and I didn't age a day- if what you said was true, I'd have already either been a baby, a geezer, or dead, right now. Yeah?" Jamie grinned, showing off his pearly whites, before gesturing all over at himself. "And I think it's safe to say I've still got my youthful glow..." He trailed off, looking at Blake with renewed interest. He hadn't really checked him out before, but he was doing so now. Black hair, gorgeous blue eyes (as previously mentioned), broad shoulders, nicely toned, with a winning smile. "As do you, handsome. I bet you've courted many women in your time, haven't you?"

At the hair comment, Jamie flipped his hair around. "I usually keep it tied up with ribbon- I don't know if you still have these, but it's called a ponytail." A blond jogger passed them. "You do still have those. Well, anyway, my hair was tied up when I left, but when I landed, the ribbon was gone. I also brought a blue exercise ball, but I have no idea where that went, either. I hope it didn't randomly appear in history and freak someone out."

He nodded when he mentioned his youthful glow. It was true. But was he going to say it? Nope!

He nodded, but when he talked about him courting women he shook his head, "Nope! I've actually never had a partner...and...women aren't really my thing." He didn't know how else to say it, mostly by fear of how he'd react.

The wind picked up, blowing his short hair across his forehead, urging him to correct it. "I have a project due Tuesday, so, I'll have to start tonight...I hope you don't mind, I'll probably wait until you're asleep though." He did have a very important final, in form of a project due. It was very mundane, and frankly boring to Blake, but if he wanted to pass the class he'd do it.

“Neither have I,” said Jamie. “I haven’t talked to a girl outside of my family since…” He counted on his fingers, wondering why he'd left his math workbook at home. “Three-ish years ago, I think? That was when my parents stopped forcing me to go on dates with girls in the hopes that I’d fall in love…at thirteen, because that was going to happen.” He shook his head at the absurdity of it all, smiling up at Blake. “Oh! They made me go on dates with a few guys, too, but that also didn’t work. My counselor thinks I’m too un-empathetic to find love, but I believe I’m, um, agamic?” That was the word for it they used in Raine. “So I just don’t get crushes. I don’t like people much, anyway.” He glanced up at Blake, blushing. "Well, I mean, I like you..."

Blake rolled his eyes, a settle blush settling in, "Yeah, yeah." He turned his eyes to the clouds, "You get pretty personal pretty quick." Blake moved his sapphire eyes away from the sky, back down to earth. "I guess someone doesn't have any secrets, eh? You probably spew them all over the place." He didn't mind him being open, truthfully. But, he was also a bit concerned about how much he told, and too a complete stranger!

"I've never had anyone before to tell my secrets to, except Andrew, so I guess I'm just excited." Was there something wrong with what he'd told Blake, he wondered? He racked his brain, but couldn't think of anything, so he just shoved past that am-I-okay darkness and said simply (as, despite his training he wasn't the most eloquent person, just chatty) "We can walk in silence if you prefer." In no way did he even remotely wish to make his new found friend uncomfortable. "After I say one thing: for someone who complains about getting too personal, you are very skimpily dressed." And he stuck out his tongue. Of course he did!

He rolled his eyes, "No. Let's talk." Than he went on to call him skimpy. "What? Getting nervous around my arms of steel?" He winked, wrapping his left arm around Jamie, and pulling him close to his side. "I think someone is just jealous." He squeezed him against his side once more before unwrapping his arm.

Jamie raised an eyebrow, finding himself trapped in an uncomfortable side hug for a moment before being released into the cool (now evening) air. "Are your arms really made of steel?" asked Jamie, blinking innocently. "If they are, they're much more comfy than one would expect." He didn't take the opportunity to grab Blake's arm again- it was becoming startlingly clear that Blake was not enjoying neither his compliments nor his touches, so he'd better leave off. "I'm actually more worried about your legs."

"No, they're not made of steel, stilly." He smiled. He was really sweet. Blake did enjoy his company quite a lot.

"Why my legs? I don't think anything is wrong with them." He looked down at his legs, as if something WAS wrong, although he didn't see anything physical.

"You have wonderful legs," said Jamie. "I am jealous, so I am trying desperately not to stare." He smiled at Blake- geez, he hadn't meant to worry the poor guy. "Well, you said- and it is the future- I thought maybe..." He gave up, glaring up and away from Blake. "Hey, wanna race somewhere later? We could relay if you prefer."

Blake chuckled, and ruffled the boy's hair, "Calm down, don't get so nervous around me." He shaked his head slowly, "I don't want to do that, sorry kiddo, I just don't feel like it, I prefer talking to you, I mean, you don't mind talk to me right?"

"Yeah, but...talking gets boring after a while." He leaned into Blake's hand. "I just want to run until I fall down and then sleep for a while...Time traveling can really take it out of you." Hmm. "Tell you what. You win me at a race, and I'll buy you food." What food, Jamie decided, would be up to Blake. "Humor me."

"Oh come on, you're like a kid." He smiled, "Listen...we'll do this later, okay?" He almost sounded Luke a parent now...oh well, he just didn't listen.

"I am a kid!" protested Jamie, twirling around to look at Blake skeptically. "I'm sixteen years old, I still take gymnastics, and I've never been in love, much less dealt with any kind of heartbreak. If you meant that as an insult, you're giving me far too much credit." Unlike their previous interactions, Jamie didn't saunter away. "I feel strangely comfortable with you. Did you drug me?"

(Oh, god, Jamie. Jamie no. Jamie stop. Jamie, you need help.)

Blake rolled his eyes, "Calm down. I didn't do anything. You're just a late bloomer, you'll do grown up things..eventually." He didn't exactly know what to say, "And no. Sorry I don't drug people..." A gust of wind picked up, and slammed into the two boys, the wind was chilly, and fierce (my whole life ;) ).

Blake grabbed Jamie's arm, and pulled him close, "C-come on, we should get going I did get a notification on my phone about a tornado warning..."

"Don't be sorry- it's a hazard of the job. Again, though, even if you did..." He shrugged, sudden;y being pulled over closer to Blake as a gust of wind nearly knocked him off his feet. Briefly he wondered if he was being pulled closer due to his earlier comment, but it became clear in a moment that this was not the case. "What's a tornado warning? What's a tornado? What's a phone? What's a notification?" And why did Blake seem so terrified of tornadoes?

He shook his head "Just a lot of wind, although I'm not sure it's starting—or supposed to start now...I'm just a bit worried." How could be so clueless? He always ignored those alerts since they never happened. Although, he felt as if he had to protect this boy strangely, and a warning was enough to trigger that feeling.

"Okay," agreed Jamie, leaning up toward him. "As long as you keep me from flying away..." There was a thing Jamie's parents did that honestly he always felt was pathetic. Whenever Adam wanted something from Walter, he'd simply fall into Walter's lap with a simpering look and the words "Protect me" on his lips. And as much as he hated his parents PDA, he was beginning to "get" it- in fact, he was even wondering, if he said it, he could get the same reaction. (Disturbing that he liked this person so much already, when they hadn't even known each other for what, an hour?) In the absence of Blake's lap, since they weren't sitting down, he swung himself onto Blake's back, piggy-back style, and mumbled it in Blake's ear. "Protect me, okay?"

(He's curious, but oblivious as to what he's curious about.)
