1x1 Angel and Demon War

Ash nodded, and gulped, hoping Simon didn't wish to share a room or a bed with her tonight. She shivered at the thought, letting out a soft whimper as her burnt wings brushed the seat. She was shaking, trying to hold back the pain that she'd been hiding

Pulling up into a car park beside a hotel, Simon stopped the car and clambered out, muttering to himself. The hotel itself was a towering building, painted blue, although the outer coat was peeling to reveal the previous white base beneath. Over the entrance the sign read 'SUNNYSIDE HOTEL' in bold yellow letters, a childish drawing of the sun depicted beside it.

Whilst Simon went to book them two rooms, fully intending on sharing a double with Ash, Dez hung back with Ash in the welcoming room, which was decorated in plush furniture and happy pastel colours. Compared to the dark dank of their previous lodgings, the contrast was overwhelming. "Are you okay?" Dez asked, keeping his voice muted, glancing over at her wings. "If need be, we can try healing again, or find an actual healer. There's got to be someone in this town who's a bit less shit than I am."

Ash wobbled as she climbed from the car, hiding it well from Simons view. Whilst he booked the rooms she looked about, her pale eyes seeming unsure of all the people here, "I-I'm fine D-Dez" She stuttered, feeling the opposite of fine, but not wanting to admit it. Another angel passed, and ran off quickly, horrified at the state of Ash's wings, likely to throw up. Angels were sensitive about their wings, so to see another angels feathers in such a state was painful for others to see

"Yeah, which is why people are running screaming from you," Dez said, not unkindly, looking her over. "You stay here with loverboy. I'll go find someone who can help." He met her eyes, anxious to help but at the same time reluctant to leave her, especially in the hands of Simon. "Stay safe. He tries to touch him, feel free to ice-zap him or whatever you do to assholes."

Ash nodded, not wanting to mention that her ice wasn't working at the moment, and she looked over to where Simon was, "J-Just hurry" She mumbled, looking at him pleadingly.

Nodding, Dez contemplated some kind of goodbye hug, but neither wanted to hurt her further or be that horrendously awkward, so instead he went over to Simon, who was awaiting their room keys to be fetched. "I'm just going to go fetch a healer for Ash."

"You'll do no such thing," Simon said huffily, crossing his arms. "You're to stay here and be our witness."

"I'll be back in time for that. You don't want Ash dead before the wedding though do you?" Simon just scowled at him, so Dez rolled his eyes and reasoned with him, "Look, if I'm not back within an hour, you're welcome to come assassinate me. You know my weakness, remember. We're by the sea, getting a hand on some salt ain't gonna be tricky."

Sighing, Simon nodded. "Fine then, go. But try anything funny and I'll kill her too, demon-whore," Simon said with a pout, scowling at the receptionist when she returned clutching a set of keys. Glancing back at Ash, Dez gave her a parting wave before going off to find a healer. Simon meanwhile moved forth and took Ash's hand, dragging her upstairs.

Ash gulped, and followed Simon, putting on a fake smile and, when they reached their room, kissed him on the cheek with a soft purr. Keeping up this act was getting harder, trying to mask her disgust and pain behind the love

Caught off guard by the kiss, Simon froze initially, and then realised what was happening. Kicking the door shut with his foot, he shoved her roughly against a wall and started kissing her back, his kisses choppy, missing half the time, and his hands wandered, equally brusque in their handling of her.

(OOC: Arghghghdkadjklljdm, poor Ash)

(Ash: AGH)

Ash reacted how Simon would of expected, kissing back, her own hands wrapping around his back. She had to keep up this front, or else Simon would likely kill her and Dez, but she there was no way she was enjoying it. She yelped slightly as she hit the wall, but purred softly, continuing

(Dez: *angry face* The fuck are you letting him do to her in my absence?)

Meanwhile, ignorant of what was occurring back at Sunnyside Hotel, Dez had successfully located the local apothecary and healers. Its demon heritage was obvious from the symbols painted on the sign and scratched into the wood of the door. The slur of 'DEMON SCUM' spray painted across the front also helped give it a way a tadge. Perhaps the tensions between the two races were not as lax as he'd at first perceived.

Entering, he passed by various home-brewed demon medicines, remedies, and charms, arranged neatly on shelves. At the back, sat behind a counter was a red-headed male, with watery blue eyes and a book on his lap. He didn't look up until Dez came to stand before the counter, not shutting the book when he did so. At least he gave him a smile. "Can I help?" He asked, sounding perfectly friendly.

"I have a friend who's hurt. Can you- can you help heal her?" Dez asked, looking around the shop with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. The owner made their demon roots no secret, and he got the impression they were something of a patriot. Hopefully they didn't share the prejudices of the species too.

Snapping the book shut, setting it aside, the red-head's manner at once became attentive. "Of course. Lead the way. Actually, just let me write a note for the boss and then I'll be right with you."

"She um… She's an angel," Dez added, watching the red-head for a reaction.

The shopkeep scribbled down a note and then looked back up at Dez, waiting. "I'm sorry, I thought you were supposed to be leading the way here?" He said, one eyebrow raised. His expression softened when Dez grin, and in a hurry, the pair made their way over to the hotel.

Simon, meanwhile, was going a bit… overboard, shall we say. As if he were in some porno, he grabbed Ash and pushed her back onto the double bed, except unlike in a carefully edited sex film, things didn't go that smoothly. She landed awkwardly on her wings, and he didn't really quite know how to handle himself in this scenario. Ever since he'd been scarred, Simon hadn't exactly been the ladies' choice of partner, and even before hand he'd only had limited experience. Clumsily, he crawled on top of her, trying to kiss her.

(0___0 Dez is coming to sort this shit out soon, I swear)

(Ash: Hurry up Dez O.o .....Help)

Ash whimpered as she was pushed onto the bed, but weakly wrapped her wings around him and pulled him close, kissing him and trying to look eager and hide her pain simultaneously

(Simon: Why do I always feel like you guys are talking behind my back?)

With the red-headed demon on tow, Dez got Simon's room number from the clerk - who seemed rather concerned for Ash' safety, and handed over the information without protest - and then climbed the stairs two at a time, grateful that the healer could keep up. He arrived and entered without knocking, his pulse doing double time.

Bursting in to find Simon pinning Ash to the bed induced the urge to throw him off of her and then kill their valiant saviour, but knowing he might prove useful and was their only source of money at the moment, Dez resisted. Instead he simply said in as calm a voice as he could manage. "I brought a healer."

Simon muttered an insult under his breath and then sat up, looking back at the pair in the door. The healer was poking his head in, looking about with curiosity, all judgement seemingly reserved. "We were busy," Simon said through his teeth, glowering at the demon-whore.

"I think Ash may wish to be helped sooner rather than later," Dez said, glancing back at Ash, apologising as best as he could with his eyes for leaving her alone with the resident creep.

Ash whimpered softly, and laid on the bed, not moving. She was panting, wings folded around her body in a cocoon manner, revealing the burnt feathers and the state of her wings. Her grey eyes blinked at Dez, and she nodded quietly, a motion to tell him that its ok

(ash: We aren't dear)

"I will be as quick as I can," the healer said gently, looking between the three of them. With a nod from Dez, he entered the room, and went to sit beside Ash on the bed. "Is it alright if I touch your wings?" He asked, studying her condition, examining the blackened colour of her wings. Dez meanwhile followed, going to lean against one of the bedposts to watch. Simon had gone to sulk in the corner, pacing back and forth and eyeing the other three with a mix of jealousy and anger, although he remained silent.

Ash nodded, knowing healers always asked permission to touch a angels wings unless the angel was unconscious and it had to be done. She rolled onto her front to give him better access to her back and burnt wings

Nodding in thanks, the healer rested his hands gently upon the surface of her wings and then began moving his hand down across them in the direction of the feathers, the action slow. He then lifted his hand, placed it at the top of her wing, and repeated the action. A soft, barely noticeable blue glow formed under the skin of his palms, and gradually the colour of Ash's wings lightened, shade by shade, the burns healing and the feather's regaining their life.

"You've treated angels before?" Dez asked from beside, the healer's skill obvious from his confidence.

"A few times," the healer said, keeping his focus on Ash. "There are a lot of fights at night, town like this. Everyone, regardless of species, needs healing at the end." He then looked over at Ash, inspecting the rest of her. "That feeling alright to you, miss?"

Ash felt better as her feathers lightened, the burns healing. She nodded to the healer as he talked to her, and looked at Dez, giving him a grateful smile, forgetting that Simon was in the room

Kinda pissed that people weren't pay attention to him, Simon wandered up, looking over the healing process. He didn't look impressed. "I don't see why this is necessary. I like her broken," He muttered, just loud enough for them all to hear.

"Left like this, she'd only devolve further," the healer said quietly, refraining from commenting on Simon's… well, his simon-ness. Dez meanwhile was returning the smile, caught up like a teenager in the expression, glad to see that Ash was finally getting some well-deserved medical attention.

Pulling out a stick of chalk from the pockets of his jacket, the healer drew a series of symbols on Ash's wrists and ankles, and then finally on each of her wings. The symbols glowed blue for a moment before fading into nothing, the wings bleaching to an off-white and the marks on her skin fading to mere pink botches. "That ought to do you. The rest should heal naturally now, give it a day or two," the healer said, moving off from the bed and standing, looking over his handiwork.

Ash nodded, "Uh....c-could y-you check Dez? H-He was hurt" She stuttered softly, looking at the demon worriedly, ignoring Simon, and hoping he didn't react to her worrying about the demon

Turning to the demon, the healer took his arms carefully and inspected the blackened wounds from where the salt had reacted with his skin. He raised an eyebrow but said nothing about the fact that these were clearly salt wounds. "Certainly," he aid, running his hands down across Dez's forearms. The black wounds faded to an odd purplish colours and the holes sealed somewhat, looking like healing bruises. He then applied the chalk in a series of differing symbols to Dez's wrists, neck, and forehead, and the process repeated, partially healing the wounds across his body.

Simon meanwhile was growing… irritable, to say the least. The focus was definitely not on him, and now Ash was getting all involved with the demon-whore. He knew what the demon-whore did, who he did, and he didn't trust him for one second around his Ash. "I think that's quite enough," he sniffed haughtily, narrowing his eyes at the demon.

"How much do we owe you?" Dez asked, smiling in thanks to the healer.

"Just promise to come by and check out the shop some time," the healer said, shaking his head in dismissal at the idea of payment. "I don't charge for healing."

"Thank you" Ash said softly to the healer, smiling shyly. She stood, shaking out her white feathers happily, stretching her wings to their full extent, where they brushed the walls, and 'accidentally' hit Simon in the face when she refolded them

(Accidentally xD )

Covering a laugh at Ash's assault on Simon, Dez thanked the healer as well and accompanied him to the door, promising to visit the shop as asked. Closing the door behind him, Dez then looked back at Simon and Ash, the question of what next arising.

Ash looked at Simon warily, wondering what he'd do once the door closed. She looked over at Dez, smiling happily at her white wings and glistening blue eyes

Glowering between the two of them, Simon looked like a sulking child underneath all the scars. "I want us to get married now," he said bitterly, turning to Ash. "You've had your fun. I don't think we should delay it any further."

"Where are we going to be able to book a chapel at this short a notice?" Dez asked, trying to be reasonable.

"We don't need a chapel. We can do it outside for all I care," Simon snapped, taking Ash's hands in his own. "I don't want you to run off ever again."

Ash whimpered, "We have to do this properly....please?" She asked him, looking up at him with hopeful eyes, "I...I want to remember this" She said softly, looking down
