Fennapples

[[Welcome to Iyuron's OOC chat.]]

Here's the place for questions to be asked, conversations to be developed, and ideas to bloom. Please keep in mind that the host [Fenny] is not always online to attend to each and every message instantly.

Iyuron's main plot, whilst it certainly revolves around the conflict between the alliances/nations, it's still a work in progress. Therefore, all opinions and ideas will be taken into an account and discussed. Never fear to ask/suggest/comment. Also, never forget to tell the host/creator the role you want so it's properly written and reserved.

Summary
Iyuron is a land known by the presences of Cores, magical sources of energy that provide most of the Kingdoms of the continent. There are nine Kingdoms from which five have Cores and three do not. These domains are named: Gisal, Heca, Dothia, Dundee, Alaral (all posses Cores), Somor, Gaca and Dabia (Coreless).

There are four alliances, from which three (the ones that are usually counted) are formed by Kingdoms with Cores. That would be: The Main Core Alliance (Gisal and Heca), the Periferic Alliance (Dothia and Alaral), the Mutual Alliance (Dundee and Hotor. The only alliance were a Kingdom with a Core and a Coreless domain) and finally, the Coreless Trinity (Somor, Dabia and Gaca).

If you wish more information about a specific Kingdom, just search through the document and read about it. If there’s more questions, doubt not to ask the host (AKA: Me.)

Official document
Iyuron

In the document it says that the land of Iyuron is kept alive through the magical energy of these 'cores', magical constructs scattered throughout the land that produce magical energy. Maybe the type of energy produced by such cores should influence the land in some way. Particularly, all the surroundings of the western island of Alaral's core are 'decaying'. Perhaps the energy that this core produces could be 'negative', or 'necromantic' energy, causing the island to constantly defend against the undead created by the very core that is keeping their land alive.

Just a thought, though.

Cores, in that aspect, do influence the land around it and maintain those lands fully dependent of their remaining energy (Such as the members of the Main Alliance and 'Periferic' Alliance). However, Kingdoms that have learned to manage the raw resources without the enhancement of the Cores. Hence the prosperous lands of the Coreless Trinity. But! Your idea of negative effects from decaying Cores is quite interesting to put into practice. I don't know about undead just as of yet, less when the roleplay is yet to start. Although, as the plot progresses, it can be a thing to happen. Though for now, decaying Cores would bring negative effects with the explanation that, in need for 'more energy' it'd attempt to drain the environment's to restore itself.

Can you tell us about the current available races? Or was it in the document and I didn't see it, which is possible since I just flew through it and you may have updated it since I thoroughly read it last.

Information
[[Current available species/races for Playable Characters.]]
  • Human.
  • Elven Kin.
  • Beast-Kin. -- Humanoid-looking beings who take certain characteristics of a single animal. They do not take an animal's full form, nor display a anthropomorphic version of such.
  • Witches/Warlocks.-- Due their increasing numbers, those who are holders of magic (who aren't elves) are taken as a competent species.
  • Centaurs/Naga/Merfolk.-- All those who have at least half of their body like a human.
  • Coreins [Made just for Iyuron]. -- A species who only live in Iyuron. Their appearance are much like a human's, although there may exist Core-Elven hybrids. This species is characterized to be the only one to be capable of extracting and handling a Core's energy. They're usually contracted by Kings and Elite, sent to work as 'moneylenders' along with humans.

Would more animal-ish species, such as unicorns and griffins, be allowed? I was hoping to make a griffin character myself, but I'll settle for a naga or maybe a beastkin if they aren't playable.

Information
[[Monster/Creature information]]
Although Iyuron has a great variety of species -from the traditional monsters found in traditional fantasy settings, to unique creatures only found in Iyruon-, there will be a limited action of beasts such as dragons and giants, categorizing them as rare and, for the most part, unplayable. Only those with a proper reason and purpose will be allowed to control creatures of such dimensions.

I'll need you to specify? Would they be most beast than human? If so, I wouldn't really feel to inclined to accept. But if they have just a few characteristics, such as wings/tails/etc, then I see no problems.

So her I am guys! Also, I've decided to be a sailor of Alaral acting as a sort of raider/privateer for the Queen if that's alright.

Yeah, I was thinking of a full-on animal, but I can definitely see why they wouldn't be allowed seeing as that could lead to some issues with them being relatively overpowered. I was hoping the griffin character could be a royal pet of sorts for pretty much any of the kings/queens, but if that wouldn't be allowed I'd rather just play a beastkin working as a messenger for the royalty.

One more question - could, say, a naga be a witch, or are witches/warlocks their own species?

Information
[[Biographic information]]
In order to have enough information about each character, the format should hold the following information:
  • Name.
  • Age.
  • Species.
  • Gender.
  • Nation.
  • Role. [Specifically]
  • Overall personality.
  • Pro/Anti war. [[There are characters, such those who wish for a change that would take the way of violence, thus they'd be pro-war]]
  • Picture/physical description.

It'd be preferred if you go for beast kin, so it's easier for your character to hold an important role within the roleplay. And, of course, the species are divided-- however there are hybrids. If a naga were to capable of sorcery, then it'd be much limited than a 'pure' witch/warlock.
