A Change of Heart

[Tenome]

"That's a bit cruel, don't you think?" Jesse stepped out and opened the door to the back. He jostled Izzy gently. "Dude, get up."


Izzy roused slowly, and Matt did as well. As predicted, Brad was still fast asleep, and it took Mitch and Jesse both to even drag him out of the vehicle. "Jesus, he's heavy."


"Lifting weights? I think he's been swallowing them instead." They managed to drag him to the front door.

Mei giggled and opened the door for them, looking around inside.

 

[Tenome]

"Thanks."


Once inside, they deposited Brad on a couch and propped him on his side.


Izzy and Matty staggered to the couch that faced the tv, sitting close to each other. Mitch sat on the opposite end, and Jesse went to go load up the video game. Izzy patted the cushion next to him tiredly.

Mei smiled and sat down. She looked at all of them, and laughed. 'You guys are so hilarious drunk." she said.

 

[Tenome]

Matty was slightly out of it, and slurred his words. "We are always fun." He squinted. Jesse looked back at him.


"Shut your damn face Matty, do you want to wake your dad up? He'd lecture us until the sun comes up."


Jesse sat between Mei and Mitch. It was a tight squeeze, all five of them on the same couch, but it worked. He passed out the controllers, all four, but Izzy gave his controller to Matty. "Funnier to watch him play drunk, he whispered to Mei.

Mei smiled. "Alright then." She said. When the game was over, she had won all of the rounds and the guys where all glaring at each other, groaning.

 

[Tenome]

Matty threw his controller down in frustration and got up to leave. The sound of vomiting could be heard from the bathroom across the hall. Izzy just laughed and picked the controller up. "Told you he was fun."

 

[IceQueen]

Mei just chuckled. "You are all a bit interesting when highly intoxicated." She laughed. "I am just glad that no one tried to kiss me." 
Mei smiled, thinking what it would be like if someone (Cough Cough Izzy Cough Cough) had kissed her and her face grew red.

Izzy just laughed. "I wouldn't put it past these guys."

Mei just chuckled. "That was still some party, though I am glad they did not play spin the bottle."

"Honestly I'm surprised they didn't." Izzy checked his phone. 2:30. It was late. He looked at Matty who was passed out next to him. "I'm going to sleep in his room. Want to come? He's got a pretty big bed. Trust me when I say this floor is not comfortable."

 

[IceQueen]

Mei sighed. "I guess I have no choice." She said, standing up.

 

[Tenome]

Mitch and Jesse supported each other as they slept, and izzy smiled. His friends were too cute. He grabbed Mei by the hands and les her up the stairs.

 

[IceQueen]

Mei squeaked, her face growing red as she followed him.

 

[Tenome]

He staggered up the stairs, far to drunk to keep his balance steady. He pushed the door open to Matty's bedroom. He stopped at the threshold and held her hands in his. "I think we're going to be really, really good friends," he mumbled, touching the tip of his nose to hers.

 

[IceQueen]

Mei blushed darkly. "Uhh, yeah." She said, completely frozen and stunned by his actions.

 

[Tenome]

Without thinking, he pressed his lips to hers quickly. He held for a moment before smiling and pulling away. "Good night."


He flopped onto the nearest side of the bed, and passed out.

Mei felt her face grow red as his lips drew closer to hers. Before she knew it, his lips where pressed to hers, effectively stealing her first kiss. She felt her face flush darker(if that was possible), her eyes widening. She could still smell the alcohol on his breath, and a little bit of the bonfire too. But all too soon, he pulled away, leaving her stunned in the doorway.


A few minutes later, Mei blinked a few times, her face still as red. She took her hands and slapped her cheeks lightly, closing her eyes. She opened them again and opened her mouth to say something as she turned towards him, her mouth shutting after her gaze landed on the sleeping form of the man who had stolen her first kiss. His hair was messy and all over the place and he was about to fall off the bed.


Sighing, Mei trudged over towards the bed, kneeling beside it. She slowly reached around his body, her hand taking a firm grasp of the sheets and pulled them out from under him. She gently pushed him onto his back and away from the edge, pulling the sheets over his limp body.


She laid her arms on the edge of the bed, placing her head on it, watching his sleeping face. He breathed in and out regularly, his chest rising and falling slowly as he did so. The smell of Izzy and the warmth of the room tugged at her eyelids, begging her to close them. She didn't want to be a nuisance, so she opened her eyes, and looked at him. Brushing away a few strands of hair from his face, she tucked a strand of her long black hair behind her ear as she leaned in, giving him a soft kiss on the forehead.


Blushing at her action, she stood up and walked towards a comfortable chair in the corner of the room. She sighed, flopping down in the chair and curling up in a ball, her gaze laying one last time on Izzy before she let them close and plunge her into one of her horrible nightmares.

Mei twitched in her sleep, her dreams becoming vivid and horrifying. She was lucky she hadn't screamed this time. Panting, she swallowed the bile that was filling her throat, looking around in a dazed panic. The memories from last night slowly came back, calming her down a bit. With the memory fresh in her mind, she looked at the clock, seeing that she had been asleep for a little over an hour. She sighed, trying to close her eyes, but the memories came back.


Sighing, her eyes shifted to the bed that was a mere 5 feet away. She could still see Izzy's sleeping form though the darkness. She sighed, realizing that she had little to no choice left. It was either join him and sleep, or don't and pass out in the morning.


She sighed, slowly unfolding her curled form from the chair. She slowly crawled over towards the large bed, her form still shaking. She slowly sat up, pulling the covers away and slipping inside the covers. She instantly felt comfort, relaxing. She scooted a bit closer to Izzy, looking at him and closing her eyes again.
