But, as I say this, I also enjoy freedom with these types of stories. When put into a land of misery and chaos, exploring and settling into said land can be quite the experience, and I wouldn't want to miss that in the sake of remaining in the main group.

I think the latter would be better, as story lines where characters have a commonality are more inclusive, and tend to last longer than free-for-all stories.

Just a few questions though: Will there be a form of tribal society/society's that can be interacted with? Will said 'Tribes' interact with each other? If so, what would act as currency?
