All panic, no disco
Hello all! My name is Raven and I'm brand new to this site, and so you'll have to forgive me whilst I learn the layout and how to navigate. So first, a bit about me: I'm currently nineteen years old and prefer that my rp partners are at least seventeen years of age. I've been rping I would say for about seven or eight years, and typically I stick to a descriptive or semi-lit style.
I don't currently have a writing sample available but would say that on average my replies vary from 250-500 words. Of course, this number can be larger, depending on how interested I am in a roleplay or how much my partner writes. Typically, I do my best to match my partner's length but occasionally will find myself struggling to write the same amount.
It should be noted that I’m not overly active on here and I’d say I’m usually on 3-5 days a week, discord replies may be quicker but either way I may not be the best choice if slow replies are a pet peeve of yours. I should also mention that I take on several rps at once, hence my slow replies at times.
- This thread is specifically dedicated to original non-fandom rps, if you wish for fandom rps I do have another thread listed for that.
- I lean heavily towards preferring MxF pairings, where I portray the female character. However I am also open to FxF pairings. I unfortunately don’t do MxM unless we are doubling up.
- Adding on to the previous rule, I prefer not to double up if it can be avoided; however if you’d really prefer to and would be uncomfortable otherwise, it can be done.
- You don’t have to be super descriptive with your replies, however, at least a paragraph or two would be preferred. No one-liners, please.
- When it comes to character faceclaims, I’m fine with both animated ones and realistic ones. I will generally use whichever kind my partner does.
- Please be patient, I tend to be a slow replier at times. You can remind me once a week if you’d like, as I often do the same. Do not spam me though. I would say on average I try my best to reply at least once a week, but sometimes you’ll get a response every few days or sometimes after a few weeks. Communication is key and if you’re worried about me losing interest don’t be afraid to reach out!
- If you've read this far, let me know what your current favourite song is!
- Try to avoid ghosting if possible. If you get busy and can no longer continue or are no longer interested, let me know, please.
- That being said, if I do not hear from you in 1-2 weeks I will likely send a notif or ask how you're doing. I don't mind if you take a long time to reply to me, so long as I hear back from you about what's going on and when you feel as though you'll be able to reply. If I hear nothing from you with no explanation after a month I will assume you are no longer interested and will leave our RP and/or conversation.
- Lastly, feel free to talk to me OORP as well as suggest ideas and plots for the rp. I often struggle coming up with ideas so your input would be more than welcome!

Plot 1:
Virtual reality dictates daily life. Status and currency are awarded to the best players; illegal street games of Risk, matches between players outside of government-sanctioned tournaments, are major underground sources of income. When two countries go to war, the result is new and incredible: soldiers fight in VR instead of in real life, bombing the virtual landscape and targeting virtual currency sources, raiding each other’s virtual strongholds, even meeting in scheduled places for PvP brawls that will sap losers of their virtual currency and even hard-earned gear.
Muse A is a top player from a feared raiding guild that works for the military and leaves a path of digital destruction in its wake. They’ve ascended to the top of society as a venerated virtual soldier, attending expensive soirees in real life and then fighting massive, over-powered battles in-world.
Their only rival is Muse B, a mysterious raider from the opposing side, and there are rumors that even their comrades aren’t sure of their real-life identity. In fact, Muse B is a hacktivist who knows Muse A in real life. In order to fight against their own government, they’re using the identity of someone from the opposing country to fight on their side. So far as anyone knows, Muse B’s just a programmer who works as a bug-fixer at the firm that takes care of Oceania’s virtual universe. The penalty for dissension is virtual death, being permanently banned from anything digital–essentially exile from human contact in the modern world. Is it just paranoia, or do Muse A’s suspicions about the enigmatic raider seem to be growing? Are they really chasing Muse B through VR or are their repeated mid-raid meetings coincidental? Are they spending an unusual amount of time visiting Muse B after work, or are they just looking for some peace from the celebrity paparazzi? The race is on, and Muse B might just have to resort to taking the violence to real life.
Plot 3:
In a future world where human beings no longer have the ability to reproduce without the aid of scientific engineering (due to decades of exposure to harsh environmental pollutants and secret government initiatives to stave off the population to preserve resources), the kiss has become the highest form of physical intimacy. Kisses are reserved for your Cherished One–a mate who is assigned by a local agency based on extensive compatibility evaluations given when someone reaches the age of 18. Embracing someone who is not your Cherished One in this special way is a crime punishable by law, with serious repercussions for both people caught in the act. Those who are caught betraying their Cherished One can be sent to an internment facility for varying amounts of time depending on the severity of the ‘offense’ and may forfeit their right to participate in an annual lottery that decides which couples will be permitted to bear children through in vitro means. There are couples who are rumored to have defied the law and abandoned their Cherished One for another, but little is known of ‘the Disgraced’ as they are called because they must live apart from society in order to avoid the reach of the authorities. Muse A and Muse B have just taken their compatibility evaluations.
Plot 4:
The year is 2124. Due to extremely limited resources and overpopulation of the planet, once people reach a specific age they must be euthanized. Upon a person’s Xth birthday, people must report to a sleep facility where they will be put to sleep by a sweet-smelling toxin. The only people exempt from this fate are enforcers of the law, who are in charge of tracking down those who attempt to escape. Muse A is an infamous enforcer with a nearly impeccable record of captures, and Muse B is a rebellious citizen who has just turned of age. Muse B has learned of a secret sanctuary for people who have successfully escaped and continue to live out their days in an underground society. They assemble only the bare essentials for survival and begin the journey, but with Muse A hot on their trail, will Muse B be able to evade them long enough to join the handful of others who have successfully disappeared?
Plots 5-7:
- Muse A is one of the first of a small group of humans to transfer in to a formerly all-vampire boarding school. Muse A and their human counterparts are selected to attend this school not only for their impressive GPAs but also because of their rare blood types. Tuition for the human students will be paid by means of bi-weekly blood draws administered by the school nurse; this blood will be rationed and used as nutrition for the predominantly-vampire student body. For the safety of the humans, vampire students are by no means allowed to drink directly from their classmates.. or at least they’re not supposed to.
- Muse A is enrolled at a prestigious spy training academy. The only way for students to get in to this school is to be recommended by their parents who have attended; the location of the school moves each year to keep the academy a secret from outside threats. Muse A meets their training partner, Muse B, during first day orientation and they are informed that they must be paired until graduation. Each day they take part in combat classes, tech classes where they learn to create and utilize spy gadgets, escape simulations, physical and mental fitness exams, etc. Students are informed that their final exams will consist of a field mission that is truly life/death, so they better get along with their partner.
- A mix-up in paperwork gets Muse A sent to a same sex boarding school for the opposite sex (e.g. a boy is sent to an all-girls school). Muse A pretends to be a member of the opposite sex in order to stay at the school, hoping they don’t get discovered.
Plot 8:
Muse A is a hunter who travels the country in order to extinguish supernatural threats. When Muse A gets news of yet another small town being terrorized by a murderous creature, they pack up their things and make haste to the next destination. Muse A settles into town quickly and gets to work investigating these mysterious, grisly deaths. Despite Muse A’s best efforts, over the course of several weeks, they keep coming up short of catching the culprit, unaware that Muse B is watching their every move.
Option 1: Muse B is a supernatural creature, the same kind as the killer, but innocent. They approach Muse A and offer to hunt down the killer together.
Option 2: Muse B is the killer and tries to throw Muse A off their trail (by seduction or other means).
Plot 9:
Muse A and Muse B have had a roller-coaster type of relationship for a few years. One day, they’re up. They’re laughing and happy, looking forward to their future. The next day, they’re down. Yelling and crying, threatening to call it quits. They’ve been in a relationship for so long that they’ve become comfortable in this toxic pattern. It doesn’t make much sense to outsiders why they bother continuing on together, but they can’t honestly imagine being without one another. One day, after a particularly explosive fight with Muse A, Muse B storms off. Muse A lets Muse B go, knowing that it’s only a matter of time before Muse B comes back and they make up. Only, days go by, and then weeks, then a year and Muse B doesn’t return. Muse A has a hard time dealing with the unexplained disappearance but gradually learns to move on, even though they occasionally wonder what happened to Muse B. When Muse A least expects it, Muse B shows up at their door in the middle of the night, begging for Muse A to invite them in. Muse A is stunned to see Muse B after so long and startled because Muse B seems different somehow, but nevertheless, Muse A invites Muse B inside to talk. Muse B tries to break it as gently as possible – that night they stormed off over a year ago, they were attacked by a vampire and now Muse B is one. Muse A doesn’t believe it, until Muse B shows them. Muse B promises that they won’t hurt Muse A and that they’ve only stayed away so long because they wanted to be able to control their bloodlust before coming back. Muse B has had time to reflect on how much they need Muse A in their life and how much better their relationship could be now because they’re hell-bent on making up for all of the bad times they used to have and they have an eternity to do so. Muse A must decide if they can trust Muse B at all, especially after Muse A accidentally witnesses Muse B feeding on someone.
Plot 10:
Muse A and Muse B, two rivals, gain traction in their respective fields because of a completely misunderstood interaction they had online that blew out of proportion due to their fans. but they meet irl at their first big anticipated event and are entirely smitten over one another because of how much better they think one another looks in person, but also anxious as hell having to keep appearances up for fans despite really only wanting to exchange numbers and gush over how talented one another is??
Plot 11:
plot where muse a and muse b were in this penpal program during their elementary school years but they were from different schools so they never crossed paths before. this turns into a years old friendship of weekly letter exchanges! muse a is convinced they are in love and is on a mission to figure out the identity but what they don’t know is fate had played a hand in their story way earlier than muse a could imagine...muse b lives right across the hall in the same apartment complex and has been for the past few years but they hate each other. just petty rivalry that stems from sexual tension obv !! then one night muse a is locked out of their apartment is muse b offers a place to chill while the landlord comes and that’s when muse a finds the stack of letters and freaks out !! how could this “jerk” be the person muse a has been in love with all these years?? suddenly muse a doesn’t know what to do ... confess ??
