Rules for Characters:

* not all will be accepted (a like = accepted); casual RP = less strict schedule, but still requires moderate-length posts and attention to detail. Plot is the most important, diversity is key, etc etc.

* No god-modding, exceptionally unbeatable characters. Death can occur and will occur, at the will of the character; but try to be as realistic as possible.

* Try to get an array of ages, genders, backgrounds, races, sexualities, circumstances, etc. Especially ages, this is even less about the young 20 year olds and more about the 40 year olds who were 20 when the apocalypse began. I think that it is a very interesting look into the future.

We can OOC chat the settings, weather, time, etc. etc.

Pre-established relationships are a-okay! Just say something about a character if you read something in their history or advertise they have a friend/lover/sibling/child that someone can create.

Appearance Description :

He stands at 6'1 with a thin hollow frame, in his old age. He has a slight hunching posture, but only in the way his neck droops cautiously. His eyes are a mix of blue and green, with a slight hint of yellow; they seem to change with the light, and his hair (while it used to be more blonde) is turning white now; he is beginning to lose hair; but not just yet. His tattoos: Government issued identification of his work with the original scientists his ranking being one of the highest on his neck, on his wrists is the work camp identification of three different camps (over the span of 13 years), a brotherhood 'prison tattoo' done in the camps on his chest, and his wife's name right above it to remember her. He has many scars on his back, legs, arms, and face from surviving the worst of the apocalypse.

- Incredibly intelligent, resourceful, and experienced. However, although anything but senile, comes off as brash, belligerent, and selfish; can be blatantly rude, intolerant, and isolated. Suffers PTSD/Depression, but refuses to go to mandatory psychiatric and medical evaluations (despite being a medical man himself) and refuses medication prescribed.
- Pre-Apocalypse:
  
  Well-renowned bio-engineering and medical major; working on medical research, as well as the actual treatment of patients. He was the top of his class, an exceptional mind, and eventually recruited to work under the government when he continued to pursue education until he wasn't able to be any smarter a man. He is a man of science, extremely gifted in mathematics, logistics, and science.
  
  During the Apocalypse:
  
  He was recruited to work under the government's hunt for a cure, which kept him 'alive' in the time period men like him would have died. Seeing the corruption hardened him, but he still had his wife. They conceived three daughters before they were separated, and he became the biggest 'badass' father of the apocalypse; raising three little girls to be as intelligent and gifted as he could in their circumstances. Eventually he was separated from his daughters and wife, kidnapped by an anarchist group. Instead of being executed, he ended up in a death camp where he had to work like a slave for a few years. He was transferred through cannibalistic camps, hierarchical camps, and cult religion camps; three in total, he bears the marks of all three. Finally, the government's International Peace Army overthrew the camp and rescued all survivors; then relocated him to the daughter they got in contact first.
  
  After the Apocalypse:
  
  He is a very well-respected veteran, bearing the marks of the most corrupt work/death camp, the government's identification (indicating he may know a cure to the plague), and many scars accumulated over the years. His body has taken too many beatings, although strong, it is not what it used to be.

Has a tattoo on her ankle from a pre-supercity 'bond'; a sisterhood of sorts.

- History
- Just like her father, she is very intuitive and intelligent. She has a logical, consistent, mind that is mathematical and well-suited for the new way of life. Unlike her father, she is gentle despite what she has suffered; she is a strong mother, albeit a stern one, and has the stubbornness of a mule. She can be scary, but since she has adopted her new life in the supercity she mellowed out immediately.
- Pre Apocalypse: She was a teenager, living a normal life. Her relationship with her father was shaky due to the fact he was introverted, devoted to his work, and never there. Her relationship with her mother was also unstable because she was like her father, she kept to herself and her studies.
  
  During Apocalypse: Luckily, she was able to care for her siblings and be strong. Staying in the labs and learning as much a higher education as she could pursue, eventually it ended up being her taking care of her sisters; her father was taken by anarchists to a camp, and her mother by a cult. The kids escaped, that was the day she first killed.
  
  Post- Apocalypse: She got married earlier to a man, her boyfriend in the apocalypse, who was shot in the back of the head after their home was broken into. This was when they lived in the most run-down shack they could've, and anarchy reigned. She had two children with him, one died from exposure in the winter, her remaining son is now 6. She was relocated to a new city to work as a doctor, and that was where she met her girlfriend and her children, they live together. She was contacted three years ago by the Government and given her father back, who also lives with her family.

She is covered in many scars from days that she spent in a gang outside of any supercities. Her most prominent scar is the one over her lip.

- Jackie is a very carefree woman, someone who is very go-with-the-flow and would rather ignore issues and pretend they aren't there than deal with them. However, she is sweet and wants nothing more than for the people around her to be happy, even if that means sacrificing her own happiness. She has a fear of physical intimacy and PTSD.
- As a young girl, Jacklyn lived in the suburbs. She was in the lap of luxury, living expensively and having been on a vacation every summer since she was four. Her relationship with her parents was strong and wonderful. When the world began to crumble, her parents decided to lock themselves into their house and isolate them. Besides herself, her younger brother, and her parents, she didn't see any other humans for a year. When she finally did meet someone, she fell in love with her. They would sneak out together at night, and one time when they got caught, she told her parents about her feelings. Her father told her she was disgusting, and that night, Jacklyn stole some supplies and fled with the girl, whose name was Ruby.
  
  She was only thirteen, whereas Ruby was sixteen. Ruby took her to a gang of sorts, and a nine relatively uneventful years later, when she was twenty-two a man took advantage of Jacklyn and impregnated her. Ruby got into a fight with him when she found out, and ended up being murdered. That was when Jacklyn fled to the nearest supercity, where she gave birth and eventually met her wife Meredith.

Appearance Description : Although being 5'7, Arthur is a tiny thing, only weighing 105lbs. He has a muscular dystrophy that started when he was ten, and makes him generally weaker, and it will just continue to eat away at his muscles. He has quite a few bodymods, donning a septum, stretched ears, snake bites, an eyebrow piercing in his left brow, and an industrial bar in his right ear. His hands are rough and calloused.
- Personality
- History
- Arthur, through and through, is a music lover. He loves to listen to music, and even knows how to play guitar, and he often writes his own songs, but to sum Arthur up in one word would be very simple, and the word would be cowardly. He has been quite shaken up throughout his life, and because of that, has become quite fearful and timid. Because of past traumas, he has developed both PTSD and Borderline Personality Disorder, and sometimes suffers delusions that he is a prophet. He is very naive and very trusting, which more often than not lands him in trouble. He loves children and is very good with them. He loves to be pampered.
- Artie was born in the supercity. Soon after he was born, his mother realized that she was a lesbian, and left her husband, taking Arthur with her. Arthur still got to see his father, going for visits. When Artie was four, he was sexually abused by his father in one of these visitations. After that, he stopped going to see him. This was the reason for his PTSD, and a contributing factor to his BPD. All through his childhood he had imaginary friends instead of real ones, and began learning the guitar at age eight. It was tricky to do so, since he broke strings a lot and those were hard to find in the post-apocalyptic setting. But he managed nonetheless, and he is a very talented musician to this day.
  
  Growing up, he often found himself in the wrong crowd, stealing and lying and cheating, and one time he got on the wrong side of someone so bad that they murdered his mother. Since then, he has been homeless in the supercity, sometimes living with friends until they kick him out. He usually just hangs around the richer parts of the city, hoping that someone will take pity on him and take him home with them.
  
  He never came out to his parents as being transgender, but now that he's on his own, he introduces himself as Arthur, instead of Aryana.

Appearance Description :

Bulked up over the last 20 years, stands at about 5'10, leaner build than his boyfriend. Piercing blue eyes, weather-worn tanned skin, black hair (graying now), with many scars and the kind of muscle that is built up from labor. The photo is not very accurate. He has scruff, looks more like a lumberjack, and has the back of his hair shaved shorter with the top longer. Extremely calloused hands, noticeably scarred, some of his teeth slightly yellowed and evidently has had his nose broken once.
- Personality
- History
- Used to be trigger-happy, irrational, and uncalculated in all of his movements. In the last 20 years, he has learned to survive; creating a nearly poplar opposite today. He is hardened, now, and his movements are hard to read in his eyes. However, he still suffers depression, PTSD, and needs constant reassurance. Is slightly withdrawn from children, but they seem to know his heart is in the right place; he treats kids older than they are. Still gets angry easily.
- Pre Apocalypse: Had an extremely hard time accepting himself, had a crush on his childhood best friend, a manic depressive father who went out of the picture and a mother who he adored with all his heart. She had to work to support him, resulting in him staying with his emotionally abusive Uncle, this fueled his self esteem issues and nonacceptance of himself. He learned to shoot, to hunt, (although he wasn't good at it back then), and grew up in the deep south of Tennessee (with an accent he still has).
  
  During Apocalypse: Went on a cross-country journey, to find his childhood friend, in the process saw the horrors of what the world was. He lost his best friends, his apocalypse family, and somehow ended up with a few of them settling in to one of the many homes.
  
  Post Apocalypse: Still lives far from the Government, extremely untrusting of them, and wary of the supercities. He has a very good thing going, so long as they aren't found out.
