Carlton smiled. "My niece, Victor would like you to accept the throne."
Katherine stood there, looking at each of them. "Well I'm not quite sure I'm ready for it. A country, a husband, none of it." She said, storming off. As she left, Carlton turned to the king apologetically. Okay, maybe he...
Katherine had heard voices in the garden. She followed them in the absense of Sir Seler.
Out of the shadows, she immerged. "I must what?" She asked suspiciously looking at her unclez
"She hadn't known of it until last night. I debated hiding the truth from her but it wouldn't have lasted all that long. Katherine needs to grow up, be responsible." Carlton said.
"After the queen's death, the government officials began trying to drag Katherine to her duties. Willingly or not."
As Carlton pondered the pros and cons of the truth, he made up his mind. "Allow me to begin from the beginning. The Queen of Amoria had a sister named Mary, whom was married to my brother George. Together, they had a daughter. However, after the death of the mother, the baby's father feared for...
"I'm not sure what you mean, my King." Carlton began, choosing his words carefully. "My secrets are not held to threaten the monarch of Tremont, but are there to ensure the success of another country. One of which I am loyal to."
Carlton read the contents of the letter before a guard entered his chambers and told him that the king requested his presence. He exhaled a breath of relief and met the king outside. "Greetings, your majesty."
"Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss." Katherine says, her own expression growing dim as she bowed her head.
Carlton received back a letter from Amoria the next day. The country was only a short distance, but still, the information was of the utmost importance.
"What is it?" Katherine asked, picking up on his expression change from positive to rather sad. Kat was unaware of the previous nights hardships, as she was busy on her own.
A laugh escaped Katherine's red lips, as she was not quite sure what to make of the situation. "Alright then, Sir Seler the Lovely." She said, still maintaining a distracted look every so often to scan for her uncle and any new news.
"Not to my immediate recognition." Katherine said, smiling. "I'm sure it must have been brief."
She looked around the garden yet again, breathing in the flowers with such wonder and appreciation.
Katherine was surprised to see the kings expression shift so quickly. She then wandered outside, not seeing her uncle. She didn't feel safe at court, not with the risk of them discovering her secret.
As Katherine's eyes scanned the crowd for her uncle, she caught the gaze of the king. His expression was ice cold and seemingly stared right through her. Kat smiled slightly, offering a small wiggle of her fingers as a wave.
Katherine's headache forbade her from even touching a single glass. Instead, she curteseyed politely. "I kindly reject your offer, your grace." She said, flashing a warm smile. Instead, she looked for her father, no wait, her uncle... But he was no where to be found.
"Very eye opening." Katherine responded non - chalantly. She pressed at her temples as a sharp pain in her head arose and passed. "If I may, I shall excuse myself in order to prepare for today's meeting at Court. I think it may be one of the more important." She told the princess, feeling bad...
Katherine was awaken by the sound of the bottle she had drank crashing to the ground. Startled, she slowly began to remember where she was, why she was there, etc. Her window sill hiding spot wasn't much protection against her thoughts. She sighed, her head pounding. She began to make her way to...
