I figured as much when I started this.

The still somehow nameless protagonist noticed the costumed pikachu and pondered if the explosion was caused by a nearby Pokémon battle gone wrong.

But the electric mouse was not so easily caught - the pikachu managed to narrowly dodge the pokeball, before pouncing once more upon the warrior.

Deciding that too many people are around watching them make out Kelly decides to walk our protagonist to her home so they can have some private time together as girlfriend and girlfriend without all of these weirdoes around.

Unfortunately their makeout session is interrupted by the school's resident homophobe who starts shouting slurs at them.

In a surprising twist another pikachu appears but this one is dressed like a mega blastoise.

The Mega Charizard Y Pikachu looked shocked at the new Pikachu, and cautiously approached them.

The mega blastoise pikachu begins to fire bubbles from it's back cannon into the sky and speaks in pikachu why blastoise is cooler than charizard.
