Multiple Settings .

I like the idea of the magical beast breeding. I'm much more knowledgable about Pokemon than the Magical Beasts series though (I've only read the Harry Potter series and that was a long time ago). I like the urban setting, but alien world works too. I'd love to try this RP out with you

Well hello there! I see you’ve got quite a few replies but I would love to flesh out your idea of a North American Harry Potter AU! I love the idea and think we could really get s good story going out of it! Let me know!

Pitch!

Some say magic is dead. I say hooey, Magic is alive and well, it's our connection to it that's dead. See, a long time ago the Holy See figured out you need channels to use magic ... Y'know, CHANNELS, uh ... Wands, orbs, staves, scepter, amulets, stuff like that.

And of course magic won't just do what you tell it, you've gotta know "the arte, " but that's another matter altogether. As I was saying, during the inquisition, agents were dispatched to specifically seek out channel makers. By the time the witch trials rolled around, there wasn't anyone left who knew how to craft new channels, and it became a simple matter of rounding up those that remained.

Over the years the very idea of magic has been turned into a joke, and the number of working channels in circulation has dwindled to a few hundred thousand, scattered across the world, though more might be lost or locked away. Practitioners work in secret, often living as hermits or strange outcasts, hoping to avoid any public attention. A reasonable measure when the wrong tweet or Facebook post could bring Templars to your door.

So you can imagine the kind of calamity that occurs when a channel is passed, by inheritance or estate sale, to someone who knows nothing of its power ... or the dangers of simply possessing it.
