If there are two Bulls, I hope one of you maybe relate it to the Thane from Hypnos's character as it seems he is responsible for some human experimentation. I want you all to be comfortable to talk with eachother and not just directly with me, you all have power to decide the lore here together, I'm mostly here to keep things in check and organize it

So if your character is anything like it, then you've stepped out of the Delinquent archetype. In other words, the Delinquent is a hero, a trouble maker still, but never a villain.

I'm not sure what designates a good character design program (I can't draw). Would this be okay? (Character Creator 2D by mochakingup) Or would general reference pictures of characters from other media be acceptable (which is alittle basic I know).

Alright, that's good to know! My current idea is a healer that's able to aid other's at the expense of their own health, though they're able to siphon energy from some other person. Their ability is caused by a parasite embedded into their leg that'll gradually spread and devour their whole body, but they choose not to amputate in order to continue saving people. So their conflict is actually against themselves: do the needs of the many outweigh their own life?

I would love to hear your concept as well, especially as a hardcore fan of Lovecraft!

Sounds interesting! but don't let the fear of mimicking something from popular media stop you, just have fun with it and write what gives you motivation. I am down for both ideas so it's up to you

Excal yeah that works - actually the base the characters im drawing on the same body format as that one haha.
Here is an example of a character I drew yesterday. I plan to use him as an important npc for the first campaign. My art style is very basic but it does enough to illustrate the ideas I have. Notice how the way he stands arms are the same as the creator you found, haha, I was using that as a base since its a really good standing stance. But it's totally fine if you can't draw. There's a bunch of options I can offer.

• There are cool vector kits out there like this one. You can use inkscape to dress up the doll how you want to. If you want to I can do it for you if you describe what your character looks like and I'll set it all up for you . I'll also try to shape up your costume for you.
• charactercreator.org has a lot of options, but some people might not like how adulty the characters are for their characters, but its an option if it applies.
• Meiker.io has a bunch of options too! like this one is cool, or this power ranger one haha.

Honestly any character dress up. It's a little harder to find nowadays since the flash player is now dead. There still are plently of options.
Please don't stress about that part tho, I'm only asking for this so that if I ever get any art of this roleplay drawn, I am not straight up stealing another artist's character who didn't even know their character was used without their permission. I'm not the greatest artist, but that's why I am still offering to make the basic vector characters if need be.

But worry about the rest of the application - images can be dealt with in the future.

Regarding the recent edit to my claim, is it alright if I still do the beacon? I can do the protege if you'd rather, but I'd been solidifying the ideas for that after the last edit. I was thinking a scientist type character for the beacon role.

I actually quite like that! Parasite v Sacrifice/Healing is a nice dichotomy.

Ah, mine wasn't anything too original. I've been playing Sunless Seas/Skies/Cultist Simulator and have an aesthetic itch for it kinda.

The idea was inspired by THESUN and basically, whether it was a Doomed or a Bull, the story revolves around an ernest/enthusiastic Christian seeking to deepen their knowledge of their faith/service their church and ending up being pulled into an underground cult that masqeurades as traditional Christian, but is actually a Gnostic cult/Zoroastrian cult that worship artefacts/machine beings that resemble the eldritch true angels Ophanim (flaming wheels with eyes).

These things are aliens that take over the mind and eventually the body of those around them, granting powers that make the human form appear radiant with golden eyes and smooth but sometimes cracked golden skin aka angelic.

Although in the case of the Doomed it was gonna be more The Thing with the cults jusification that a gross sinful deimurage material world couldn't contain a divine Gnostic being properly and so it comes out as this abomination that must be contained by a human host. (Event Horizon?)

With a Doomed it was gonna be an archeologist digging up ancient scripture/ruins of Alexandria in Egypt, stumbling on an artefact, wonderig why his mentor is acting suspicious all a sudden, and stumbling across the cultisrs true writings and attempting to heroically interrupt a summoning ritual that ends up having him possessed, and he escapes and is now struggling with his faith alongside a psychic angel/alien thing trying to take over his mind.

Although one trait of it being it tries to pressure its divinity doctrine onto him but he realises it sounds very wishy washy like a new age cult and realizes eventually its a chinese box, aka its just talking without any understanding of meaning (ala the book Blindsight), and so it may not actually be a divine being but an alien. And yeah he tries to hunt down the cult while fighting madness.


Similar setup with the Bull, except its an ernest church going teen thats big into drama/acting and is a fan of a supehero christian organization that claims a method of granting 'gods power' to select devoted (description above), and he volunteers and trains really hard to eventually be selected and gets whisked off to a monestary along with other converts.

There they are relieved of all possessions and contact, get split into divisions training them in certain menial activities meant to prepare them, and get personal mentors to trck their progress in faith and training. Initially ita idyllic but over time he catches sinister elements like how far off the senior adherents act and strange noises underground in certain sectiona and etc and the sight of one adherent briefly shedding his face finally snaps him in.

However he knows hes kinda trapped and employs a self hypnotic method acting technique he picked up in the past where he suppresses his personality to adopt a role fully and maintains this state of doublethink, progressing in ranks until he hits the brainwashing ceremony with the eldritch device/being and says his safe qord and wakes up his dormant self, causing the ceremony to fail in brainwashing him and he escapes, mind shattered and physically empowered but not controlled.

He spends a year traumtised and basically living as a homeless, and seemingly paranoid schizophrenic, trying to cover up the radiant traits like pretending to be blind to wear thick shades. Gets eventually picked by an ex army social worker who helps him heal enough to regain a sense of self and now he's trying to uncover this conspiracy.

Sure! If you're offering, my Bull's design would be very simple at the moment.

Classic jeans and hoddie look, thick black shades, wears black workers gloves. Caucasian male 5'10" with a kinda marine buffed wide shoulders athletic look but his face is more baby face/feminine/gentle fellow look with golden shinning eyes that he hides, shaved/buzzed black hair, very smoth, hmm, like creamy brown tan/bronzed skin with a crack near bottom of his neck like a frostbite cracked skin except sunlight pouring out faintly. Carries a walking aid stick (with the ball) for the appearence.

If he ever gets a costume it'd be like his nemesis groups design, which is classic superman spandex with white and gold colors and cross emblem, the more ranged/psychic members having a half robe as well. So his would be red and black with a winged circle with an eye in the center and golden cracks as a sort of open 'fuck you I know your secret' fashion statement.

Haha I just realized this might be an overly masculine RP with all male characters. I'll have to make a lot of female and non binary npc superheroes to balance it out

Another note, I will eventually create a "wiki" page on here where we can describe certain things that you introduced with your character. So if you introduce a company of sorts for example, or a special item, or a new species, be prepared to add a page describing it in the future so that this information is easy to access like a wiki page. but for now just focus on your CS, that's just future plans I wanted to make clear.

I get the feeling, I left RPN 2 years ago due to some drama. I left skype too because of said drama and moved on to discord, and while I was lucky that discord existed and was essentially an upgrade to skype, I don't think you'll have that same luck with how popular and just efficient discord is.
Definitely brings up bad memories I bet, but why not give it another shot? Rewrite the old memories with new ones
