Setting​

The year is 1989, eight years after the end of The First Wizarding War and two years before Harry even learns he's a wizard. Though a scarcely acknowledged fear of you-know-who still lingers in the air, the wizard world is operating mostly as normal. Perhaps you are a new first year student, entering Hogwarts with the likes of Fred and George Weasley, Cedric Diggory, and Angelina Johnson. Or, maybe you are soon graduating alongside Bill Weasley, studying vigorously (or not) for your N.E.W.T.s. Either way, you've found your way to Hogwarts and are welcome. Now please, make your way to platform nine and three quarters.

Plot​

This is a Harry Potter universe role play, without the Harry Potter. The events of Harry's life, as depicted in the books, have not all occurred yet. This RP will be focused mostly on life at Hogwarts as the students come of age and attend their classes while trying to keep out of trouble. There will be certain plot points (such as feasts, trips to Hogsmeade, and Quidditch matches) to push character development and interaction. OCs, especially first years (please refer to next tab), would be wonderful, but canon characters are most welcome too. Drama between characters (romance, rivalries, etc.) is highly encouraged.

Guidelines & Rules​

1. All first years will be sorted upon arrival at Hogwarts, as per the Sorting Ceremony. (This means that canon characters will be sorted into their respective houses, but OCs are at the mercy of the Sorting Hat.)
2. If you've joined our RP after we've done sorting for the year, you can join as an older year (2-7) or part of the staff. All canon teachers are in place, but I will allow OC assistant professors in each subject who can teach the lower years (1-3) under the supervision of the canon teacher.
3. You are allowed 3 characters in total. They may be whatever year you like, or even a teacher, as long as they follow the above rules.
4. This will be a detailed and (I'm hoping) long-term RP. While quality is more important than quantity, in the interest of substance I am expecting at least a full paragraph (6 sentences or more) per post, at least once or twice a week. Please let us know if you'll be inactive for a while, in advance!
5. Let's all be polite to each other and work together to have a good time.
6. I'm sure you know the usual rules by now, but just in case: no GMing, Mary Sues, or controlling/harming other people's characters without consent. etc..
7. Less of a rule and more of a suggestion, but the group discord can be found here: https://discord.gg/k3k67hT. You are not required to join at all, but it's a handy tool for communication.

It's alright, I get it. My little brothers are first years too. George and Fred Weasley. Little troublemakers, they are. Maybe you'll meet them on the train. But on second thought, it's probably better that you don't.

[He laughs.]

Here, let me help you with your bags. Don't worry, they'll be sent up to your room when we get there. Now, when you get off, you'll be looking for Hagrid. He's a big guy, you won't be able to miss him. He'll take you on the boats to the Great Hall, where you'll get sorted.

What? Yeah, sorted. You know, into one of the four houses. You don't know? Blimey, well. There are four houses. Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor - that's the one I'm in - and Slytherin. You'll probably want to stay away from that last lot. Huh? Oh, no, you don't get to pick. The Hat will, at the ceremony.

[The train's whistle blows sharply, a final warning to all intending to get to Hogwarts.]

There's probably still room in one of the compartments of this car right right here. In you go. Chin up, you'll be fine. Just remember to stay as far away from Peeves as you can. What's that? Nevermind, you'll figure it out for yourself. Good luck, and welcome to Hogwarts.

  Milena's sleek, and wavy chestnut hair runs halfway down her back, matched in color and shine by her eyes. She will often tie her hair with a piece of ribbon when she needs to focus. Her skin is tinged olive, due to her slight Persian descent. Milena walks with a confident gait, as part of the appearance she puts on.

  To those that know her, Milena is affectionately called "the littlest princess". This is due, in part, to her lack of height. The other part, Milena would tell you, is her unmistakable grace and poise which likens her to a princess. Some others might tell you that she earned that title with her notorious reputation for being something of a spoiled brat with a propensity for temper tantrums.
  
  Milena is, by most accounts, a mix of entitled and arrogant with a dash of vanity thrown in for good measure. Her feisty nature often leads her to butt heads with those who don't conform to her rules. Despite all that, she is known to have some redeeming qualities. Milena can become deeply passionate about things that captivate her interest and will go to the moon and back for a cause she thinks is worthy. Milena's loyalty, though sometimes fickle, is absolute when possessed.
  
  In Milena's mind, she knows what she deserves and will not settle for anything less. For those she thinks highly of, this is a good thing because she will share freely what she has with no reservations. At the end of the day, Milena just wants to be liked and respected by everyone (but especially those she looks up to).   history:
  Milena comes from one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight pure-blood wizarding families. Though she is not an only child, to her it has always felt like it. Her older brother, Elias, was already graduated and out of the house by the time their father remarried and had Milena. Both parents doted on Milena, as the first girl born of her house in almost a century.
  
  Even with her parents' affections, Milena was, for the majority of her childhood, lonely. She spent her days wandering her family's expansive mansion in solitary apathy. Her domineering and overprotective father restricted Milena's exposure to only other pure-blooded families and their children. Because of this, Milena has an innate distrust of those outside her circle.
  
  ambitions and goals:
  Deep down, Milena wants to make real friends at Hogwarts. At first, she will only thinks he wants to associate with the "right kind" of people, but she will learn to appreciate those who are different than her with time.   For her age, Zara is on the taller side of the spectrum. She stands at 64 inches (5' 4"), with seemingly much more to go. This, added to her bronzed skin and dark hair, lead to a kind of amazonian look, despite the fact that her personality is far from it.
  
  Freckles dot Zara's nose and cheeks, only adding to her eccentricity. She tends to leave her hair down or in a mottled bun atop her head when she needs to keep it out of the way during her experiments. Her wardrobe focuses on comfort and function over fashion and form. She will often wear a necklace or two every day, as she believes in the powers of certain crystals. Zara owns a pair of reading glasses that she should use more often (and will probably eventually become permanent), but she often loses them.
  

  
  

  
  

  

  

  

  Personality
  Zara spends much of her time with her head up in the clouds, dreaming of what she could do next. Sometimes, it's things like what would happen if she mixed powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood. Other times it's hopes that the house elves would make Bakewell tarts with dinner. When brought back down to earth, she pursues those fancies, going where the wind takes her.
  
  When Zara gets an idea in her head, she will follow it as far as she can. This often translates, much to the dismay of caretaker Filch, into many experiments in all parts of the Hogwarts grounds (she likes to call her failed experiments "trials"). Zara is bright beyond her years (as expected of a Ravenclaw), but often forgets to consider the consequences of her actions.
  
  History
  Zara comes from an eccentric family. Her mother, a pureblooded Ravenclaw wizard from Wales, worked as a curse breaker in the deep rain forests of Malaysia. There, her mother met a captivating native Malaysian man with his own tribe's form of magic. A quirky, seemingly doomed relationship blossomed under canopies of the forest. For years, the two resided in the Maliau Basin, happy as could be.
  
  When Zara's mother found she was pregnant, she decided to move back home to Wales for a number of reasons. First,
  she wanted her child to be born in her homeland. Second, in the event her child was magical, Zara's mother wanted her to grow up in the UK and go to Hogwarts, as she did. Zara's father, though sad to leave his own home and people, went along with his wife's wishes. He was excited for the adventure of a new country and culture, and wanted to see if his wife's claims of how wonderful Wales was were true.
  
  The months of Zara's mother's pregnancy seemed to fly by, full of joy and excitement. In the small countryside home they lived in, Zara decorated her child's room with blue and bronze, hoping to see her offspring join her house. When the time came, the happily family was only very briefly three. Zara's mother would never know which house her child would be sorted into.
  
  Zara's father, though foreign to the UK, was determined to see his late wife's wishes fulfilled. He raised his daughter at their home in Wales, intent on her going to Hogwarts. Zara's childhood was filled with a loving father who cultivated her curiosity and encouraged Zara to explore the world around her. They've taken many trips home to her father's native Malaysia, where Zara picked up a few tricks from her father's tribe.

  appearance: Gwen's skin is a radiant dark hazel. She would never admit it to anyone, but she tries to take special care of her skin with varying creams and treatments nightly. Her dark hair, normally long and wavy, is often put into tight braids by a pair of enchanted hooks she owns. Gwen's height is measured at about 5'4", just slightly above the average for a girl her age. Her wardrobe focuses on (only slightly) revealing cutoff tanks and shorts. She wears these because loves the heat and doesn't feel the cold.
  
  personality: Gwen is a fighter. If she sees something that goes against her personal code, she'll push against it with everything she's got. She doesn't do this for acceptance or friendship (because she really couldn't care less what other people think), but because she feels strongly compelled to always do what she thinks is right. Now, that's doesn't always mean she'll do what other people usually think is right or ethical, but what fits with her own dogma.
  
  history: Gwen comes from a family of muggles with no known history of magic. She is the only child, out of her four sisters, that has exhibited any kind of magical ability. From a young age, small, unexplainable "accidents" happened around Gwen. Things seemed to catch on fire though there's was no reason they should. Items ended up in places no one could reach. For years, her family just waved these occurrences off as forgetfulness or mistakes.
  
  When she reached the tender age of 11, Gwen was shocked to learn she was a witch. Even more than that, she couldn't believe there was a whole school of people like her where she could go. Her family, however, did not share in her elation. Before she knew it, her sisters seemed to tiptoe around Gwen, not wanting to anger the "freak". Her parents no longer treated her like one of their children, but a threat they were responsible for. None of Gwen's family understood this "wizardry", but found it was not something that could be ignored. When they had finally accepted the facts as they were, Gwen's parents seemed relieved to send their daughter off to a faraway place every year.
  
  As for Gwen, she didn't grow up understanding her powers. When she received her first owl from Hogwarts, she was undoubtedly excited, but that excitement quickly turned into resentment. She felt bitter about the powers that forced her family to treat her as an outcast. The first year, she cried all the way to the station. Now, going back to Hogwarts is the only thing she dreams of all summer. Home doesn't feel like home anymore, and Gwen feels it never will.

Personality: Alice Montgomery is quite possibly the loudest, proudest, most daring, and obnoxious person you will ever meet. She has a kind heart and a brave soul, which makes her a very good friend and/or ally, but also an anger that is most dangerous to be on the wrong end of. She is at her core a compassionate and caring person, as well as brave, though she tends to come off as a bit cocky and over-confident. She has no doubt about who she thinks she is, and is extremely self-confident. Despite her fear of death, she is constantly throwing herself into dangerous situations for the thrill of it and is definitely excited to discover if there are other pranksters like herself in the 1989 first year class. The only thing she is rather touchy about is the fact that she is muggle-born. It does not bother her what she is, but it bothers her when others discriminate against her for being muggle-born and/or will not treat her as they would any other witch or wizard.
History: Alice is the only child to John and Elizabeth Montgomery, and grew up with a quirky but still rather safe and normal childhood. Her parents were always open to supporting whatever she was interested in- which explains her rather grown up music tastes compared to most other muggles her age- and had no problem with her going to Hogwarts. In fact, they were almost more excited than she was, which was saying something. She will be the first in her family to attend Hogwarts, and her little brother Jeremy is rather jealous, and praying that he will be able to study at "magic-school". She grew up in a rather nice sized flat in the city of Westminster in London- big enough to supply her and her brother a room to share aside from their parents room, the kitchen, and the main room of the flat.

Now that the time when she will be leaving for Hogwarts has come, her parents are a bit more wary of the idea, but they agree that they've already said yes and can't back out now. To prove that they still support her, they even took her out to buy all new of everything she needed for her first year of schooling and gifted her with her kitten, Zeppelin. Alice herself is a bit nervousited, as she says. It is a mix of nervous and excited, as she is looking forward to this new experience, but it is also something completely alien. She mostly just hopes that she will be able to find friends at the school.
Ambitions/Goals: Alice would love to be remembered in future years as one of the best pranksters Hogwarts has ever seen. Only knowing a bit about this new world from the few books she has read, she doesn't know much about wizarding world careers, but has been interested in trying out for her house's quiddich team.
Other: Though she obviously doesn't know it yet, Alice has quite the nack for transfiguration and is rather good on a broomstick. As well as the fact that her patronus will turn out to be a Leopard.

Alice, though her large personality may compensate, only stands at 4' and 10" (four feet and ten inches) tall. She has fair skin with faint freckles dotting her t-zone and cheeks. Her frame is rather thin and petite, though with a healthy amount of muscle. Her hair is naturally dark brown and wavy, and is cut to lay rather short at about her ears. Though, she does wear it slicked up with muggle hair gel every once in a while. Alice has chocolate brown eyes that can look both kind and terrifying depending on her emotions. Lastly, her clothing choices tend to be a bit on what is considered the "rebellious" or merely "grunge" side in the muggle world. But, she does understand that Hogwarts has a dress code. > Personality: Jesse is a relatively quiet one, choosing to listen and observe over communicating, though this isn't to say he's anti-social. > History - The Bannister family are a family of half-bloods that's been living in Wimbourne for at least the past 500 years or so, establishing themselves as successful artisans and academics in the area. They've had rough times, having suffered the short end of the stick during the First Wizarding War, but the business survived as the family managed to seek refuge, where Marilyn gave birth to two boys, Jesse and Gabriel. For Jess, being the middle child was a bit of a curse in its own way, having both an older sister and a younger brother that sucked up most of the attention. Nevertheless, Jesse's childhood was a fond one, filled with mischief and rough-and-tumble games with his siblings. Sometimes Jess was a bit of a hassle for his parents, but his behavior wasn't anything they couldn't solve on their own.

Like most children in Wizarding Britain, Jess was sent off to Hogwarts at age 11, where the Bannister was sorted into Ravenclaw house, to the surprise of no one. The boy really did enjoy learning, and while he enjoyed making mischief as much as the next kid, he found true solace in sticking his nose as deep into a book as physically possible. He'd been a model student in every sense of the term, joining the Quidditch team as soon as he was old enough and being elevated to the rank of Prefect this previous year.

History:
A half-blood from Leeds, Tyrus Zanewood grew up in the home of half blood witch Melissa Wilcottle and Bram Zanewood who himself was a muggleborn wizard. One was a ravenclaw and the other a hufflepuff who always wore his leather jacket, Tyrus was close to his parents and quite fond of music a sense both his parents were talented in singing and instruments respectively, leading to Tyrus inheriting his parents skills and love for the arts of music. Two years before his letter arrived from Hogwarts, Bram Zanewood died during his tour around England playing at local pubs and getting his name out there with his band. Leaving behind a wife and child who'd miss him dearly since, Tyrus shut down for weeks after discovering his father had died and his mother was heartbroken whilst trying to help her son out of his silence and sadness.

That's when Tyrus discovered that music was truly a way to cope, manage his stress and heartache by playing songs, writing new ones, singing and just playing his guitar. While he began to wear his fathers old leather jacket often and to just about every occasion and every where.

As the years past and Tyrus remained close with his mom, if not growing closer since Brams death. Now Tyrus with his supplies, wand and Robes...... Looks join Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry while finding out which house he be put into and hopefully make his parents proud.

Ambition & Goals:

Personality:
From a young age, Orla was taught the importance of organization. honesty and level headedness. When that was all ripped away from her, she had no control and once she regained that control, her need to have everything planned and thought out became obsessive. She rarely reveals how she's feeling, too worried that it'll mess up the order of her life, the smooth flow that she has worked to hard to obtain. Orla is very soft spoken, but almost everything she says is based on knowledge. Some people may see her as a know it all, but in fact, she does know a lot for her age. She had read hundreds of books and has a passion for knowledge and learning.

Although Orla rarely expresses her feelings, she is very sensitive and gets hurt very easily. She doesn't want people to think that she's heartless, but it's the only way to make sure that she doesn't get hurt again. History:
Orla was concieved in Carrickfergus, Ireland, but because of The Troubles, her Mother, Arabella left and moved to England. Arabella had fallen in love with a muggle man, and they really had been in love, but he had been forced to fight and had been shot dead in the street. Arabella planned to take up her magical life again, as she hadn't practiced for a few years, too scared that her love would leave her. She integrated with her old friends from Hogwarts, and realized how much she had missed being a witch. Once Orla was born, she raised her with pride and discipline, but she was beyond loving. Orla doesn't remember that much of her Mother, because when she was seven, she was abducted.

Orla had grown up on a farm in Newcastle, far from the bustle of the city and most of her life was spent on the edge of a river or in her Mother's old house. She didn't know anything about the muggle world, and her Mother sheltered her from its violence and cruelty. That was, until, a man came knocking on their door. His name as Peter Ormen, a tall, skinny man and he visited the house four or five times before finally making his move. At first, he had pretended to be a neighbour, and that he had moved into the farm nearby, and so Arabella had obliged his first visit with a cup of tea. After that, she had repeatedly told him to leave, even casting harmless spells to ward him off. And yet, he was persistent. One day, while Orla was out by the river, she heard a loud bang. She ran to the house, wondering what had happened and the next thing she knew she was in the back of a strange vehicle.

All the way up until she was ten, Orla was extorted for her magic by Peter and his awful son, Oliver. They made her perform in circuses and shows, dazzling people with simple spells, such as lumos and alohomora. People were amazed. And then, one day, a familiar face that Orla couldn't quite put down to a single memory was at one of her shows. A tall, blonde woman. At the end of the show, she appeared behind the stage, saying that she had been a friend of her Mothers. All of a sudden, the memories reappeared and Orla recognised her; Olivia Stellwage, or Auntie Liv as she remembered. She took Orla with her, not before casting a finger removing jinx on peter. He would never steal anything again.

Orla has lived with Auntie Liv in Ayr, Scotland, since she was rescued. The Ministry had found out about her revealing magic, but let her off as she had been forced to do such things. Since then, Orla has been bitter and quiet and sad. She doesn't think of the past; only the future, but she hates muggles and the things they're doing to the world. Auntie Liv has told her storied of Hogwarts, and mostly of Minerva McGonagall. Orla wants to be just like her when she's older.

Johanna tends to be tad bit on the mischievous/sarcastic side, taking the things that happen to her in stride and rolling with it, with a snappy comeback already on the tongue. Most people avoid her due to her fierce and sarcastic attitude. But she is extremely loyal to her friends that she does manage to make. She'll throw herself into the heat of battle for her friends without really thinking about it. She can become extremely competitive when the time allows.​

My parent's names are Andrew Hayes and Teresa Kaulia, born in Edinburgh, Scotland. My ma Teresa is a cardiologist (That's a heart doctor) who works late nights and loves caramel macchiatos, and my pa, rest his soul, was a journalist for the local paper, and unfortunately he died of leukemia the same year I received my letter from Hogwarts. Taciturn at first sight making her appear intimidating when combined with her height but give her time you will find a sweet, humorous and intelligent girl. Though gentle by nature she is by no means a push over with a mischievous wit to match her physical strength which she uses to protect her friends which she is dedicated to. Finally she is one to keep her emotions in cheek, trying not to show any strong emotion and though quick to offer help rarely asks others for it. However despite her attempts to supress it she can have a raging temper when sufficently pressed were she can be unpredictable and violent.

Born to unknown parents, spending her early years in an orphanage. Even in those years she realised she was different as a toddler she was already as tall as a ten year old. In addition she had always kept separate from other children, rarely allowed to interact with other children and the carers though nice were careful around her as if frightened of her. It was an uncomfortable and lonely feeling. That changed when an seemingly out of nowhere and older boy approached her as she played. She was scared at first but soon seemed to get on and before she knew it she was adopted.
Her new parents treated her the same as her career, loving but careful like she was made of large fragile glass. She didn't understand this at first and though tandrums which only her new brother Lochlan seemed to calm her. Lochlan and her were inseparable finding herself closer to him than their parents as he taught her what she didn't know of the magical world and introducing her to Quiddich which she took to immediately. When Lochlan was injured by a werewolf attack she was heardpt broken especially when finding out that he would remain ill because of it forever. She was determined to help anywhere she could and going to Hogwarts was the first step.

Kliff also has a tendency to zone out of reality whenever he’s thinking, studying, practicing, or reading.   Kliff’s father is a Professional Quidditch Star and his mother is an Auror. Hee was born 7th out of 11 children. She and Kliff are twins, with her being the older twin. However, they were born on different days as she was born before midnight and her brother was born after midnight.
  
  
  From his birth, Kliff was different from the other kids. He was born with heterochromia which caused him to have two different shades of green as his eye colors. Although members of his family thought it was cool, most of the other children his age left him alone and labeled it as creepy. This, however, left Kliff open to doing other things and he showed to be intelligent and very creative, as well as talented and artistic as he was one of the few Beid Children to continue practicing their instruments after their mandatory learning was finished.
  
  
  Kliff was also extremely close to his uncle. He was an energetic older man with a passion for wandlore and his wife was a sweet lady who encouraged and supported him. That’s why when he was 7 and the man asked Kliff if he wanted to go on a trip to Greece with them to discover a new core, Kliff immediately agreed. Unfortunately, he was not fully prepared for the events that transpired.
  
  
  During their trip, true to Kliff’s unlucky nature, they encountered a Manticore. It immediately charged towards Kliff. Kliff, somehow, was able to avoid instant death and instead received a giant gash to the arm. His aunt cast a spell, taking the attention away from Kliff and putting it on the aunt. However, the Manticore then charged the aunt, jumping on top of her. Fortunately, the uncle cast a spell that caused the Manticore to disappear. Unfortunately, it was too late. The Manticore had alredy stung the aunt with its tail and Kliff and the uncle watched helplessly the aunt took her last breath.
  
  
  Once returning back to London, Kliff was extremely depressed. The uncle tried to comfort him but Kliff was too far off the edge to even care about the pain in his arm. Once everyone at his school found out, most people were sympathetic but a few called Kliff a bad omen and a sign of misfortune. This led to Kliff being shunned even more.
  
  
  One day, not wanting to face school again, Kliff ran off into the woods near his house. That’s when he saw it : a group of 5 Thestrals. He was immediately intrigued by their appearance and sat observing them the entire day. He watched as they walked around, flew around, attacked birds, started feasting on the birds they had attacked a couple of seconds ago, and their other behaviours. He could have watched them all day but he had to go home.
  
  
  Once home, he immediately told the person he was closest to : His twin sister. She was also intrigued so a few days later, Kliff took her to the forest to show her. Once he reached them, he realized something new about them. His sister couldn’t see them. She then proceeded to say he was going crazy and out of worry, told the person that Kliff looked up to, their uncle.
  
  
  Fortunately, Kliff’s uncle had experienced the same thing and explained to Kliff about Thestrals. Kliff was intrigued even more about the creatures. Every day, he went to the forest, even bringing food to the creatures, and soon enough, he gained their trust.
  
  
  However, as you could expect, rumors spread quickly. Why would an 8 year old boy with extremely bad luck constantly visit the forest. Answer : He was doing something else taboo. Rumors that he was practicing dark magic and other similar stories started being spread and Kliff started being bullied more and more at school until his parents made the decision to homeschool him. Kliff however was extremely fine with this. This gave him more time to spend doing the things he loved. Fortunately, this 3 years of Kliff disappearing from public eye allowed things to quiet down to where most people either sympathize with or don’t know about Kliff.
  
  
  At age 11, Kliff received a letter from Hogwarts. His parents were mortified and didn’t want him to go.   The Beid family is one of the most powerful and influential wizard families in the Wizarding world. They were most known for one quality that ALL members had : When they had a goal, they reched their goal. Clay, however, as a young child didn’t have a goal and spent her childhood wondering what she was good at and what she wanted to achieve. Her oldest sibling wanted to become an auror like their mother. Jack, her favorite sibling next to her twin, wanted to become a Quidditch Star like their father. Even her twin himself had an idea of what he wanted to do and it was to make wands like their uncle who was the Wandkeeper for Olivander.
  
  
  As she grew older, she started becoming more and more paranoid that she was going to let her parents down. Fortunately, an angel in the form of her aunt, came to Clay. Her aunt owned a very successful restaurant and she needed Clay and her siblings to help out during the Holidays when it got extremely busy. Clay was put into the kitchen to help the aunt and she immediately fell in love with cooking. And then to make it even better, Clay had an innate ability to identify ingredients placed in a dish without ever being mistaken. Once Clay’s aunt realized this she started mentoring Clay to take over the restaurant after she retired.
  
  
  Clay was 9 years old and during those two years before getting a letter to Hogwarts, Clay had become a master chef. She knew enough about cooking to start having cooking contests with her aunt, despite losing most of them. Clay’s cooking was praised by top chefs all around and Clay knew that there was nothing she’d rather do than cook.

  Ever since Jack was a baby, he could not keep still. While other babies would be known for crying and annoying everyone, Jack was known for crawling into places he shouldn’t be. However, once he was older, his father started teaching him how to play Quidditch in an attempt to make productive use of his energy. Fortunately, he immediately fell in love with game and took to it like a bee on honey.
  
  
  As you would expect, once he was of age, he received a letter to Hogwarts. Due to his outgoing nature and his well-known family name, he quickly became friends with everyone he could. The highlight of his First Year was substituting for one of the 6th years on the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team at the last minute and leading his team to victory.

Chris is a really standard teacher guy. He likes to help people to achieve their goals and he likes seeing them grow their strength and wisdom. He won't stop till someone understands the subject of the lesson. Sometimes he can come cross as really active but he just can't help it.

Alex is the third son of James and Maria VanDam, he has two older brothers, Chris and Grant. Grant died during the First Wizarding War fighting off death eaters together with members of the Order of the Phoenix. Alex broke when he heard that his brother had died, it took him the most time to recover because he was really close to Grant, he is also the godfather of the little Mellanie, the daughter of Grant.
He was born during the second year of the First Wizarding War, people were in terror and didn't know what to do. His parents thought about moving back to the Netherlands, where is was safer, but then both Chris and Grant had to leave Hogwarts and go to the Beauxbattons, instead they went into hiding, so the first years Alex life was inside of the small house in the suburbs of Manchester.
When the war was finally over, Alex was finally able to attend a normal primary school instead of homeschooling. When finally his letter arrived he was really excited to go to Hogwarts and finally be able to learn the things about magic.
His goal is to become an auror, like his brother Grant was

Alex looks likes his brothers, he is 6'2 and still growing a little. He is good looking and cares about his looks. He has blue eyes and dark blonde hair which has blond tips. He build athletic and has a small beard. He has no tattoo's and has a small scar on his chin from an accident when he was young. While not being at Hogwarts, he cares a lot about his appearance, he looks mainly to fashion from America and has a huge closet at home

Rufus is the youngest of the four brothers. He never really knew his older brother because he was 3 when Grant died. However, he grew up with Mellanie, his niece who is only 3 years younger then him and living with Mellanie's mother in the same house as the VanDam family. Theodore Nott, his cousin, is also of the same age, but James broke with his sister (the mother of Theodore) when he found out that the father of Theodore was a Death Eater.
The first years of his life was still during the First Wizarding War, but as a young kid he doesn't remember much of it. The rest of his childhood was really nice and now he is really excited to go to Hogwarts, but also a little afraid that he needs to live up to the expectations of certain teachers who also taught his brothers, who had really good grades.
After graduating, he wants to work at Hogwarts

Rufus is 5'8 tall, and he still needs to get his growth spurt. He has dark blonde hair and blue eyes, like his brothers and father. He is build skinny. He has no tattoo's or scars. Outside Hogwarts he likes to keep up with the latest muggle trends

Chris is born in a rough time. Since a few decades more and more people started to disappear, and when he was five the First Wizarding War broke out. His parents went into hiding because the Death Eaters were also targeting not totally pure families. You could consider the VanDam family a pure-blood family, especially when they were still living in the Netherlands, but after they moved to England they married with some muggle-born which affected their pure pure-blood status. However, Chris' aunt was still able to marry a Nott, but the family cut ties with her because her husband was a death eater.

Chris was schooled at home until he was old enough to go to Hogwarts. His brother was nearly graduating and heading on with his studies to become an auror and the young Chris had no clue what he wanted to become. At school he excelled in two classes in particular, Charms and DaDa, he was a good dueler and won many duels due to his quick thinking. He was a popular guy at school because of his looks and friendliness.

When he left Hogwarts he didn't knew what to do and the war was still going on. He decided to stay home, tutor his younger brothers and niece and protect the home. When the war ended he decided that he wanted to continue teaching people, that's why he became an associate charms at Hogwarts

Chris is one of the tallest of the VanDam family. Because of their dutch blood, they are tall in general but Chris just needed to be a little bit taller. Susanna is a very prim and proper type of person and this is immediately noticeable by her wardrobe choice and her physical appearance. She tends to wear less conspicuous clothing, nothing terribly flashy but still appropriate and flattering. She likes form fitting- but not too tight- pants, normally dark colors because they look neater.

As far as her physique, Susanna takes after her mother more than her father in that. She comes to about 5'7" when fully grown, she has excellent posture too which ensures that every inch is accounted for, and is quite slim. She isn't all that muscular though she isn't weak. But that's fine with her as she isn't all that interested in physical activities. Her skin tone is fair, she is an even light tan all year round and doesn't really darken during the summer, but she doesn't burn either which she appreciates. She does gain freckles though. Though she doesn't show it off much Susanna has a petite hourglass figure.

Her face is soft and, as mentioned, is lightly splattered with freckles. She keeps her brown hair- which is sort of mildly thick and usually slightly wavy- cut to about an inch above her shoulders and normally tucked behind her ears. She has the inherited eyes that come from the Rosewarne family. A dark ring, almost black without close inspection surrounds the outside and inside of the iris which is a predominantly green hazel mixture with lines of light golden brown in the mix.

Susanna, despite not being considered a self-conscious type in general, is extremely self-conscious about the fact that she stutters. This odd mix has made her known as quiet but also friendly and more outgoing that shy. Because she tends to stutter often and doesn't want to be made fun of she talks little and softly when she does. She normally elects to only truly babble (which she is indeed capable of) around family and those she is close to. She is outgoing in a pleasantly quiet way, in more than one way.

Susanna was born in Cornwall, England, to parents Isaac and Adeline Rosewarne. She has a brother who is several years her senior, Sidney. The Rosewarne's are one of the pureblood Slytherin families, something Susanna is trying to live up to and change the stereotype of. In fact, she sometimes dislikes her family's status. She has lived in the Cornwall area since she can remember, however, her father hails from London. Aside from being pure blood and predominantly a Slytherin house family (she knows of a distant uncle or cousin that was sorted elsewhere) Susanna's family is decent, or more so than that. She gets along quite well with her parents and though she often clashes with her brother does love him. Both of her parents attended Hogwarts and were Slytherin. Her brother is in his fourth year and is also Slytherin.

Ambitions and Goals ::

Susanna hasn't given her future much thought but she has goals for the next few years she spends at Hogwarts. She wants to do a lot of Muggle Studies. She finds that fascinating and thinks she will pursue a career in a related field. She also wants to do more with her artistic abilities, she picked up sculpting during her early childhood and loves transforming an inanimate object into a work of art. Like the rest of his family, Sidney possesses the same erect posture and, unlike everyone aside from his father, he is extremely tall. He has a hard time finding clothes that properly fit his lengthy frame but on a whole, his general style is fairly laid back. He wears casual clothing often, especially running or other workout clothes. However, he can look very well put together in a suit. Unlike Susanna, though he doesn't generally look so proper. He likes looking carefree and feeling comfortable.

Sidney, unlike his sister, takes after his father as far as physique goes. He is abnormally tall coming to a little past 6' when fully grown. Like his father, he is well suited to physical activity and is exceptional at running having long, quick strides. Like all of his family, he has even tan skin and freckles. His skin tone, however, is slightly darker tan than Susanna's, due to his activeness outside where he can darken. Sidney is a very active person and has gotten into plenty of scrapes before. As such, he has a multitude of scars from his incidents. One that is most noticeable is a thin line across the bridge of his nose, this scar is rather faint, only really visible because it is lighter than his tan skin. In addition to the freckles and a few nicks and scars, Sidney has a few dark spots/moles on his neck, one just on the edge of his jawbone on the right.

Though he still has the Rosewarne eyes, Sidney's are more green, though they still hold to the hazel color. The dark rings are still present as well, going around the outer and inner edges of the irises. He has the same dark brown hair as his sister too and is kept neatly messy. He makes sure it is cut to an appropriate length so it doesn't get too raggedy looking but he never styles it. Styling it wouldn't do much anyway as he runs his hands through his hair much too often.

Sidney mostly attempts to seem aloof and even cold towards the general population simply to keep a front up. However, he is actually a very amiable person, though he doesn't drop the self-assured arrogance. He isn't all that sure of his ideals and his beliefs but he makes up for that by being competitive and good at sports. He likes having things he knows he is good at as they make him feel that he isn't so ungrounded. Unlike his sister who is quite sure of who she is, Sidney has a harder time figuring himself out. No matter which side of himself he shows he clings to things that he feels give him an advantage, (his athletic abilities, pureblood status, etc.) but that in and of itself can be seen as a crutch to anyone close to him. Unfortunately, he is also easily influenced by others, however, he is entirely capable of being a leader, were he to figure out his own stance on things.

Despite his shortcomings though, Sidney is indeed a good guy, he just has a less than solid perception of himself. In truth, he is extremely bright and loves to interject daily life with witty comments or quote famous persons. He is also incredibly good at acting and a pretty good liar. This has been a problem in the past as combined with his extremely ambitious drive Sidney can be quite heartless when he wants something. This is part of his harsher, more snobbish persona. Brynn has long, black hair that’s usually pulled way back into a ponytail. When her hair is down though, her parting is on her left side. Her skin is pretty tan, a light brown that is a result of her many days spent outside exploring. She’s not the toughest looking person, but she doesn’t look frail or tiny either. She wears square glasses over dark brown eyes on a round face. She has a full figure with a good amount of weight on her body. She stands at 5’, and she rarely ever slouches. She has a oval-shaped birthmark on her left wrist that wraps around the right side of it.

If one sees her on her own, she might have a look of apathy on her face, as though whatever she’s doing isn’t quite interesting enough for her to care about. However, around friends she definitely appears more friendly and approachable with her usual wide grin. Brynn has a great desire to learn and excel at every possible thing. She acts with a sort of lazy confidence, as though she can achieve things without having to give any effort. In truth, while she does learn many things fairly easily and quickly, she will work as hard as she needs to in order to appear so skilled in front of others. Though she often acts like she doesn’t care what other people think of her, she feels an incredible need to prove herself to everyone she meets, doing whatever she can to make sure that others like her or are at least impressed by her.

History:

She was born on November 19th to Samson Liu, a half-blood Hufflepuff, and Emilia Cheng, a pureblood Ravenclaw. They met as friendly rivals in Hogwarts, constantly trying to one up the other. Their rivalry first started when Sam overheard Emilia mocking the Hufflepuff house along with her friends. He challenged her to a duel, loudly proclaiming that Hufflepuffs were just as skilled as any other house. During the duel, they each met their match, realizing that the other was just as skilled. Emilia still won the duel, but she relented that maybe Hufflepuffs weren’t all that bad. As they grew up together, they found that they were more similar than they had previously thought, and eventually fell in love.

As they graduated from Hogwarts, Emilia went on to pursue a career as an Auror while her Sam decided to continue his studies in Charms and eventually became a spell inventor. Though Emilia took a break from work to have Brynn and help raise her, most of the job was left to Sam, who worked on his own time. Brynn became accustomed to the many arguments that occurred, some about how to raise Brynn, some about their work, and some simply because leftover frustration turned into anger. Brynn’s relationship with her parents became a little strained after having to deal with the tension, especially with her mom who was definitely the harshest.

In general though, Brynn loves and respects her parents, constantly looking up to them for inspiration and guidance. Her father taught her most of the magic that she knows, mostly basic and fun charms in his spare time. Other than that, she also rode around on her broomstick, under the not so careful supervision of her father. Her mother, the real quidditch expert who was a Beater for her final two years at Hogwarts, taught her some flying tricks. Mostly though, Brynn learned through trial and error and through playing with the local kids, always ending up with a couple of scrapes and bruises that her father would heal and her mother would scold her about.

Ambitions and Goals:

She wants to live up to the high expectations of her parents and do the absolute best that is possible. The classes she cares most about are Charms (obviously) and Transfiguration. In the long run, however, she’s not quite sure what she wants to do.

Personality:
The most notable thing about Lucinda is that she is a very curious girl always looking for something new to peek her interests. Sometimes this can cause her to come of as rude with all her questions or when she is messing around with other people's stuff. Another big part of her personality is she is very kind and caring to people she likes or considers freinds. However Lucinda has trouble making friends as she is rather shy. But beneath Lucinda's shyness is a very passionate and excitable person. Which is why she can become very caught up in her interests and opinions however she will never talk to anyone except her friends about them. Lucinda can also get very caught up in anything that is competitive especially when it's something she cares about. Also she never really sticks to a set schedule preferring to do what feels right in the moment. She is also not one to judge others however she hates those who do discriminate against others. The worst thing about her is her temper with her tending to want to get back at those who hurt her with a well thought out prank which are sometimes a bit excessive. However her normal pranks are more of a light hearted nature.

History:
The Blackthorn Estate is located just outside Norwich and is where Lucinda grew up. Her parents weren't around to raise her as they were needed by the the dark lord. So for most of Lucinda's early life up until three she was cared for by the families House-elf Missy. Never really knowing her parents as they only spent just over two months with her throughout the three years of Lucinda's life they were alive for. It was so hard for Missy to tell Lucinda that her parents had been killed and that an Auror was here to take her to a Foster home until they could track down one of her other family members. What was shocking is that Lucinda didn't take it incredibly hard as she was still very little and didn't understand, plus her parents weren't a big part of her life. However Lucinda was upset when the Auror took her away from Missy since she had been a much bigger part of her life. In fact she didn't stop crying until Missy promised to visit Lucinda.

It was several months before the Ministry managed to track down her aunt and uncle who had been traveling around the world studying wand making practices in different countries for her uncles book. Her Uncle told them he would collect Lucinda as soon as they returned from their trip which turned out to be two months after her fourth birthday. Lucinda was happy that she would be moving back home as her Uncle was now head of the family. However when Lucinda arrived home she found out that her uncle had taken his two children Alice (five years old) and Nathan (seven years old) with him on his trip. Lucinda had hissy fit asking why they didn't get her so she could have gone travelling with them. Even reminding them that they had missed her birthday. She never got an answer and was sent to bed for her behaviour.

Growing up was somewhat harder for Lucinda than it was for her cousins as her aunt and uncle were always more lenient on them. Whenever something bad happened her cousins would always blame her so they could get away with almost anything most of the time. If Missy was around she would try and tell Lucinda's uncle or aunt what actually happened but she was usually ignored or they said Missy was lying. None the less Lucinda became very attached to Missy for trying especially since Missy was punished when she lied. But Missy didn't care and would always do anything for Lucinda just like her parents instructed her to do. Lucinda always made sure to get back at her cousins for what they did even though it would get Lucinda into even more trouble. However Lucinda doesn't mind getting into trouble for her own actions.

At age eight Lucinda would sneak out of her room whenever she was grounded by climbing out the window and down the ivy. Even though she could of just asked Missy for help she didn't want to get her into trouble. It was during one of these escapes that she overheard her uncle in his office. He was discussing setting up an arranged marriage for her which made Lucinda so upset and angry she just had to get away for a while. Ending up on a path she walked down it for about an hour until it lead right into a muggle village. Still feeling to furious with her uncle to head back she went into the village since their wasn't another path and she didn't want to walk around as she was afraid of getting lost. It was strange she had been raised to despise muggles yet she found her self fascinated by the items in the shop windows. Even having a look around a few of the shops and the small local library finding several books she absolutely adored. She ended up having to run back to get back in time for dinner. After this day she started questioning her families beliefs and her own.

The village ended up being the place Lucinda would go when she was grounded even asking Missy to exchange a few galleons for some muggle money. Even getting Missy to find her a trunk with a hidden compartment for her muggle things telling her aunt and uncle it was just a regular trunk for when she went to school. Lucinda even met a very nice boy called Tommy who she would meet in the library and the two would talk about the books for hours. Well at least thats how their friendship started but as time went on they started to do more things outside even causing some minor mischief every now and again but never enough to get them into trouble. The last thing Lucinda needed was someone asking to speak to her parents. Occasionally they would still go to the library but mostly this was only something they did on rainy days. She enjoyed her time with Tommy more than anything else. It was at this point she realised all that stuff about blood and superiority of magic was complete rubbish.

Finally when her eleventh birthday arrived she received a letter from Durmstrang just like her cousins had who were already attending. However she also received a letter to attend Hogwarts and she begged her uncle to let her go. Not wanting to go Durmstrang with just stuck up pure-bloods plus her cousins alone were enough to put her off going. Reluctantly he agreed though he couldn't see why she would want to go to a school that allowed muggle filth to attend.

Ambitions and Goals:
While she is at Hogwarts Lucinda wants to be an above average student but doesn't want to be a know it all. Hopes to be able to play Quidditch both professionally and while she is at school however she may change her mind. Most of all Lucinda wants to make some good friends while she is at school.

Lucinda has a large enchanted trunk which she had Missy buy telling her uncle it was for school which is half true. However the main reason for her getting the trunk is the enchantment placed on it made a hidden compartment where she stores her muggle things. To access the hidden compartment is easy just turn the brass face on top of the trunk upside down then open. To put the trunk back simply reverse the process.

Missy actually belongs to Lucinda though her uncle believes he is Missy's master since he thinks she is property of the house which he inherited. It turns out her parents made sure Missy's ownership would be passed on to Lucinda so she would always have a guardian. Lucinda's farther never trusted his family to have Lucinda's best interests at heart.

Traditionally the Blackthorns have all been sorted into Slytherin or gone to Durmstrang.

For the past eight generations the Blackthorns have been trying to correct the mistakes of ancestor who sullied the families blood. They have been trying to marry into the purest families they can however it is difficult with the Blackthorn name not being very prestigious or powerful.

Her wand comes from a purveyor of rare and high quality wands from around the world. This dealer also only sells to pure-bloods as they are not only the only ones who can afford his prices but also the only people good enough to wield such exquisite wands. Lucinda was very lucky as one of the wands in his collection chose her and it was the last one he had with that unique core.

personality: Evan is a person who could definitely be considered a "mom friend". She is also very much so rather tomboyish and rowdy, always one to wrestle with her brothers, and never one for caring much about her looks unless she needs to. Evan is kind and compassionate, and at heart believes everyone has some good in them, but, finds pure-blood families that think they are better than half-blood or muggle-born wizards rather irritating and would rather talk with anyone, anyone else. Being a "mom friend" often means that she is extremely kind and caring towards her friends, as well as protective, and, if crossed, can have a fury like none you've ever seen from a girl her age. Though she is proud of being a hufflepuff, sometimes it can surprise others that this was the house she was placed in. history: This native American witch whose family moved to England when she was 4 was suppost to get an invitation to the American school, Ilvermorny, but was transferred to Hogwarts when she moved. Her parents own a rather large bit of land and large home in the countryside, where she and her 4 of her 7 brothers live. That many children sounds a bit like a hurricane in the making, but Evan's mother badly wanted a girl. Evan is the youngest- the four others living still under her parents' roof being two sets of twins, one in 6th year and one in 7th- and she was named Evan as her mother had expected another boy, but felt it was still a good girls' name. Michele Jackson had wanted to have a girl who was more into "girly" things like herself, but, as the years passed, she realized that Evan was quickly becoming more and more of a tomboy due to her many brothers. The eldest of the family, at 20 years old, is a professional quiddich player, whom Evan adores and hopes to be like in every way. Her father is a rather normal wizard, who accepted a job with the ministry of magic, which was the reason they moved.
ambitions/goals: Evan would love to become a professional quiddich player like her eldest brother when she is older, idolizing the players of the Holyhead Harpies and wishing with all of her being to be part of the team.     biography:

    history: elodie was born in ainhoa, france, in 1978 to alora cross and tobias scamander. alora and tobias had met during one of tobias' travels across the world to research on abraxans and other horses that was settled in ainhoa, france. ainhoa was quite a small village but it flourished greatly with a lot of agriculture and plant life. nevertheless, despite the small town, alora and tobias had bonded and eventually fell in love with each other. alora graduated from beauxbatons while tobias as an honorary hufflepuff from hogwarts.
    
    soon, the two got married and elodie was born two years after their marriage. elodie grew up surrounded by amazing creatures because of her father and her relatives. the scamanders always visited, bringing their new findings and even sometimes little creatures with them. however, at the age of five, the scamander-cross family decided to move to england to become closer to their relatives and made their home in cotswolds, england. at first, alora was reluctant to leave her home and france because that was where she grew up. but, tobias was able to allure alora to moving to england. alora's family was small with just her family and one other cousin. so, it wasn't going to be a big change for her.
    
    however, when the scamander-cross family moved, elodie was attached to the hips with one of the new-born colt abraxans that they couldn't tear elodie and her newfound friend apart. so, with the blessing of the other abraxans, elodie took the small colt with her to cotswolds, england. elodie lived a free-spirited and care-free lifestyle. she was playful, energetic, and definitely rambunctious. there was never a dull moment in the scamander-cross family. however, what elodie loved the most was the many stories her father told her before tucking her into bed about his, her grandfather, and the rest of the family and their adventures on researching all sorts of magical creatures!
    
    elodie loved magical creatures and soon enough, the scamander-cross family decided to breed their own abraxans. this allowed not only tobias his time researching on them, but also allowed elodie to start off young as well since it seemed she had a penchant for being with animals as they always followed her around. elodie absolutely loved when her relatives came to visit, especially when she went to visit them because she could meet all the hippogriffs!
    
    despite being raised in pure-blooded family, the scamander-cross family didn't think too much of it and were open to just about anything and everything. it even came to the point one day when elodie managed to meet a jarvey and the little thing managed to cause some havoc in their little cottage. but, nevertheless, no one was harmed and the only thing that was damaged was perhaps the furniture.
    
    soon enough, elodie had gotten her letter to hogwarts, feeling incredibly excited to go to the school her father had gone to. she was curious to how her beauxbatons was, but, from the two, elodie felt more drawn to hogwarts more than ever! especially since because she finally turned eleven, she was gifted with a kneazle and a snowy owl to travel with her to hogwarts!

    history: natalie comes from a family with a history of only have sacred pure-bloods in the family. however, despite their blood status, the family held no elitism in their mind as they interacted with any and all. the winchesters were well-known for their generosity, intelligence, and loyalty to not only themselves but those around them. natalie marie winchester was born to two hogwarts alumns: a fellow hufflepuff and a fellow ravenclaw. the family were known to have a mixture of different housed children being born in the family, but that's what made all unique and special in their own way.
    
    when natalie was born, her parents were ecstatic for her to be born since they knew from the moment they laid eyes on her, she would do wonderful things. growing up in the winchester household was definitely an environment filled with many oddities and mysteries. natalie wasn't just raised by her parents, but also her godmother who was also a hogwarts alumn, housed in slytherin. nevertheless, with the many distinct differences in her household, natalie was taught to love one another as she loved herself. she was taught to never discriminate and to always have a goal in mind to accomplish.

Personality:
A sweet young man, caring for his family, friends and animals with a sense of fairness to all including other creatures except Basilisks..... He greatly fears the Basilisk. While also is a pretty loyal and hard working man with a courage and hot-headedness combined with stubborn to cause trouble or prevent harm pending the view and situation.

The Warbecks are a long line of now half-blood wizards and witches- During the primitve years of magic his great ancestor William Ace Warbeck stopped a powerful witch of Grindelwald leading to the different curses his male descendants would later face throughout history of the Warbeck family tree. One who'd become a famous Auror during the mid 2000's and upward would know his werewolf curse well. While another named Sartorious his Aurors cousin would come to suffer from Vampirism during his lifetime.

Leading to the moniker of the "Cursed Warbecks" in future years. But meanwhile Sartorious would be born to the loving couple of Half blood witch Morrigan Warbeck-Winestrum and Muggle salesman Peter Winestrum. The 4th year Hufflepuff was raised to treat all the same, judge little and know love, see the power and strength it could have despite the obstacles. Now heading into his fourth year at Hogwarts, Sartorious aims to achieve his goal of becoming captain for house Hufflepuffs quidditch team and leading them to the quidditch cup. Perhaps the first for the house or least the first in a very long time. While hanging out with his friends, improve his magical talents as he looks to become a Auror himself and become a great duelist in his own right.

Saeran is of a very thin build, slender and flexible. His eyes are a duck egg blue, and his skin is very pale at the best of times, he sunburns very easily so he prefers to spend most of his time indoors. His hair goes down to the midpoint of his neck at the back and goes nearly to the eyes at the front, his hair is predominantly white with pink tips, which he dyes using magic. When not in uniform, he likes to wear dark colors, black, purple, red, blue. He stands at 5'3, is worryingly skinny due to his poor diet and his usual expression is generally quiet and tired.

Lauren's parents claimed they would give her the world in a blink of an eye, but they never did. "You have to work for it honey," her mother scolded her, but everything in the world couldn't fix her family's problems.
She could hear her mother and father talk in hushed voices and her father told her mother to stay -- to stay because he couldn't care for Lauren on his own, he couldn't love her on his own.
Her mother left and a month hadn't even passed before Lauren's father took in a new witch as his wife. As if she could replace Lauren's mum, as if Lauren could actually look at her and pretend that that woman was her real mom.
Her dad started to spoil her then. He finally fulfilled his promises of giving her everything. Lauren accepts the gifts, she allows them, she encourages them. Let him think that she forgave him for replacing her mother.

  History| Ripley was born several years before the end of the First Wizarding War. She was the daughter of Angelica Holton and Jack Walsh, both former Hogwarts students. She was brought to her grandparents estate in Somerset in order to keep her safe, and she was. The same could not be said of her parents. It was unfortunate that the girl never truly got to know either of them, too young to recall much beyond vague faces. She knows her mother was an Auror, and her father kept a quidditch supply shop, but has not been given much more.
  
  This hasn't affected her attitude however, and she remains much the average, if slightly odd, eleven year old. Growing up in comfort, security and relative isolation of her home, Ripley was brought up in full knowledge of the magic around her and the nature of the world beyond the muggle one.
  
  Going to Hogwarts had never really been any question. Ripley practically bounced off the walls of every shop when acquiring her school things, so eager was she to attend the much talked of school.

  History| Edward was born in 1915, to Sir Joseph Holton, a muggle, and Elizabeth Holton, a witch. The boy was raised without knowledge of his mother's 'abilities'. It was a much heated debate between his parents as to what would happen to him, whether he would attend Hogwarts or a muggle school. When the time came however, it was Hogwarts he went to, as skeptical and nervous as he was.
  
  His time at the school was a mixed bag. His first several years were spent somewhat isolated from others, with poor performance across all subjects. Edward was temperamental and antagonistic in his attitude. While many children would jump at a chance to live in a magical world, hidden from them, Edward was less keen. All his expectations of life, conscious or otherwise, had been smashed by this school, and while not in anyway the establishments fault, he was frustrated. It wasn't till his fourth year, upon meeting a fifth year Hufflepuff named Alexina, that all this changed. The dark haired girl was sweet, constantly happy and in her own world twenty-four seven. And she was all that Edward adored. Over the their remaining years at Hogwarts, the two blossomed a romance. Several years on, they married.
  
  After leaving Hogwarts, Edward went on to train as an Auror. He entered their ranks and served for a number decades, earning himself experience, respect and scars. All in equal measure. During this time, he also had several children with Alexina; Frederick, Eve and Angelica.
  
  As time went on, 'He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named' grew in power. It was deeply unsettling to Edward that Fredrick and Eve, the twins, took to the followings of Voldemort, joining the ranks of the Death Eaters. An act which shook him greatly. He and his eldest, Angelica, who had also joined the ranks of the Aurors tracked down and captured Eve. A battle took place when they tracked Frederick, with Edwards son killing his sister Angelica before being slain by his father.
  
  The events left Edward broken, and was only forced back together by his wife, and the duty they now had to care for their grandchild. With Ripley, Angelica daughter, having lost both parents to the First Wizarding War, it was now his responsibility to raise her. He stepped down from his job, taking up a post at Hogwarts as a means to pass on what he can.

Written Description : {First Year} Leo is definitely one of those kids that gets mistaken as an actual toddler. He just seems to have that permanate baby face that just seems to make him innocent. His goofy little smile makes it hard for people to hate him. Maybe it's the round, brown eyes that just sparkle with happiness or that little cat-like smile. Whatever it is, Leo is "cute" although he prefers handsome. Leo seems to carry an aura of energy and risk. He's always bounding around, doing something. He hates sitting still for one thing.

Leo's hair is so inconsistent, always changing depending on every cicumstance you can think of. It's fairly long, usually reaching just above his collar when wearing a dress shirt. His hair is described as a dark chestnut brown with a slight wave that somehows always manages to stick up. It's cute though and he's no stranger to people running their fingers through it. Heck, people even compare the silkiness and quality of his hair to someone who upkeeps their hair to the best of their abilities. On the other hand he only uses shampoo and maybe some conditioner when he feels like it. His sense of fashion is definitely terrible. He does not know how to coordinate his outfits. To be honest, Leo is glad Hogwarts has a uniform so he wouldn't have to work to dress semi-decently. Not that he would anyways.

At first glance, Leo seems like a wonderful ball of sunshine that can do no harm. He’ll act touchy-feely and a bit too nosy. He enjoys messing around with people, asking if they want to touch a weird, bumpy toad in the middle of class. There are times when he’s awkward and deadpans when he’s in uncomfortable situations. He’s definitely a jokester, always trying to lighten the mood. A little prank didn’t hurt anyone. He’s always been a firm believer of everything supernatural, everything a little peculiar. Being a believer has given him an ‘I don’t care what you think’ mentality, so whatever evidence you have won’t make him stop believing the odd smell in your attic is a goblin. Isn’t funny that everything he suspected existed in the wizarding world, and he turned out to be of magic blood.

The only thing he’s knowledgeable about is playing a good prank and the world of the Muggle perception of the supernatural. Don’t even ask. Oh yeah he may seem like a well-liked person, completely the opposite of a person who thinks shoving balls of rubber bands down the toilet is quality humor, but in reality, he’s a humongous weirdo that likes to dabble in experimental pranks or magic. Ask him if he’s attempted to summon the Devil because the answer is probably yes. He never seems to take things seriously, always using humor to hide how he really feels. It’s always been one of Leo’s coping mechanisms. It also is the way he deals with problems. A friend down in the dumps? He’ll try to make them laugh. Of course, it seems harmless, but he really can’t pick up when humor isn’t such a good idea.

Deep down he doesn’t mean to sound crass or annoying. He’s such a strong individual, able to take insults and hate in his stride. Leo is fiercely loyal, sticking to his friends like glue. If you happen to really become his friend, you’ll get a friend that stays until the end. Leo certainly isn’t cowardly, standing up for people when they need it. He’s been in their shoes before, and he’s not about to let someone else just take it. Although Leo can be a bit violent in his methods, deep down he means it as an act of love.

Backstory

Leo was born in London to Gloria Ardilles (originally from the States) and Ethan Hong (born and raised in London). His parents met when Gloria had moved to London for her interior-design job, and Ethan just so happened to be interning at the firm she worked at. One thing led to another and Leo was conceived by accident. Whoops. However, his parents were extremely in love with each other and soon got married. The trio moved into the flat above their new shared office they opened together after Gloria's independent work got popular.

Leo lived a relatively normal, Muggle life. He went to school, although always getting in trouble unintentionally. His mother would always scold him, but Leo was still a mommy's boy. However, his dad was also incredibly close to him, always having his back when he broke things after flailing his arms too much. Their relationship was very much a mutual friendship, Ethan always being there to cheer him up. Leo shares a strong resemblance to his father, and with their charming smiles, they somehow endured Gloria's wrath. Growing up, instead of having siblings, Leo lived with tons of animals. Both of his parents had a huge love for all different critters. If you had to count, Leo had at least ten pets. He had three cats, two dogs, two little birds, and three fish. Life continued as normal for the most part with the family of three plus ten pets.

Suddenly the Hongs' lives got flipped upside down. Leo was walking home from school one day when he noticed a huge owl sitting on the railing of the steps leading up to his parent's business. It was quite odd seeing a giant, snowy owl in the middle of a busy urban neighborhood. Leo, being Leo, went straight up to it and took the leader it held in its beak. Next thing he knew, he was bolting up the stairs and into their business screaming "I'M MAGIC, I'M A WIZARD". Thank god, there were no people around other than his parents. His parents being supportive immediately agreed to stand by their son. Leo wasn't happy in his current school, and his parents were already on the odd side. SO naturally, they agreed to send him to Hogwarts. By and by, this is where Leo ended up.

  HISTORY:
  Alannah was born in Dublin but not in a hospital, her father was driving the family to the zoo because it was her older brothers 5th birthday. On the way to the zoo her mother started having contractions and her father had to turn around to head to the hospital it was to late though. They had to pull over and her father helped her mother give birth to her. Skip forward to three year old Alannah, after going to a water park she was crying and her mother couldnt console her. That's when her mother notice a large cut on Alannah's leg and rushed her back into town to the hospital. The cut had become infected and the doctors said that she'd have to stay at the hospital, she was scared but her now eight year old brother came running into the room with a single calls Lily in his hand.
  Like her brother before her she got her Hogwarts acceptance letter at the age of eleven, when she received her letter her father sent an owl back immediately. About a month later her family went to Hogwarts so her brother and her could get their supplies for school. Her mother was a little upset that she was a witch because she'd said she wanted one of her children to be like her. During the time in Diagon Alley she met a couple of her future classmates but didn't speak to them much.
  AMBITIONS AND GOALS:
  Alannah wants to be on the quidditch team but knows that she will have to wait until her second year to even try out. She also wants to become quidditch captain like her father was. At first he hadn't liked the idea of having a younger sibling thinking that his parents would forget about him, but when he saw his little for the first time he vowed to protect her. When he was eleven he go his Hogwarts letter and was estatic about going to the school but when his sister found out that he was leaving for school she was heartbroken.
  During his third year he was hurt pretty bad by a hippogriff but had no scars because madam pomfrey mended and fixed him up. Fifth year he was promoted to prefect which he thought was awesome. This year however he was excited for a totally different reason his sister was coming to Hogwarts. She'd finally get to come to the place he called a second home.
