Nation Building 2028 A World of Strife (Modern)

So can someone explain the Commonwealth?
A NATO-esque organization formed by the U.K, and suggested by India; it is essentially an organization in which only former Commonwealth nations, and smaller, weaker nations can join. The leading members are Australia, Canada, Great Britain, and India. Since lets face it, Australia and Canada would be all about this.

Then of course, everybody else would be standard members.

The common goals would include;

-Military aid and alliances between all Commonwealth Countries.

-Development, and economical support between all Commonwealth countries.

-Technological advancement, and production support between all Commonwealth Countries.

-Free trade between all members.

In the real world the commonwealth is a group of former colonies of the UK who come together every few years to take part in the commonwealth games - basically the Olympics except no USA and China.

@Archon If it's already formed why wouldn't these countries be apart of it?
I made my post about its formation; and the announcement, I was assuming the mod post would mention just how much of the Commonwealth joined. Since it seems a little Op to just say; "Organisation! Yay! Now all these countries join and I can hez POWAH!"

well would it function the same way as it does now or would it be more like GB is in control of these countries?

No, it'd be like NATO, or even the EU in some ways, GB doesn't control any of them. They all remain independent.

Although they'd probably have the most influence; but that's obvious.

@Archon well if that's the case then i'd be fine with most of the current countries (except South Africa) as long as they remain independent and make their own decisions.
