Jae was raised by Korean parents in rich sunny LA with a producer father and an actress mother. It was only logical that he would also follow a path in media. His parents became his agents and managers over actual family and when he was 5 years old he got his first role on a Disney Channel show for three years. After that ended he went and voice acted on a few seasons of a cartoon for Nickelodeon. At ten he was on a day time sit com for two years before quitting after a frustrating argument with his family.
After this he became very rebellious. He wouldn't listen to his parents. He often flunked off school and when they tried to get him a private tutor he spat back insults and criticised them for everything they'd done over the last 7 years. Puberty hit hard. This cute and angry kid grew to be an even angrier more evil teen. He needed controlling. That's when boarding school was brought up. Jay was forced into behaving and going back to school as boarding school would not look good for him. Of course these new found threats didn't stop him as every school has a gang of rebels and it just so happens he was friends with all of them. One evening they were applying graffiti to the side of a building but the boys scattered without Jay noticing. They didn't say anything about a cop coming and left Jay to be arrested for vandalism. It was here when he decided that being a rebel wasn't a good idea.
Time around new people introduced Jay to a lot of different things. He got into so many different genres of music and he loved everything. He then decided that for once he was going to do something to make him and his family happy. He was going to be a musician. It took a while (a few years even) but he managed to make his parents proud with the release of his first album. He toured for a few months across America and he honestly enjoyed performance again. He really knew what he wanted to do now.

biography: pippa was always raised with high expectations, born to successful parents, the third in a series of already successful siblings and proving herself to be bright and capable from an early age. as a child, she was always encouraged to push herself and work hard, despite obviously having family money to fall back on. she was also put in public spotlight from a young age, just like her other two siblings, as she was chauffered around to fancy events and posed for family photographs at events before she could even spell her own name. pippa was well-liked by the general public and high society from a young age, naturally charming, intelligent, sweet, and learning quickly how to play her role at events. she's always been a big believer in the idea that everybody plays a certain role within society and that hers has been lined up for her since she was born: a socialite, a lady of society.

after graduating high school, an honors student of course, and making valedictorian, everybody expected her to go to an ivy league school. she almost expected it herself but due to ill health, (how her parents liked to classify her disorder), it was decided that she should take a year or two out; this was after she had to be hospitalised for a few weeks in the summer and it was realised that there may be longterm health effects of the anorexia. even her parents, who weren't bad but bordered on pushy and strict, could recognise that a high status school could worsen her problems. at first, pippa had been upset and angry that she couldn't continue pursuing her dream of educational perfectionism. instead of going to college, she stayed and continued playing her role of the socialite. the party girl. but, admittedly, pippa does love playing her role even if it sometimes causes her stress. she loves parties, people, dancing, designer drugs, expensive alcohol, and the constant events. everywhere she goes and everything she does has to be planned and perfected beforehand. eventually, the anger mostly faded and now she redirects her desire to be perfect and keep up appearances into her socialising. pippa is renowned for her good girl behaviour and complete professionalism in the eyes of the press and tabloids, keeping her other problems under wraps and hidden away from the public eye.

backstory
backstory.... // at birth // on july fifth, twins dalton and ivy james were brought into the world in church point, california. their births were quite a shock to the town, as they were conceived through an affair between carter james, the most successful and wealthy business contractor on the city, and anna grimalde, his beautiful secretary. both adults came from extremely wealthy families, anna being an oxford graduate who grew up in the wealthiest region of france, and carter being a los angeles native and harvard graduate. carter was by far one of the most well-known men in the town, as most business owners answered to him when it came to buying and managing land. upon the discovery of anna's pregnancy, the two quickly eloped to uphold both individuals' catholic morals, and anna was quickly promoted to vice president of the company.
// childhood // growing up, dalton saw very little of his parents. they traveled often on business, buying and selling land all over the state, so dalton and ivy were frequently left to their own devices. a life like that to most would be lonely, but not for the twins, as they grew up with an indescribable bond and mutual love. their classmates teased them and made jokes that they were "in love" as they could often be seen holding hands, cuddling, or spending all their time together with no one else around. the truth is, they were never romantically interested in each other at all, but their emotional and mental connection was one that no one else seemed to understand. they claimed that they could sense each others emotions if they were in extreme despair, excitement, etc. even from miles away. however, his relationship with his sister didn't completely fill the holes that carter's absence had caused in his life. as dalton got older, he began seeking more and more validation from his father. he pushed himself more and more to succeed at anything he could to get his father's attention, but, more often than not, his attempts fell on deaf ears. on the rare occasion that his father did notice, he was only greeted with disappointment - "dalton, i went to harvard and i'm now the most successful business man you'll ever meet in this city. you can be doing more."
// teenage years // during his teen years was when dalton was met with pressure from his mother as well. she was constantly pushing on ivy and dalton that they were wealthy, fortunate, and popular, and they needed to make the most of it and stop spending their time only together - break out of their shells. she hosted many of the parties and events for the school at their house, and even encouraged the twins to throw ragers, supplying them with the alcohol and anything else they might need. the extra push helped dalton break out of his shell, and soon enough he and his sister were the most popular kids in school. before he knew it, dalton was one of the top students, as well as the captain of the baseball team - not to mention having befriended every soul in the school. he hoped that this success would finally grab his dad's attention, but sadly, it didn't. during his junior year, the pressure and responsibilities began to catch up with dalton. he found himself in states of deep depression with all the stress going on in his life. he did his best to hide it from his friends and everyone at school, and ivy was the only one who truly knew about dalton's struggles. as a last resort, dalton turned to pain killers and anti-depressant and anxiety pills, as well as other recreational pills such as adderal. he kept his drug habits a secret, and was able to keep up his status as everybody's friend, who was always happy.
// adulthood // weeks after dalton's 18th birthday, shortly after he left home to begin studying at stanford university, both of his parents were arrested and sent to prison for wage theft and insider trading. dalton inherited the family company, james & co, and relocated the headquarters to san francisco to be closer to where he was attending school. the company experienced a massive financial loss after the reveal of his parents' malpractice, so he took a temporary leave from college to attempt to fix the business' name.
