❝ RULES. ❞

FIRST. hello, hello~ this is the second time this roleplay has been posted on rpnation, the first time was back in 2020 when my name was komorebi! it ended up kind of crashing & burning because i didn't know what i was doing but now that i'm back on the website and trying to prioritize writing again in my life, i'd like to try this again! i hope you guys are interested!!

SECOND. if it wasn't already obvious, this will be a roleplay that follows dark themes. all the characters are criminals and most activities they will be partaking in is criminal in nature. there are vampiric themes, too, and a lot of violence. we'll be following all of rpn's rules, of course, but i ask for comfort's sake that you be eighteen years of age or older.

THIRD. be prepared to plot and collaborate! sure, the story is my idea, but i don't like the idea of being in some kind of position of power or like i'm the "leader" ... i want this to be more of a casual, sort of sandbox style roleplay which will require a lot of collaboration and discussion on everyone's part. i want to see relationships, character growth, crazy twists and turns, and that's only going to happen if we all get into it.

FOURTH. this will be an advanced roleplay, with correct grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure a minimum requirement. i would like to see a good couple paragraphs from each post.

FIFTH. i don't expect everyone to post super quickly and constantly. but i do want those who join to be dedicated. if you're interested but you don't think you can stick around for a while and at least write two or three posts a week, i ask you to reconsider.

SIXTH. there are only six roles and they will not be given on a first come, first served basis. i'll base everything off of character sheets and give the roles to those who i think bring the most creativity to their applications. due to the limited amount of roles, everyone will only be playing one character. if this roleplay does well, i will probably re-open applications to accept seven more people to play the vampyrs.

SEVENTH. i have nothing to add here i just wanted a seventh rule cuz it's on brand hehe

❝ LITTLE NEVERLAND. ❞

—PREMISE.
new tokyo, USA, the year 2109. the largest city on the east coast and the center for all things bad, dirty, and illegal. but, if you play your cards right, it's also your ticket to immortality. we're not talking figuratively here, baby, we're talking real, live immortality in liquid form. a drug they call peter pan, which - if injected into your veins once a month - will keep your body from aging. it's not addictive, but you're really gonna enjoy being young forever. (plus, once you reach 100 or so, you won't really want to stop taking it for obvious reasons). you can get this drug anywhere in the world if you look real hard, but new tokyo is a goldmine. better yet? little neverland - a few blocks down from chinatown - where the whole economy revolves around the buying & selling of peter pan and the cops never fail to look the other way. it's lawless here, dog eat dog, every man for himself. unchecked by any real laws, little neverland is ruled by the lost boys (and girls), a gang of immortals with trucks full of peter pan and pockets full of cash. they are at the heart of neverland and, thus, at the heart of everything that matters.

little neverland is the home of any other illegal industry you can imagine, all of which is only acceptable here because everybody is so gosh darn hungry for their next hit of peter pan. every member of the lost boys is named after one of the seven deadly sins and rules over their own sector of criminal activity: illegal biomechatronic implants, hacking, gambling, gladiator battles, bounty hunting, brothels, and the bartering of peter pan.

the times, however, they are a-changing. a new gang has just come into town - the vampyrs - and they've brought with them a horrifying new strain of peter pan which does something nasty to the people who take it. it's more powerful than the previous strain: you only need a small dose every three months and, if you take enough, it can even reverse the aging process. only problem is that it's creating a permanent insatiable desire for blood in its victims - making the edgy name "vampyrs" suddenly seem pretty literal. people are dying. which wouldn't be that big of a deal, but nobody's getting any profit from it! and the vampyrs are slowly taking all the business in town. and if that all wasn't bad enough, two of the lost boys accidentally seem to have taken a dose of the vampiric strain of peter pan. after some careful consideration, the lost boys have come to the conclusion that something really ought to be done about that.

inspirations: cyberpunk 2077, alita: battle angel, vampire the masquerade

—ROLES.
GLUTTONY — Alice ( coeur coeur ). the big boss, the big peter pan dealer, and the overseer of all the other lost boys. she keeps track of how little neverland is running and steps in when things are getting just a bit too crazy. she's a friendly enough lady, popular with the public, and has her bar, the black horse, which is the go-to hang out spot for the lost boys. every once in a while she closes the place down to have a private meeting with just the gang and, after hearing the news that pride and greed are dealing with a special case of vampirism, it looks like another meeting is about to be called.

WRATH — nightly gladiator battles are the big events in little neverland and, besides peter pan, are probably the lost boys' biggest money maker. forget dog fights, forget wrestling or mma - the only fight worth having is a fight to the death, man against man. these fights are named after the replica colosseum arena that they're held in, as well as the fact that only one of the gladiators gets to make it out alive. wrath works closely with sloth in biomechatronic implants. you're not gonna last long in the ring if you don't make some modifications to your body and no one's allowed in if they haven't. the idea is you spend a few hundred thousand bucks on some implants, jump in the arena, win (while butchering your implants), run back to sloth and spend your winnings on repairs, and get right back in that ring for round two. the cycle works. wrath, a cyborg, oversees the arena and its gladiators and is considered by all to be the most bloodthirsty of the lost boys.

LUST — lust rules over exactly what you would think lust rules over. brothels are rampant in little neverland - hey, gotta have some fun somehow - and lust controls it all. their brothels are considered some of the best in the world to work for, as it's a known fact lust takes care of their workers. this line of work is not one of the safest in the world, but none of their workers have ever gone missing or wound up dead, and they're some of the richest and most sought after girls & boys in the industry. that's because lust only accepts the best of the best and won't allow the hard work they put in to be for nothing. clients who have dared to lay a hand on one of lust's workers end up on envy's bounty list - and that means they wind up dead within 24 hours. lust is considered one of the most empathetic & charming of the lost boys, but also the least trustworthy.

PRIDE — you don't get to gamble at one of pride's tables unless you're betting something big. pride owns the myriad casino, the classiest joint in trashy little neverland, and only the richest of the rich get in. the wager has to be vials of peter pan or something considered of equal value, but never money. winners have received just about anything you can imagine: six live elephants, mansions, organs, a man's first born son, temporary ownership of a country, everything. pride's been living the high life but, oh, how the mighty fall. they made the mistake of taking a little sip of the vampiric devil juice and have now found themselves in a bit of a kerfuffle.

SLOTH — sloth might be a tad lazy, but there's a reason they're considered the brilliant mad scientist of the group. sloth deals in the hush hush world of biomechatronic implants. no one is supposed to modify their body for their enjoyment or gain, by law you're only supposed to get modifications in a hospital and only if your doctor approves of it. but where's the fun in that? sloth can make you anything you can imagine - they're more machine than man themselves at this point - and it'll only cost you an arm and a leg. sloth does most of their surgeries from the comfort of their home and you can only get their address if you know the right people. except for gladiators... sloth will come out of hiding to do some work on wrath's fighters down at the arena. they don't like to leave their home for too much else, though.

ENVY — everyone knows you don't want to end up on envy's list. that's all there is to it. envy is the law in little neverland and they work through bounties. if you do something to wrong one of the lost boys, you end up on the bounty list and envy (and their hunters) come for you. in over 100 years, there hasn't been a single case where a criminal has managed to survive longer than 24 hours after being written on that list. envy's been nicknamed the lone ranger: their line of work and their southern accent probably have a little something to do with that. envy might not be as frightening in appearance as, say, wrath, but nobody would object if you were to say envy was the scariest member of the lost boys.

GREED — there's a lot you can do as a hacker, especially in a world dominated by technology. greed once made the whole world black out for ten minutes and they refuse to reveal how they got it done. they are the richest of the lost boys, due in part to the fact that they can hack atm machines and banks, as well as due to the fact that they're so greedy with their money that they refuse to ever buy anything for themselves. roommates with sloth, and almost just as smart (without the side order of madness), greed is less of a homebody and tends to do most of what needs to be done outside the house. they are by far the more extroverted one, which may be their downfall, as they ended up involved in a little bit of the vampiric peter pan action at pride's casino and is currently dealing with the consequences of their actions.

thank you everyone! <3 i'm so happy this is getting interest!
i'll post a cs/applications thread tonight after i get this dumb essay i'm writing done. ;)

BLK BLK history and world-building would be a lot of fun to discuss and get into all together. i haven't done a whole bunch of world-building myself outside of new tokyo. but there's no reason we need to be confined to the one city!
