Realistic or Modern 6 Feet Under

"That's sweet J, but the amount of hits our loving father had you put on me only to take them back doesn't exactly make that seem like a believable statement." She said as he left then turned around and when back to John's apartment. "Want some acid?" She muttered twirling the needle in her hand, then tossed it into her purse and flopped down on his couch only to yelp as pokey springs met her. "Ow..." She muttered standing up. Now grumpy but glad to be rid of her brother.

((Darn it RPN...I got none of these updates...))

"Nooo thank you...." He shook his head vigorously. "Tried it once, had a nasty trip, woke up in some women's lingerie and swore to never do it again." He chuckled half-heartedly. That turned into a laugh as she yelped from meeting one of the springs in the couch. "Careful, it bites. You really have to watch where you sit on that ratty old thing or you'll end up with a nasty bruise or scratch."

Vanessa nodded with a sigh, then stretched walking back over to him. "We'll just have to get you a new one after your depts have been paid." She said grabbing up her makeup bag and looking up at him. " you look to be healing up nicely." Said examining him

"I couldn't agree more. That thing needs to be replaced ASAP." He laughed. Stooping down a bit so she could see what needed to be covered up easier. "The doctors and nurses in that hospital did a great job."

"That they did." She muttered holding his chin and turning it in her hands her thumb brushing against his stitches. "Those might be a little harder to hide, we could just leave them and let you fend for yourself when it comes to answers." She chuckled as she pulled out a variety of concealers seeing which would match his skin tone.

"That's an easy one. I could say I got them in a tennis accident." He grinned. "I was too good so the other guy tossed his racket at me to even the odds and I wasn't quite quick enough to get out of the way in time." He chuckled.

As J. sat down the brothel's owner brought up a line up for him of over 20 women for him to choose from all but one was eager to be picked. It was a good friend of Vanessa's and as soon as she saw him she frowned, she would rather deal with all his father's goons than that one man. "F#ck..." She muttered looking back at him. He looked irritated, which wasn't good for any of the girls no matter who he picked.

At that Vanessa laughed. "How many times did he 'toss' it at you?" She chuckled counting four randomly arranged rows of stitches and that was only what was on his face. "Couldn't you just tell them that your ex-girlfriend wanted vengeance or something?" She offered dabbing some makeup on the fading bruise above his eye.

"It was a good throw! The guy had some arm on him." His smile widened. "Buuut that ex-girlfriend thing does sound more reasonable for this amount of stitches. Tennis accident is a bit far fetched unless I got into an all out brawl."

"And often getting into brawls isn't exactly the kind of impression you want to set with your new employees." She added deciding that his face was too bruised to try covering each thing individually so taking her makeup pad she just covered his entire face with concealer.

He hissed slightly as the make-up stung on some of his stitches. "Yeaaaah, that wouldn't be a very good thing....I'd rather not be seen as someone to be feared like that. It's not really my style."

"It's a good thing too doll face," she said patting his now evenly toned face. "Other wise I don't think I would care to even be in the same room with you, let alone help you." She said grabbing some contouring makeup to give his face back the definition the concealer hid. "You think I should add some blush, and make you look real purdy~?" She said jokingly.

"I'm soooo lucky aren't I? Getting the help of such a kind, warm hearted lady." He chuckled. A wide smile spread across his face. "And ha-ha, aren't you funny? I thought I was purdy enough already! buuut you're the expert here." He said in a half joking tone. He was a little scared to even joke about it though with the stories he'd heard about how strict her father was.

"Not really, but I'll let you keep telling yourself that." She teased, it was her cousin Isabella who was the expert not her. Then she stepped away from him for a moment to admire her work. "I'd say I did a good job huh?" She said turning him toward a mirror. His stitches were faint bumps in his skin but you'd have to be uncomfortably close to him to see it.

"Oh come on, I know you're the expert on pretty here." He teased. Leaning in close to the mirror to take a good look at her work. "Not bad, not bad at all! Nobody will be able to tell unless they got real close." He gently tapped the slight bumps on his face. Bad idea since that hurt like Hell.

"Well if anyone does get close let's hope you keep them bent over your desk so they don't have to look at that much improved mug of yours." She quickly pulling his hands away from his face. "Do not mess with it or you'll f#ck it up!" She scolded not wanting him to ruin her master-piece right away.

"Only in my dreams will something like that happen and if I suddenly decide to become a playboy too." He chuckled. His face turned to a pout when she scolded him. "Okay okay sorry! I was just checking it out! I didn't mean to mess up your masterpiece!"

Vanessa just rolled her eyes. "Mhmm sure you didn't." She said putting away her makeup, then turned back over to him. "So what are you driving to your new job?" She asked knowing he had a crappy car.

"I uh....that's a very good question." He looked away sheepishly and scratched the back of his neck. "My car is an absolute piece of crap. If I even made it to my job and back without breaking down it'd be a miracle."

Lia brushed her hair away from her eyes, a large thick coat obscuring her body and face. The red was definitely her most identifiable trait, but she didn't hide that part. Lots of people had crazily coloured hair. She looked back and fourth, leaning back on her bench and simply watching. She knew Vanessa was nearby, but she didn't know who she was with.

John walked out of the racket after collecting some money from the shop owner, he then got into his truck with few men and then drove off through the city to the family's house, when he got there he got out of his vehicle and then walked inside the house and up to the second floor where his room was, he walked inside his room and then sat down onto the bed as he grabbed a remote from a end table near the bed and then flicked the TV on, he then got up and walked over to the closet, he then began changing into more casual clothes, he walked over to the window and then noticed that it is a evening. He then sat back in his bed underneath the blanket, he then looked at his phone and then sent a message to a contact named Lia, "Get some info on what Vanessa is doing, don't get noticed." he then continued to watch the TV. (@Hansaki)

Lia's phone buzzed, her glancing at the message. Meh. Vanessa was her friend anyway, and anyone who wanted her to stalk her was in for a nasty surprise. She shut her phone off, relaxing for a bit longer. She then turned it back on and replied with Where are you?

John looked at his phone and then sent a message replying to Lia "Why does it matter? Anyway I am at family's house, father is sleeping." he then put his phone away and then continued to watch the TV, he was watching news on the TV.

She pursed her lips. Her dad was her boss, sure, but even she knew he meant bad news. She approached the small group finally, clearing her throar.

"Well for now get a rental and replace it's plates with your own. Then just don't crash it, or get pulled over." She said grabbing up her bags and readying to leave. You have to be there by 8 o'clock, don't be late, the directions and your backstory are in the files I gave you." She said nodding to the ones on his counter. "Any questions?"

( @Hansaki ....what group is she approaching?)

"No no, I think I've got it. I'll get a nice rental car, memorize those files well." He sighed. Picking them up and flipping through them. "Thank you so much for this Vanessa. I...I really don't know how I would have ever even gotten along without you."
