Synopsis
-
Deep in the northern wilderness, lies a vast coniferous forest, split down the middle by a winding frigid river. On the South side of the river, the land slopes down into a small valley, and the temperate timberland is lush with firs, evergreens, and massive pines. Rolling fertile soil and frequent rain are friendly to the local flora, making for a dense thicket of undergrowth between the trees, and leaving just enough clearings and passages for it's canine inhabitants; the Pack of the Misted Pines. To the North of the river however, the land ascends into a snowy mountain range. Here the earth thickens into a dense permafrost, hard and less fertile, leaving the towering spruce and firs to be the sole vegetation aside from the moss and lichen. Unbearable to most, the frosty and frequently snowy conditions are hostile to all but the Pack of the Frozen Taiga, who call the mountains their home. This roleplay is the story of these two opposing Packs, who may share a forest but don't always connect.

1. Activity
Both administrators understand the restrictions of everyday life outside of RPN, and will ourselves have the occasional absence. However, with this being a group roleplay especially, it's helpful to all involved for a certain amount of dedication to be applied. With this in mind, we request that you make an effort to post everyday, and at the least every few days.
2. Attitude
Frustration and anger is understandable, but try to maintain kindness, respect with yourself and others in the group. Don't feel too bad about taking a while to reply or making a short post, we all have bad days. RPN is about having fun, getting immersed in your writing and the worlds we create through our interactions; don't forget that!
3. Literacy
This can be difficult because while we don't want to be exclusive, many people on this site roleplay at varying levels. Because of this, the only literacy request is that you provide enough information to move the story along and give those you're interacting with something to build on. Please also make an effort at eloquent writing; if it comes to it, the quality over quantity rule is certainly applicable.
4. Reality
One of the biggest rules of this roleplay; please please keep reality in mind when creating your characters and interacting with others and the environment. There are no pink wolves with purple eyes, and no wolves the size of rabbits or large cars. No one is invincible, neither in physical strength nor in emotions, so please consider humane, but wolflike reality as you roleplay.
5. Relationships
Romance and friendships are perfectly acceptable, welcome even, but smut has no place in this roleplay. Also, when developing relationships consider reality as well. Typically two wolves wouldn't become mates after speaking to one another only a few posts. If you would like a mate or friendship established prior to the roleplay, contact the owner of the character, or make a public inquiry on the Character Page.

Pack of the Misted Pines

Dark colored wolves make up this pack, in general having thin but sleek coats of black and brown. Because of the thick undergrowth of their territory that tends to make movement difficult, these wolves are generally smaller, with thin long tails and limbs. They tend to be more swift and more agile so as to navigate the thicket of the underbrush and chase after prey, with quick reflexes to escape or hideout from danger rather than resist it.

Pack of the Frozen Taiga

The majority of the wolves of this pack are large and light in color, typically with coarse coats of white, light grey, or blonde. Generally these wolves are larger, both because of the thickness of their coats, and to give them more body heat as resistance to the cold. They aren't quite as agile as the others, but have stronger, more sturdy builds. This is advantageous to walking in thick snow and strong winds, and to hold up against threats rather than flee or hide from them.
