Realistic or Modern 3, 2, 1... There They Are -- Still Accepting

Nanami was focused on her work until she heard someone sit next to her. Her wrist twitched a bit and she ignored it. She continued doodling her crappy drawings and not paying attention. She sighed and started humming a tune that she knew all to well as she drew the figures on her paper. She smiled sadly to herself as she drew.

Class was getting closer and closer to the end. He hated first days and Mondays in particular. Nothing was ever accomplished on days like this anyway so why did they have to stay for the whole class? At least they got extra time between classes since they were far apart. He passed the time by talking to a couple people around him. At least at this point the teacher was done talking, they just had to wait for the bell.

Later the bell finally came and Damon got up from his seat as people started to fill out of the classroom and into the hallway. He had math next and the thought killed him. He hated math. Not that they would do any math since it was the first day, but he hated it none the less. He wated for more people to clear out. No need to get caught up in the mass of bodies in a small hall.

Kris glanced over to his side and saw student beginning to fill up the class. He sighed sadly, but managed to keep his charming smile, earning looks from the other girls in the class. The boy wished he had his clarinet with him, but he had hidden it under his bed back at his dorm. Mentally kicking himself, he stared at the teacher who was finally arriving. Finally..

Nanami heard a sigh but didn't bother to look. Other people before her timer ended were none of her concern. She sighed to herself and kept drawing the crappy person on her paper. She was never one for art with her hands, but she could always doodle. She continued humming the tune as she drew. She moved on to a girl vaulting, but it looked more like a misshapen potato.

Kris looked at the teacher who had entered the room and pulled out his textbook. He was prepared for the very boring events that were bound to happen next. Honestly, he didn't get the point of this class. He thought History hated him. (and wanted him dead.)

Nanami didn't even look up. She never would. Soul mate, not yet according to her timer. She sighed, tracing the lines again. She sighed a bit, glancing at her timer. It was still way far from being her time, but she could wait.

Kris doodled on an empty piece of paper for the whole entire class. The boy couldn't fathom how the others survived in this type of environment. Doesn't it kill them? he thought. The only others he could notice that enjoyed the class were the smart-alecks.

Nanami shrugged. She continued to trace the potato. She had never had someone help her, but her soul mate would. But he obviously was not it considering that her timer was far from over. She sighed a bit, wishing it would get to 0 already before continuing to trace that potato.

The boy resorted to staring at his watch for minutes on end.

Nanami sighed. She could not draw anything for the life of her. She sighed, dropping her pencil on the desk. She looked up at the teacher, who though she was taking notes. Like heck she would take notes on something stupid.

Kris then again started tapping his fingers on the table, just to make the time go by.

Nanami sighed to herself and kept humming, drumming her fingers on the table. She wanted to get out of this class so badly.
Jenna looked up seeing Jackson walk in late and she started laughing. Quickly she covered her mouth and the skin near her timer started throbbing. "Oww!" She yelped grabbing her wrist. She caught the attention of the teacher by yelping. "S-s-sorry.." She stuttered and ran out of the room. Jenna never had her timer throb and it hurt a lot. Was this a sign that she was near her soulmate or was it just her skin?
Jenna got herself together and walked back in the room. She slowly walked back to her seat and remembered what her mom said before she died "don't touch anyone or make eye contact unless it's family." She took the rules of the timer seriously but she still tried talking. Jenna turned and made eye contact with Jackson's chest. "Hello. I'm phone girl, or you can call me Jenna" She smiled warmly but never looked Jackson in his eyes.
IGNORE THAT I TALKED TO JACKSON.

Jackson felt his wrist tingle as he paid no attention to it really, until it started to really hurt. He groaned then exhaled as the pain had went away momentarily. That was a sign for something. Could his soulmate be in the same room he was in? Or was it the female, named Jenna aka phone girl? He smiled towards her then leaned over and stuck his index finger underneath her chin so that he could lift her head up and meet her eyes.

"You have very beautiful eyes." Jackson spoke while removing his finger from underneath his chin as Miss Adams was standing right behind him. "And I look beautiful in my birthday suit. Can we get on with class?" She said while walking away from the pair. Jackson opened his notebook so that he could write Jenna a note.

Please, meet me after class.

Jackson took the note and sat it on the corner of Jenna's desk, anxiously waiting for her to pick it up and respond.

Jenna had a larger pain in her wrist and she looked over at Jackson's timer and thought to herself "Why do we have the same times..." The pain eventually went away as soon as she was only paying attention to the class. Suddenly Jackson lifted up her chin and her timer stopped counting down the seconds. "Thanks.." She looked down at her timer and thought "Why did this thing stop?!". For awhile she just paid attention to the class then Jenna looked at the corner of the school desk and picked up the piece of paper. She smiled and picked up a pen:

Maybe.

She stuck the piece of paper back at the corner of her desk as the bell rang. Jenna ran up to the front of the class and grabbed her phone. She walked around the corner and waited for Jackson to meet her. Taking out her phone she saw 4 text messages two from her boyfriend, one from her grandma and one from a store. She opened up the texts from her boyfriend and texted him the words "I'm sorry but we're over." She turned off the screen on her phone and waited for Jackson.

When most of the people had finally made their way out Damon followed. The halls were a little less crowded and he still had plenty of time to make it to his math class. The two classes weren't far from each other and he was just glad to get the day moving along. It seemed time went by slower the closer his timer got to zero. Maybe it was like this for everyone? Maybe thinking about the timer so much was just getting to him? Whichever it was he needed something to take his mind off of it.

He didn't have practice again until after school and that was still a couple hours away. For now he just had to remember where his next class was. He was sure he had it down. When he did find it he was one of the last to arrive but he still made it before the bell. So he took a seat and waited for another rousing round of introductions.
