They sit in silence a couple moments.

"You'll stay with Shelby, right?"

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Only if you stay...." She said, clearly struggling with the thought.

 

[JessieSune]

"If I can't...I think you deserve to be happy here."

 

[AmethystRoze]

"I'll be happier with you Akira..." She said nuzzling them slightly.

 

[JessieSune]

"I'm not so sure. Shelby's treatment has made you...different. You seem more at peace more often. I think whatever she's doing for you must be very good. I don't want to take you away from it."

 

[AmethystRoze]

Danielle's face seemed to contort. "I.... I cant Leave you I... I love you to dearly... if I have to sacrifice some parts of my life for that then so be it."

 

[JessieSune]

"That's what Balaa said...and I wasn't even sentient when that happened."

Akira sighs.

"I will try to stay -- but I will not have you leave. The world has given up quite enough on my account."

 

[AmethystRoze]

"But... I cant lose you too... and who will keep you safe?... without a guardian.." She sniffed.

 

[JessieSune]

"Perhaps it's time I learned to guard myself. I've been given much power, but always told I should let another take the fall for me. My life is no more valuable than anothers -- I don't wish to treat it as such. This I promise -- you will not lose me."

 

[AmethystRoze]

Danielle drops her head, having lost the battle. "I...What did I ever do to deserve you?" She asked, nuzzling them slowly.

 

[JessieSune]

"I was about to ask you the same thing," says Akira.

The day passes slowly -- eventually both Pokemon return home. Shelby is on the couch, but gets up when she sees them.

"Hey, guys. Doing okay?"

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Yeah, thanks." She said, appreciatively walking up to Shelby and nuzzling her.

 

[JessieSune]

"I'm thinking of how we can incorporate Akira into our routine tomorrow. I know I said if you came to work you'd end up belonging to Silph Co., but I think I can get around it. How about if both of you are put into Aromatherapy?"

"I'm game," says Akira. "Why, exactly, though?"

"It's a harmless experiment, and will help us determine if you can stay with us."

Danielle cocks her head. "Im more then happy to do it again, but why would that help?"She asked inquisitively.

 

[JessieSune]

"I want to see if Akira responds to things as a normal Pokemon would."

"I suppose I would. Is it nice?"

"Danielle knows better than I do about that."

 

[AmethystRoze]

"At first it's strange but it feels rather nice afterwards." Danielle said smiling, wondering how Akira would react to it.

 

[JessieSune]

"Then okay," says Akira. "I'll try it."

Shelby nods. "Alright. I have to go to bed. You two want to sleep here tonight?"

Akira looks at Danielle for approval.

 

[AmethystRoze]

Danielle nodded. "If that's ok with you."

 

[JessieSune]

"Of course," Shelby says with a smile. Bed or ball tonight?"

"Bed I think." She said looking at Akira. "Although, I suppose you need some place as well.."

Akira doesn't answer, instead burying themselves in Danielle's tails.

"Well...night then," says Shelby, crawling into bed.

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Goodnight, thanks again." She said crawling into her bead and looking at Akira, smiling warmly. "Goodnight." She did her head and went to sleep.

Danielle finds herself jolted awake by Shelby.

"Danielle? Get up. Quick! I just realized something!" Her voice is breathless, urgent.

 

[AmethystRoze]

Danielle is roused to action. "What is it is everything ok?" She jolted up quickly turning to every side, looking for danger.
