Realistic or Modern A Camp for Musicians

Eve looked at her and laughed a bit at her words about insecurity. "Probably..." She said quietly as she shrugged. When she got the compliment from Leandra, she decided that she was right. Eve took a deep breath and held herself a bit higher as she glanced over at Leandra and gave a bright smile as she headed in the direction of the dining hall.


When she walked it, the first impression she got was a bit fancy for camp, but she liked it. She walked over to the buffet and saw all kinds of food. There was Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, BBQ as well as any type of vegetable you could think of from peas to corn to sweet potatoes and some steak and hamburgers. Eve fixed her plate with a steak, some mashed potatoes and peas before going to an empty table and sitting down.

Leandra grinned at Eve holding herself a bit higher and flashed a smile back at her to help her feel even more confident.


Once they entered the chow hall, Leandra grinned and nodded at everything before saying to Eve, "I already liked it here, now I'm starting to love it here." Joining Eve at the buffet line, Leandra filled her plate with various foods and then followed after Eve to set her plate down. Yet, before Leandra got settled, her eyes widened at the sight of Manjano and another one of the campers cleaning up a mess together. What had happened between the two?

Allison was relieved that she didn't get any of her food on the guy, but she still felt super guilty. All she could say was "I'm sorry" over and over again as she cleaned up her mess. She gave him a thankful smile as he helped her clean up. She glanced and saw her food had mixed with his food. "I'm sorry, did you want me to get you a new plate or something?" His silence was a little bit unnerving, but everyone had their reasons for being the way they are and she wasn't about to judge. She looked up at him curiously, awaiting a response. More people were entering the dining hall and was grateful they all didn't see her fall.

Once they had finally cleaned up the mess, Manjano let out an almost inaudible sigh, as he closed his eyes for a moment to keep his composure despite this high annoyance. On the bright side, he wasn't even planning on eating anything else, so it wasn't like the girl had ruined his dinner for him. Opening his eyes again, Manjano's expression remained neutral, as he heard the girl asking him if he wanted her to make him a new plate. Meeting her eyes for a moment, Manjano said nothing, and then he broke the eye contact and turned on his heels, heading straight for the door, fully intending on heading straight back to the twins' cabin and to go to sleep. Maybe he'd finally get some proper sleep for once, though that was highly unlikely.

Rowan heard her stomach growl after she finished unpacking her stuff in her room. She placed her hand over her stomach and grabbed her board heading out her room to the chow hall. Once she arrived she saw the delicious food and was was a little surprised at how it looked. It wasn't that nasty food they would give out at the schools or here for that matter. She started piling her plate with food before turning around and looks for a spot to sit at. She saw two girls just sit dow, plus there was an open seat. She smiled and walked over to the table where she gracefully slammed her tray on and looked at the girls. " Nǐ hǎo!Luō wén de míngzì kreiberg zhè shì yīgè hěn gāoxìng jiàn dào nǐ!" She said looking at the girls. "If you don't speak Chinese I said ' Hi there! Names Rowan kreiberg it's a pleasure to meet you!'"

Kyungsoo walks over to the figure he had noticed. It's so dark, and it's still a little hard to make out the figure. "I, um.. don't know where we're supposed to go. Could you help me?" He inches closer to the figure, now being able to see more details in the shadow, but it still wasn't clear.

"But if you don't know either, it's ok. We could bo-" He steps in a mud puddle and trips over into the mud. His lips form a frown and he curses in his native language angrily. He's wearing his favorite shoes, too. Forget the fact that he'll eat dinner all dirty, his shoes are far more precious than a sanitary outfit. Darn!

Leandra raised an eyebrow at the overly enthusiastic girl, who just joined Eve and Leandra at their table. Glancing up at Manjano and the other girl, Leandra was disappointed to see Manjano heading to the exit. She'd been hoping he'd react more to the girl, but she supposed that was asking for too much. Sighing, Leandra sat down by Eve and then listened to the girl speaking Mandarin to them. While Leandra wasn't exactly fluent, she had learned some elementary Mandarin last summer and so she tentatively responded, "你好! (Nǐ hǎo!) 我叫 (Wǒ jiào) Leandra Sinciato. I learned the basics last summer, but I've already forgotten what Chinese name my teacher gave me." Grinning, Leandra then asked Rowan, "So, where'd you learn your Chinese?"

Eve jumped slightly when the enthusiastic girl came and sat down beside with herself and Leandra speaking some kind of weird language. Rather than admitting she had no idea what they were saying, she remained silent and kept giving short glances towards the entrance. Looking back at to two she shrugged her shoulders slightly. "I only speak English and French," she said with a small smile. "I'm Evelisse," she added with a wide smile as she studied the girl.

Rowans eyes widen when she heard the girl respond back to her in Chinese then nodded her head. "I'm impressed you know some chinese...anyway I lived there for a few years and picked up the language with ease..." She told Leandra smiling then looked at the other girl who said she could only speak English and French "English and French huh? Well in that case, Bonjour Evelisse, non seulement je parle chinois et en anglais, je parle français aussi bien..." She winked at her, then took her fork out and began eating. "Do you speak any other languages Leandra and can I call you Lean and you Eve?"

Leandra was rather impressed of Rowan's language skills, even slightly jealous that she knew so many different languages so efficiently. Responding to Rowan's question, Leandra shrugged and said, "I know a small bit of Spanish here and there. That's about it though." Hearing the nickname suggestion, Leandra's eyes darkened and narrowed before she responded with a low tone, "No nicknames." She then lokked down at her food and began quietly eating it for the time being.

Eve smiled at the girl knowing French and began to eat. When she suggested the nicknames, Eve nodded at her own. "I prefer Eve," she said with a smile though it faded when Leandra grew all dark and scary. She decided to ask her later on that night about it. She grew silent as well and began to eat a bit more, occasionally glancing at the door.

"You look like the spawn of the devil when your eyes darken like that...but then again there are a lot of spawns of the devil and you're not one of them I can tell...but anyway no nickname for you Leandra, no nickname for me either cause...you can't really get a nickname out of my name...also...Leandra is a real nice name...I like it..." She said before taking another bite out of her meal. She wasn't really phased about the whole eyes darkening, low voice thing Leandra did, she's seen worse in her own opinion. "And I will call you Eve from now on..." She told Eve before taking another bite of her meal and swallowed before speaking again. "So...where are you ladies from? You're now my new camp friends and I want to get to know you both" Rowan said smiling and looked at them with her lavender eyes.

Hearing Rowan talking about spawns of the devil and comparing her to them, Leandra suddenly lost her appetite entirely. Standing up abruptly, Leandra then said, "I'm, uh, no longer hungry. You two can continue eating." Looking at Eve, Leandra then said briefly, "I'll be waiting for you at my cabin once you're done eating." She didn't want Rowan to be hearing about Eve and her's sleepover plans since Leandra really wanted to spend some time getting to know Eve better. Problem was, Leandra was beginning to feel very uncomfortable around Rowan, especially since she seemed to take the hardened look from Leandra as some odd, supernatural thing. Shaking her head at this, Leandra then took her tray to a nearby trash bin and dumped her remaining food before heading towards the exit of the chow hall.

Meanwhile, Manjano was walking back to the twins' cabin when he turned a corner and saw a boy sitting in a mud puddle with another person standing in the shadows nearby. Confused by the pairing, Manjano began to walk towards the two and then stopped himself. Why am I walking towards a social interaction? Shaking his head at himself, Manjano turned around and began to take a different route to the twins' cabin, hoping to avoid anyone else that night.

"Uh oh...man I didn't mean to make her mad...I kinda suck at making friends..." Rowan put down her fork and looked at Eve. "I tend to say things that I don't mean and I didn't intend on making her upset..." She said then slowly pushed her plate away from her. She too lost her appetite and now felt bad that she made one of her new friends upset. She looked up at Eve and sighed. "Is there some way I can fix it? You know...let her know it was unintentional?" She asked really wanting to make it right.

Eve silently watched Leandra walk away and frowned slightly though she didn't want to seem like she was forcing her to do anything. She would ask her about it later. Looking back at Rowan, she shrugged her shoulders simply. "I don't know honestly," she said softly as she continued eating. Even though everyone else had lost their appetite, she was still starving.

Lost again, he cursed silently as he wandered throughout the barely-lit grounds, indeed at a loss of direction. But ever the optimist, Terry kept going, because the more he walked, the more his appetite grew. Then, he saw a group of campers going somewhere. They looked like they knew where they were going, so the boy moved to follow them, but at that moment, he heard someone mumbling, the sound of shoes on mud and a Korean curse. Had he really been new to the camp, he'd have wondered who could be clumsy enough to trip into a puddle of mud and Korean enough to curse like that. As it was, Terry knew there could be only one person like that.


Turning around, it revealed that it was indeed Kyungsoo who tripped. Pity shot through him, he didn't like seeing people in bad situations. He looked tremendously pissed, too. Who can blame him? Those shoes must have cost him a fortune. Without much hesitation, he went over to help him get back to his feet.


"You alright there, chingu?" he askes the blunette on the mud while extending a helping hand.

Greyson walked off into his cabin and pulled out a fresh shirt. Hm let's see... He thought to himself for a bit before putting the shirt around his injured area first. Fortunately, his opposite arm managed to fix the rest of the shirt onto him properly. About time. This'll take some temporary getting used to. The teen continued to think to himself as he exited his cabin.

As Leandra made her way back to her cabin, her mind filled with dark thoughts and memories, so much so that she was paying no heed to her surroundings until she'd walked straight into Greyson at the base of his cabin's steps. Instantly pulled out of her mind, Leandra gasped at having bumped into Greyson of all people. Putting a hand to her mouth, Leandra quickly said, "Greyson, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" Silently chiding herself for making such a mistake, Leandra bit her lip in both frustration and concern for having bumped into the one injured camper here.

Greyson looked up at the sky as he walked along. A sudden impact on his injured side caused him to wince though. "Leandra? It's okay, I'm fine" He replied before noticing her facial expression. "Hey, don't worry about it okay? We're both still alive right? That's all that matters" Grey reassured Leandra with a slight smile after his own words. He already bumped into two people that day...horrible. The teen made a mental note to be more aware of his surroundings. "I'm sorry too. I wasn't really paying attention to where I was going" He clarified.

Leandra attempted a small grin at Greyson's response, though she wouldn't meet his eyes, and then said dismissively, "Yeah, well, I should probably get going. Eve's at the chow hall with another camper, Rowan, if you want to meet up with them." She then began to briskly walk away from Greyson, her gaze returning to the ground, as she shoved her hands in her pockets. She couldn't get her mind off of her parents after what Rowan had said, which was really bringing down her mood at the moment. The last thing she wanted to be thinking about right now was her parents. Especially after the accident happened only a month or two ago.

The mud won't come off the white shoes no matter how much he wipes it off. Actually, it's spreading it further. This is it. This is the end of his whole life. He will never be forgiven, and it's his fault for always being so clumsy.


He hears a familiar voice above him, and he looks up, almost bumping his head on something, then realising it's a hand. He wipes off some of the mud from his hand to his shirt, then taking the hand. "Thank you." He says, still oblivious to who this is, but why refuse a little help? He's covered in mud, he has to go eat like this now, and his shoes are ruined. So help wouldn't hurt right now. He pulls himself up with Terry's help, "Sorry if I got mud on you."


Kyungsoo looks over at another person who is walking away from them. He could have sworn they were walking towards them. He shouts over at that other person, "Excuse me?" He waits for them to turn back around before speaking again.

Manjano froze when he heard someone shout at him and slowly turned to see some Asian guy had sighted him. Unsure of what to do, Manjano shifted uneasily on his feet and then decided against just walking away, as much as he wanted to. After all, that'd come across as rude. Yet, before he could begin to walk towards the guy who'd called out to him, Manjano realized with a start that he'd ask Manjano a bunch of questions, which Manjano would be unable to answer unless he spoke. Shaking his head sadly at the Asian guy, Manjano then turned away and continued on his way to the twins' cabin. He refused to speak to someone he hardly knew.

"Maybe we oughta get you a meal. Might make you focus more," Terry jested at his clumsy acquaintance. In hindsight, that may come across as an insult rather than a joke, but he shrugged it off. Kyungsoo was more than smart enough to distinguish between the two. Probably.


"Anyway, in the meantime, why don't you wear my shoes instead? No use wearing mudded shoes, no matter how fancy they are," he added as he took off his own 'pretty decent' purple Vans and offered them to the blunette. As he had deduced earlier, those shoes must have cost a fortune. It's more painful to keep wearing them, he thought.

His mind questioned what Terry meant by that statement, but he brushed it off. He couldn't have meant any harm. As for that other person, he was completely ignored. "How rude." He whispers to himself, still in the general direction of the person leaving his sight.

"If you don't mind, Terry," He pauses for a bit to adjust his balance and stance, "I'm finte with these. They're kind of special. And you need shoes too, so keep yours." He smiles at Terry and looks back to where the other person was. "We should probably go eat now. I think we're late."

"You sure? Alright then." Terry proceeded to put his shoes back on. Not only expensive, but valuable, too, those shoes. Now that the matter of muddied wear had been taken care of, it was time to return to his previous objective.


"Yeah, I'm really hungry," he remarked, rubbing his stomach jokingly for good measure. "I think I know the way now. Wanna come with?" Terry stepped towards the (presumed) right direction and stopped to offer a hand to Kyungsoo.
