Don't you just love civilian life? Everything here is normal. Everyone goes about their lives, and the world goes on. Sure, some have better lives than others, but wasn't it always that way? One day, every channel on every television in the United States is overwritten. News, movies, everything. And what is played leaves everyone scarred.
There is a girl. Nobody special, your typical brunette with her hair slicked back in a ponytail and her makeup smudged. Oh, and blood all over her. Did we mention the girl is tied to a chair in a dark room? A masked, hooded figure walks into the frame. "Open up your computers." The heavily modified voice says. "Your phones. Any webpage. You have 24 hours to decide whether this girl live or dies." The screen glitches, leaving just the girl, tears running down her face.
People all around the country frantically flip open their phones, computers and tablets. The only webpage that is accessible is a simple one; A live feed of the girl on the news, and two buttons reading kill or save. The votes pile up, switching by the nanosecond.
24 hours later, the girl is shot 49 times in the chest, head, and stomach, and that moment marks the fall of the U.S.A.
It's been 5 years.
The government is gone, and so are about half the population. America has fallen into anarchy, with the rest of the world refusing to interfere, hoping that if they don't anger the figure in the mask they won't face their wrath. The suicide toll has almost reached the same as the deaths due to the people taken hostage. Loved ones are missing, friends are missing, neighbors are missing. Nobody knows who'll be next. The true colors of the nation have been revealed, showcasing nasty secrets that otherwise would've never been unearthed. Most of the time, the sick side of America wins and another person goes off the map. Nobody knows what happens to the small portion of people that have been spared, or really want to. The police forces have been reduced to mostly untrained vigilantes, and can't keep up with the countless crimes committed each day. With no leads on the organization behind the killings, almost everyone has lost hope.
Most people have seen someone they know get ruthlessly murdered. There's no going back after that.
This is the game that can't be won.
This story takes place in a once densely populated city in Arizona called Benson. With the immense amount of people that have either been kidnapped or committed suicide, there are few people left. This story will revolve around a high-rise apartment complex that was taken up by the survivors as their head of operations.
Many stores have been looted, and with nobody to restock them, supplies are scarce. Everyday, more people turn to desperate measures to survive.
As you can probably tell, this is heavily influenced by Welcome to the Game and that one episode of The Arrow.
I don't have a quota for the amount of writing, as long as you feel it's sufficient and gets the point you're trying to get across across. Try to average at a minimum of 1 paragraph, preferably more, but if the scene calls for a one-liner it's fine. I'm looking for people who can write somewhat well and will respond within a week. If your character dies or is kidnapped, which is fine, you can choose to add another character (As long as your post another CS) or leave the roleplay.
The roles I'm looking for are:
Any number of people that live in the headquarters. Leave a quick bio under this and I will add you.
dazzling - See police force
User - See police force
Hyelin - Survived a kidnapping, but you donβt know that.
MasterRed - Lost his family to kidnapping/suicide, and tries not to get involved.
dizzE - An undercover rebel that lives in HQ.
At least one person that has been kidnapped and survived. Your character can choose to be open about their experience or not.
Hyelin , but you donβt know that. See civilians for bio.
At least 3 members of the 'police force.' They can be ex-cops, private security, vigilantes, whatever. They will also live in the headquarters.
dazzling - Really distant and cold due to her depression, but willing to put her neck on the line for people she likes.
User - Vigilante taught code by her father, and after getting into the dark web grew interested in stopping the kidnappings.
At least 2 people that are criminals and against the group of people living in the headquarters.
dizzE - See civilians.
Keep in mind any characters can choose to get kidnapped during the roleplay, and one will be randomly picked.
As soon as there is enough interest I will make the sub-forums. Thanks for taking the time for reading this and enjoy!
