"The world has changed and the need for the forest guardian has waned, and for its heart as well. Your work is over."

Her eyes widened till they looked like miniature moons. "What do you plan with us then?"

"Well, I plan on giving you a quiet life together away from trouble where you can spend the rest of your days."

She seemed to settle a little and nodded. "Just us..or the entire family?"

 

[JessieSune]

"Just you. Your family is a lot of work and I would as soon give them time to develop. You won't forget them, nor they you -- you'll be able to keep in touch -- but your new home will be far away from here."

She smiled. "Yes, though I guess it was unfounded." She chuckled a bit. "So, a life if relaxation... That sounds nice.."

"I think it's time you got it. You've had a hard series of incarnations...and I think it best that you be relaxed. You won't need your powers though. I'm going to turn you into an ordinary Ninetales."

 

[AmethystRoze]

"And our children? How will we stay in touch?"

 

[JessieSune]

"They'll find ways. You built them to be very intelligent. Now hold still...and don't be surprised when your crest disappears."

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Cass will be there yes?" She asked, getting ready, feeling there was no room for questioning.

 

[JessieSune]

"Cass will be reshaped to become your new brain. Your mind will shrink, but you yourself will still be you. You'll receive a new name, and then you will be placed under the care of humans. Do you accept?"

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Well he still have his own conscious? He may be dormant now, but he's still here.."

"Cassiopeia will be quietly fused into your consciousness, but will not be given his own mind. His purpose is fulfilled so he need not exist any longer."

"I suppose there's no negotiating this?" She asked with a sad smile. "He was my best friend.."

Arceus nods. "You really want him back? Well...how would you propose I do so?"

 

[AmethystRoze]

She shook her head. "Tis is out of my hands I suppose,I respect your decisions."

"He must not have been that important after all. Well then, ready yourself."

Arceus begins to emanate a light.

She took great offense to this. "Hey! He was my best friend as I've said, I was trying to be agreeable." She then realises she just yelled at Arceus, but holds her ground. "He was always treat to sacrifice himself first..... Take me instead.. give him a home."

 

[JessieSune]

"Trying to be agreeable by letting your friend dissipate?" Arceus pauses. "Give him a home? Child, the reason for the action was not that one of you must die -- it was that Cass had fulfilled his purpose. You needed only to show that he still had one -- it's not a sacrifice scenario."

The Ninetales suddenly finds herself held inches away from the imposing Pokemon's face.

"I had hoped that making him into your brain would be satisfactory, but if you have a different idea, this is your only chance to tell me."

She was incredibly intimidated, but needed to be brave. She didn't want Cass gone but...the children would still need her... Or would they? "Is there no hope for restoring him?" She asked, she wanted to rest...

"If you wish, I can separate the two of you, but it will be jarring and possibly painful -- and the two of you will both be simple-minded creatures not much brighter than Rose, that Vaporeon who you reduced to babbling. It will be irreversible -- but you will then be moved to a place where you will be cared for. Do you accept?"
